Black Lives Matter Through the Eyes of a White Woman The world is not what we once knew I ve opened my eyes to something I ve never seen When I come to see the life of someone new Become a murder that takes place on my screen I hate feeling helpless for my best friend Who lives in fear as the days go by Fearing that this day her life will end Just to be another news story the media will buy I fear that this hatred will never stop Because those who control this Climb their way to the top While they live their perfect lives in bliss And through all this tasteless chatter

Page 5

The Not So Straight Path of a Girl Named Barbara Roberts Barbie had a set destiny A story line for little girls to follow A teenage girl filled with empathy Who knows the world is a hard pill to swallow Her best friend Ken was supposed to be her lover She liked the idea until she began to notice That maybe it was all just a cover And that she might be able to change her focus She held her head up high And told her viewers of who she admired She looked us all in the eye And gave a reason to be inspired Who knew that a girl who was once considered a plastic plaything Is now telling us that a positive attitude can change everything

The Undesirable Expectations of a Woman The path of womanhood has always had rules Making us live by the word of all the fools The first is a woman must always dress with class stare at your ass The second is that we to be nice and well behaved call you a whore But boys who say that are crude Fourth is that we must never speak Of the event that brings our womanhood to its peak

Page 8

Feeling that everything I am as a woman is wrong brings me anxiety Men love to bring down woman in all shapes and sizes the prizes a woman should always remember Is to always rise from the ashes from a burned out ember Because women are creatures of beauty and might They come in all shapes and sizes that look beautiful in the daylight They take what they want with no questions asked As they make you stop and stare as they walk past Drawn by Allie Lawrence

The Fate of Your Future That always makes everyone snooty Making the conscious decision to vote That could ultimately leave one half on a sour note This time of the year is crucial And can end up brutal Today in the booth I ll use my deft To most certainly vote for the left

A Pawn in the Game Called Life I wish I knew a better way to express my own emotions But I m left with the doubt in have in my heart And it fuels the shame within my brain It fuels the shame that lives in my brain I listen too much to what others will say I listen to what others will say And it burns me m It burns more than what I ll admit I wish someone would tell me what to do I wish someone would tell me what to do Because I m making a fool of myself And it makes me wish I knew a better way to express my emotions

A broken promise to aid a broken heart how far we are apart But for you I would never forget How I always had to change my mindset With a personality that can change almost instantly I still felt the need to come back consistently I still regret throwing you away But I felt that this could no other way I just wish I could take it back into revision

Faded No longer mourn me for when I am dead Just remember me and all that I have said Though I have lived my life in fear I am glad that you have been there to hear With all the bad decisions I have made I will now no longer be afraid I wish I could have done more But keeping up a positive image seems like a chore

Page 14

One thing about me m a traditional writer I use the ol quotation marks and such when I write a story So I felt pretty challenged when I took my screen writing class I only have ine script for you to read and it s pretty long so If you have the time settle in The basics of the story for this script is that a teenager is crowned Princess of her fathers kingdom she comes face to face with someone she thought she could trust but is gravely mistaken It isn t a smooth story It kind of touches over key points that I think are important to the plot I hope you enjoy it
