07 fwc 22 THOMAS MCCLURE Colu mbu s Fa sh i o n Cou nc i l Fou nde r E xe cu t i ve D i re cto r Since 2010 Columbus has witnessed the rise of a unique organization that platforms the talent in our capital city and develops our city s fashion ecosystem which would not exist if not for the passion and dedication of all those who have supported our grassroots movement Fashion Week Columbus the flagship program of the Columbus Fashion Council doing the work and proving our mission year after year putting Columbus on the map within the fashion world representing our great city regionally nationally and globally continues to develop high impact programs that provide education and connections and help to develop careers and small businesses These small businesses contribute to our city s economy by putting fashion at the forefront of Columbus culture and continuing to contribute to American fashion as a whole Fashion Week Columbus the only platform of its kind in Central Ohio brings together designers models photographers makeup artists hair stylists production crew and other small businesses to not only create magic on the runway but to launch their brands from our runways Fashion Week Columbus is more than just an event It is a very necessary year round program for our fashion community Over the last 13 years Fashion Week Columbus launched or introduced many of the brands that now have their own boutique as part of the new downtown Fashion and Retail District This project was led by the Columbus Fashion Council in partnership with the Columbus Downtown Development Corporation and IL Moda Brands We re excited to celebrate the eight small businesses promoting their brands in storefronts on Third Street and we re excited for the evolution and expansion of this district Fashion Week Columbus is where many of these brands got their start or introduction into the Columbus market The impact of our mission and vision can be felt on and beyond the runway

12 fwc 22 N ATA L I A F E D N E R HEA DLINE DESIGNER Natalia Fedner is a couture designer based in Los Angeles She was born in Ukraine and immigrated to Columbus Ohio as a child She moved to New York and later Paris to attend Parsons School of Design and study the techniques of haute couture During her studies and after graduating Natalia worked for Calvin Klein Collection Donna Karan Collection and Marc Jacobs Natalia is most well known for creating avant garde designs and jewelry for celebrities including Beyonc Jennifer Lopez Cher Doja Cat Janet Jackson Charlize Theron Alicia Keys Lenny Kravitz Cardi B Megan Thee Stallion Shakira Kim Kardashian Kendall Jenner Kylie Jenner Kourtney Kardashian Kristen Stewart Sharon Stone Chloe X Halle Anitta Pamela Anderson Bebe Rexha Keke Palmer Laverne Cox and others Her designs have been on runways in Paris and NYC and featured in the prestigious windows of Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue in NYC Magazines highlights include Vogue Harper s Bazaar Elle The Cut L Officiel Esquire Maxim Sports Illustrated Complex and Galore Natalia supports the non profit Ukrainian Cultural Association of Ohio Inc UCAO which is the hub of Ukrainian American life in Columbus and Central Ohio Ukrainian American life in Columbus and Central Ohio FWCxUKRAINE

18 fwc 22 2 02 2 FA S H I O N W E E K F E AT U R E D D E S I G N E R S COLUMBUS Genoveva Christoff designs are made of the finest fabrics are fashion forward and chic as well as feminine and sophisticated Genoveva creates unique attire for sophisticated young women who are fashion savvy and have impeccable style intelligent women with social influence who are always seeking exciting new designs Aspparel offers athleisure pieces with a mix of fashion and fitness including performance features such as 4 way stretch and sweat wicking technology while providing fashion forward styles that transition effortlessly from the studio to the street Gerardo Encinas is no stranger to pushing boundaries his self taught fashion stylings have made him a mainstay of Fashion Week Columbus since 2016 and his designs have been selected to appear on several FWC LookBook covers He has designed multiple dresses for notable Columbus drag queen Nina West who rose to fame with her appearance on RuPaul Drag Race Gerardo also collaborates with Opera Columbus on various projects including their 2019 Opera Gala One of his most recen achievements is his newly opened Encinas Designs boutique in Downtown Columbus featuring the eye catching looks he is known for including couture gowns bridal dresses and ready to wear designs for both men and women Joan Madison is a couturier of bridal and evening gowns A Queens NY native and FIT graduate Joan honed her craft at several acclaimed fashion houses in the Garment District Her design aesthetic is sophisticated and dramatic statement pieces Uthabiti is Joan s newest haute couture collection which means resilience in Swahili Resiliency is the ability to withstand adversity and bounce back from difficult life events This two toned collection exemplifies the positive and negative forces we face everyday The collection is designed to inspire us to be our best and highest selves Austin Tootle is a fashion designer recent graduate of Columbus College of Art Design s Fashion Design program His passion for fashion started at a young age Austin s artistic taste and fashion taste usually complement each other in everyday life and in the design process as well He believes that life imitates art and that everyone is an artist in their own way Austin s designs pull inspiration from the 1960 s mixed with a world that is only visible in his dreams while adding a modern sexy twist He is fascinated by unrealistic beings loves stories such as American Horror Story and Alice in Wonderland Austin is inspired by fellow artists who dream the unimaginable and make it reality Akili Cooper is the designer Creative Director of the couture eveningwear brand Jahi The Jahi woman is full of confidence and embraces style as a way to exude just how sexy confident she is The inspirations of Regal Women Sophistication and Pop Culture have influenced many Jahi collections Jahi has been seen befor on the FWC runway and has been featured in other runway shows around the Midwest as well as NYFW Juan Jos Saenz Ferreyros is a Peruvian Fashion Designer and Creative Director He studied throughout Peru Argentina and Columbia and his designs often evoke the emotion of his childhood in his designs The couture brand Ferreyros Life occasionally presents a ready to wear collection to be sold at boutiques and online But most of Juan s time is spent creating one of a kind clothes and elaborate costumes for his private clients He also designs home furnishings for MG Home an exclusive store in Lima Peru Juan has designed for various celebrities and has been featured on runways shows in New York New Jersey Philadelphia Columbus Ohio and Washington DC Andrew Shields is a new bespoke luxury brand for performers and influencers specializing in bold prints color classic tailoring and conceptual club silhouettes He works out of Brooklyn NY Columbus OH and Cincinnati OH Xantha Ward makes clothes and accessories for the woman that knows who she is and where she is going Her clothes are edgy non traditional and sometimes over the top The woman that wears Xantha s clothing doesn t have to speak because the clothes speak for her Xantha s designs were recently featured in the TV Series Queen Sugar James White is a self taught fashion designer with over 15 years of experience and the owner of fashion brand Javius which sells both apparel footwear James also owns the JOW Company a multientity business that encompasses music theatre fashion dance and music publishing Javius is a brand of excellence and the brand s design style is a mixture of royalty urban glam luxury James is sought out by many clients to create custom pieces that make them feel like they a part of a royal court and has been featured in multiple runway shows
