Linked CoursesFor some courses, you need to register for a lecture and recitation section simultaneously, or else you willreceive a registration error. In the example below, you must register for a lecture (section A or section B)and a corresponding recitation (sections with the same letter followed by a number). For example, I canregister for A and A01, or B and B02, but not B and A01, and not A and B02. Note that if you do notregister for a lecture and a recitation section simultaneously or when you register for a “B-section”recitation and the A section lecture, you will see a “Linked course” registration error. Class Schedule Listing pageWhen you click a CRN link on the page with the list of sections, you will be brought to a “Class ScheduleListing” page. Here, you can see some basic info about the course. OSCAR Registration TipsClick the blue link on the course title (i.e. Ecomonics and Policy – 84758 – ECON 2100 – MK) to bebrought to the “Detailed Class Information” page. Registration AdviceEarly Morning Courses Sometime 8:00 AM courses are unavoidable, so don’t hedge your bets on getting into a section later in theday. It is better to be registered for MATH 1552 at 8:00 AM than to be on the waitlist for MATH 1552 at 1:55PM. Make a Contingency Plan Once the class schedule for the following semester becomes available, begin making multiple differentschedule drafts. Sometimes the class sections that you’d like to be in are full, and it’s important to havebackup plans. Check your email every day if on a waitlist As mentioned earlier, once a seat becomes available in the class, you’ll receive an email offering you theseat if you are next in the waitlist line. Watch your email closely during Phase 2 so you don’t miss suchemails. If you have a plan, register by CRN Copy all the CRNs of the classes you are registering for and follow the instructions on page 4 for thequickest registration experience.Helpful LinksIRP Grade Dashboard – look up grade distributions for classes Campus Map List of Social Sciences List of Humanities Registration Error Messages Registrar Videos Academic Advisors
