TERRAIN reflects the relationship between the natural fibers used inthe weave and natural elements used in the built object or space.Mary Corse, Black Earth Series, Untitled (1978) CeramicDia Art Foundation

This collection is a conversation between the organic and the created. Natural fibers are used in this “built” or woven fabric –and the design inspiration is that of natural materials used in works of art and architecture.

Page 4

TERRAIN’s color ways, Timber, Lake, Clay and Sand were inspired by water, wood and earth –and how these essential things are transformed into artistic and functional expressions.

TERRAIN embodies the organic in its materiality and its aesthetic – it feels like life lived in comfortable spaces – of expression rather than rule following. There is a constant interaction between what occurs organically and life guided by what is built – the space or object itself. The neutral color pallet provides comfort and peace – a place to live authentically with natural fibers and the feeling of ease and simple elegance.
