Fashion Week Columbus is the agship program of the Columbus Fashion Council, which develops programs and initiatives impacting the fashion community of Central Ohio and beyond. As we immerse ourselves into a runway show full of beautiful and mesmerizing fashions, models, and artistry, we’re transported into another world. Our senses get caught up in dramatic theater mixed with colorful textured art, effortlessly moving along with the sound of music. Perfectly stylized hair and makeup underscore the mystique of our new reality. Our eyes follow the story of the designer as each model - part actor and part dancer - does their catwalk along the runway, spurred by the director and supported by countless volunteers backstage that breathe life into art. Alex Vinash is a New York based fashion Designer, by way of Buenos Aires, who channeled his experience as an Argentinian professional ice-skating national into fashion design. Vinash transitioned seamlessly by designing dance and ice-skating costumes, while choreographing ice-skating shows throughout Europe. He later began designing intricate custom tted clothing, primarily using the moulage technique. DesignersHaus of Dawlingz is an up-and-coming brand led by Zhané Wiley. House of Dawlingz pulls inspiration from traveling and the observation of other lifestyles and cultures, as well as family, friends, and drag queens, which always bring a new look to the stage. Zhané is mostly self taught and built her brand around creating inclusive fashions for everyone. As a young, black, trans woman, inclusivity is a central pillar of her brand. From sewing, to diamond painting, to hand beading, House of Dawlingz specializes in various techniques to create a style that is anything but ordinary.Zhané WileySince childhood, Destiny has loved to draw, paint, design, and put on a show. She is inspired by the events of everyday life for her work. That is apparent through her Don’t Be Rude collection focusing on current events and social justice in our country. With an emphasis on inclusivity through her brand, Destiny undoubtedly has a pulse on the positive changes in our society and the industry. Inspirational messages through art and design are at the forefront of the Destiny Howard’s brand. Howard’s designs have been shown in New York Fashion Week, Richmond Fashion Week, and Runway 2 Life.Destiny HowardXantha started her brand with reconstructing denim and now specializes in Women’s Couture. This multifaceted designer is inspired by nature, architecture, and the world around her. After studying fashion design at CCAD and elsewhere, Xantha prides herself in providing for the 21st century woman that knows who she is and where she’s going. She has shown her designs in Europe and throughout the United States. Edgy and nontraditional are two of the countless words used to describe Xantha’ effervescent style.Xantha WardVinci Quevedo of Vinci Designs is not only an incredible designer, but also an educator at the university level for over 30 years. Currently, Quevedo is an associate professor at Kent State University’s School of Fashion. His brand caters to men, women, and children, but it is delving into the couture and designer target market as well. Decorated with multiple awards of both national and international merit and patents for four of his designs, Quevedo is unequivocally accomplished in fashion design. Entering into the Columbus fashion market is the next step for Vinci Designs.Vinci QuevedoGerardo Encinas is a self-taught fashion designer hailing from Mexico. Inspired by pop culture, social media, reality television, red carpet glam, and performers, Encinas strives to allow everyone to embrace their “innermost pop diva.” Through his work, he accentuates the female gure with a one-of-a-kind style.
