Message from the ESDAC ChairDear Fellow Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors & Friends:We are in the summer doldrums and some Clubs have simply forgotten to their Club’s activities to qualify for Gov. Gobbi’sEnvironmental Award and Citations. In the next page you will see the requirement for these. Please submit your activates right away. July 26this World Mangrove Day. This date is also the official start of the Summer Olympics. When you arewatching the Paris Olympics, pleaseremember what happened in the Northern Bahamas five years ago. This year, we will work on a program to rebuild the mangroves in the Northern Bahamas. Their mangroves were sucked out to sea when Hurricane Dorian sat on top for these islands for a few days. Hurricane Dorian was a Category 5 storm with winds in excess of 185 mph. No coast line can survive this kind of punishment.Mangroves are key for fishery development and the local Clubs and other entities have been reforesting the coast lines. Together with Gov. Dennis Caltagirone and the local Northern Bahamas Clubs we will develop a plan to assist them in these efforts. We will keep you posted on this program in the next few months and look forward to your assistance with this. Thanks for your support and I look forward to hearing from you. Robert H. Bull ESDAC CHAIR3
