This workbook is for you. Practicing the ‘art of peace’ begins with the practice of firstacknowledging that we may have contrasting desires, and thensecondarily, of allowing those desires to be heard, so that wecan begin to release attachment to them. This practice of selfacceptance is often referred to as “Shadow Work”.Practicing the ‘allowance of desire’ addresses ways to beginallowing innate desire to surface easily, without judgment, andhelps to identify the freedom in choosing what to do with thosedesires once they’ve floated into your awareness andunderstanding. We all have parts of ourselves that we’ve hidden away or denied. What would it feel like to let all of you be seen and accepted? You’re on your way to finding out. To ‘embrace the bear’is to step boldly into the paradox of who we are, how we exist, and whatwe can offer. The practice of ‘embracing the bear’ is doing the work of uncovering, understanding, celebrating, and harnessing the seemingly disparateaspects of YOU. It’s deeper than self-love. It’s radical self-recognition,acceptance, and amplification. You are so much more than one thing, and your life was never meant tobe compartmentalized. You don’t have just one superpower - rather thesuper-flex lies in harnessing the unique equation of all of thecomponents of you.
