Police Explorer Post 108 What is Police Exploring Law Enforcement Exploring provides educational training programs for young adults on the purpose mission and objectives of law enforcement The program provides career orientation experiences leadership opportunities and community service activities The primary goals of the program are to help young adults choose a career path within law enforcement and to challenge them to become responsible citizens of their communities and the nation Who Can Join The Program Individuals between the ages of 15 21 years old of good moral character Individuals with an overall C average in school and not under any disciplinary action Individuals not involved in any criminal activity Individuals with a desire to learn more about the field of law enforcement Law Enforcement Career Exploring 500 South Greene Street Greenville NC 27834 Emergency 911 Non Emergency 252 329 4315 Information Desk 252 329 4317 greenvillenc gov GreenvillePD GreenvillePD1 2018 Explorers Brochure indd 1 9 7 18 1 30 PM

Involvement Post Meetings Two days out of each month at 7 00 PM at South Greenville Recreation Center 851 Howell Street Fundraisers Participants typically participate in at least 2 fundraisers Community Service Events Participants are required to participate in at community service events throughout Greenville NC Explorer Program Benefits For members Fellowship among youth with similar interests Sense of belonging and utilizing teamwork towards a common goal Ability to develop leadership skills Opportunity to develop contacts with law enforcement officers and other criminal justice professionals networking Opportunity to meet youth from other areas with similar interests Ability to learn and experience the duties of a law enforcement officer Learning important life skills from positive role models HANDS ON LEARNING 2018 Explorers Brochure indd 2 For Departments Better relationships between the department and members of the community who would otherwise be difficult to reach Increased understanding of law enforcement concerns by community members and increased awareness of perceptions of community members regarding law enforcement Increased presence in the community through service projects and other events Extra assistance for events such as The Law Enforcement Officer Down Ride or programs and Celebrations like 4th of July Local youth having constructive activities to spend their time on instead of becoming involved in criminal activity Post Competitions Explorers gather throughout region and states to be graded on safety and techniques which are practiced during meetings Ride Along Offer the opportunity for members to see first hand what being a law enforcement officer entails Cost to Participants Individuals involved in the Explorer Program are not required to pay the yearly membership fee and other costs of the program due to fundraisers and departmental budget Participants will be required to purchase boots and other smaller articles of clothing For more information about the Police Explorers Program please contact Sgt Daniel C Blanchard Youth Outreach Division 252 329 4517 252 378 5147 dcblanchard greenvillenc gov 9 7 18 1 30 PM
