FIRST Recognition Program Meet The Team Rae Lynn Iaquinto One of the ways we recognize our team s hard work is through our FIRST recognition program Every Kaftan team member has I have been in Multifamily for 18 years in various roles including Leasing a FIRST recognition card and they re challenged to recognize when one of their fellow team members exemplifies one of our FIRST core values Manager Property Manager Recruiter Marketing Director and Regional Manager I have been part of new construction communities in Downtown F Fair but Firm I Inspiring Positivity R Responsible and accountable S Superior Experience T Truly Healthy Lifestyle Detroit and have managed communities from Las Vegas to Alabama Indiana Regina Reeves was one of our team members who completed the FIRST recognition program Great work and all across MI Previous to property management I was in retail for 26 years I am passionate about supporting breast cancer causes and have participated in the three day walk for six years I love spending time with my nieces and nephews shopping and visiting my best friend in Nashville Team members who are able to fill out every letter on their card get a chance to win money This quarter we re excited to Community Update recognize not one but three team members who completed the FIRST recognition program Regina Reeves Liz Spanski Kids are back in school and Kaftan was proud to help organize a drive to support Brilliant Detroit Thank you to everyone who and Mark Hughes Thank you for all that you do and keep up the great work donated school supplies to children in need We hope all the students have a great year KAFTAN STAFF ARE THE BEST One of our staff members was captured improvising and working outside Our team will work anywhere they need to especially in the sunshine Thank you all for your great work September 20 Newsletter
Property Updates The Bedford The Bedford has been talked about and now it s really happening It started with an idea to re brand and re position the Refreshing Weatherstone entire property Now we have a new name an updated exterior frontage updated hallways with cool colors and lighting and Weatherstone North and South has a new artwork as well as fully renovated apartments with full size washers and dryers and bonus fun amenities All that equals a hip exterior look with fresh paint modern and edgy place to live within a quiet Canton neighborhood yet walking distance to the heart of the action Covington Club Leasing Center We re excited to announce the kick off of the Covington Club leasing center We will be upgrading from operating in a model unit for the last 20 years to our own brand new and dedicated leasing center It has been a very difficult process taking over a year dealing with Farmington Hills but Bernie and Mel persevered The footings are installed and we will be going vertical very shortly The leasing center is designed by Alexander Bogaerts and Assoc with interior design by Kathy Perrotta Reinhart Stay tuned for progress updates on this exciting development Arbor Circle is Back After many long months of construction to re build after a fire Arbor Circle is back Please see tips for how you can prevent fires on the following pages New Property Alert Kaftan is pleased to add Uptown 11 Townhomes to our portfolio We are very excited to have this great new opportunity for our community September 20 Newsletter
dont get burned it s Fire prevention week Here s How to Prep in Case of a Fire Fires happen more often than you might think Last year a residential fire occured every 88 seconds causing an estimated 7 billion in damages One quarter of these fires were in apartment buildings Be aware of all exit stairs near you in case the one nearest you is blocked Make sure all exit and stairwell doors are clearly marked and remain unlocked Test alarms once a month and change batteries at least once a year or consider a Long Life 10 year battery Plan and practice your family s escape route Make sure that every room has two ways out Consider escape ladders for upper floors and make sure security bars on your doors and windows open easily from the inside Remember to also plan for your pets Inspect cords for frayed or exposed wiring and loose plugs Don t run wires or cords under rugs over nails or across high traffic areas Don t overload extension cords Here s What you should do during a Fire September 20 Newsletter Fire can spread rapidly through your home leaving you as little as two minutes to escape safely once the alarm sounds Evacuate immediately if you detect heat or smoke Use stairs to evacuate the building Do not use elevators Follow the fire escape route provided by your landlord If fire or smoke blocks your escape route use your second way out If you must pass through smoke get low and go under the smoke and close doors behind you If you need to open a closed door feel the door first If it s hot use your second way out Pull the fire alarm on your way out to notify others of the fire Get out and stay out Call the fire department from outside the home and do not return into the building until the firefighters give the okay
