Community events bring excitement and connection for residents and visitors alike.Resort Tax is vital to the well-being of Big Sky. Vendors participating in these events are required to register with the Big Sky Resort Area District (BSRAD) just like brick-and-mortar businesses.FAQsIs there a minimum amount of sales necessary to be required to collect the 4% Resort Tax?No, regardless of the amount of sales, the Resort Tax must be collected on any taxable goods or services.Are minors participating in events required to collect the Resort Tax?Yes, all vendors, regardless of their age, who are selling taxable goods or services must collect the tax.How do you know that I have registered?All vendors are required to print their REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE, and post it in a visible location.When are vendors required to register with BSRAD?All vendors are required to register with BSRAD prior to participating in any event within the District boundary.If an event vendor is not selling taxable goods or services, are they still required to register with BSRAD?Yes, all establishments operating within the District must register with the District. Vendors who fail to register in a timely manner are deemed in violation and are subject to fines and penalties.Keep in contactThe season may be over, so what do I do now. If you are not returning next season, please reach out and close your account. It ensures visitors pay their share of costs that would otherwise fall on the shoulders of residents.
