Get To Know Us Jo Perrott started The Ladies Working Dog Group We are a unique TM in 2015 as she was desperate to find the help community of ladies and advice of other ladies training working dogs that provide a safe and fun service to female working dog As a new female handler Jo saw the need for a truly supportive community where women could join together and learn A place where women handlers across the didn t have to worry if a question was stupid or if UK and other she didn t know what something meant countries Today over 3500 women engage with one another to provide a fun and empowering community with The Ladies Working Dog Group is a place where female working dog hundreds of collective years of experience that allows us to offer knowledge and advice to best support other women ensuring you don t feel overwhelmed handlers connect support thrive We put great emphasis on community and support We believe that you knowing the next step in your journey will help you grow in confidence leading to long term success and experience
GLOBAL FRIENDSHIPS FROM YOUR HOME Working dogs is a worldwide pastime and the LWDG has members from across the world Our community is mostly made up of lovely ladies from the UK and from Canada USA South Africa Norway Sweden New Zealand plus many other countries Our members range in age from 18 to 65 years plus and our inclusive welcoming atmosphere ensures every lady is encouraged to collaborate in the daily group conversations We are honoured and humbled to have a 100 retention rate of members and growing support across our social media platforms

What To Expect OUR CORE VALUES 01 02 03 Communication Honesty Support Having people at hand to help you solve a problem is a huge factor to learning as a working dog handler Any time you ask a question in our online Facebook Groups you can be sure that someone will comment quickly with ideas to move you forward Also The LWDG office is open three days a week to answer any other queries you may have Our system is transparent so you can check and control your account at any time whether you have a free visitor pass or you are a fully fledged society member Our membership structure follows our core value of honesty We ll always honour the cost you paid at joining so if our membership rises your costs won t We are committed to keeping membership affordable and ensuring the free community can still receive the support of the group Society Members also benefit from regular interactive opportunites so that they can chat with us directly live with working dog trainers and with the other Society members Training a working dog never takes the expected course It s never a straight path and so we don t want you to struggle alone Post in our Facebook groups email a regional officer or call us Do whatever it takes to help you get past the overwhelm and move forward We will drop emails to you regularly and check that you re ok Regardless of the length of time you have been working a dog your contribution to the conversation is always welcome

The LWDG Success Framework Overview We want to help our members learn the skills they want in a way they love We have 6 main sections of learning Handler Success The Foundations The Novice Dog Intermediate Skills Advanced Handling Sport Specific What s Included Each part of the framework links to all the appropriate training content we offer so members can easily work through those that suit their level Training content will have the correct icons for the areas it covers Where it covers more than one level all relevant icons will appear
Overview We began the LWDG Masterclass Library back in March 2019 It holds an incredible amount of training videos from some of the UK s best trainers Most of the videos are for Society Members access only however there are a few videos we have made available to Visitor Pass Holders Masterclass Library What s Included Every month we provide a brand new masterclass on a range of topics that are of interest to female working dog handlers Some months an additional bonus masterclass is added too so keep your eye out for these We want to help our members learn the skills they want in a way they love We have 6 main sections of learning You can access the masterclass library here or from the bottom page of any of our website pages
Overview The Dog and Duck is our virtual happy hour event every second and fourth Wednesday of the month We created this Zoom event as a response to the Covid outbreak but we love it so much that it s now a permanent feature of our monthly Society Member Calendar Dog Duck Sessions What s Included At each session Society Members join together on Zoom to chat about any problems they are currently facing with their dog handling We then work together to think about possible solutions or ideas It s great fun and true friendships are formed as we get to know each other You can join using the link found on your monthly calendar HERE or from your mobile app or from your monthly What s Happening email

Overview The Handler In The Hotseat event takes place on the third Wednesday of the month at 8pm it is streamed live into The Society Members Lounge on Facebook at 8pm and you can ask the Handler being interviewed any questions you wish about their life and background as a working dog handler What s Included You can join in by visiting the Members Lounge Facebook Group here or from your mobile app or from your monthly What s Happening email We also record and add to the Units Section inside the Members Lounge Facebook Group Handler In the Hot Seat Live Interviews
Overview Regional Country Officers Across the UK we have a wonderful group of women who are Regional Officers Their role is to help you in your region We are also looking for Country Officers to support our community in other countries What s Included These lovely ladies can be contacted through our website hub form our regional page here After Covid restrictions are removed each area will have meet up events that will be advertised to Society Members
group meet ups Overview 2020 was jam packed full of plans for meetup events however COVID changed our calendar We will definitely be reinstating these days once it is possible to do so What s Included High Tech doesn t stop us wanting to have high touch events Once safe to do so The LWDG will rearrange training days and meet up events where members can get together and say hello We are committed in the LWDG to supporting other rural businesses run by women and where possible we collaborate with other female business owners and trainers

Overview We have a huge amount of support and training available for members However we wanted a course that a new person could complete to help them set the foundations of their understanding What s Included The Hot Mess Handler 9 week course launched on the 1st of October 2020 Already over 150 women are engaged in this amazing foundation level course Topics being covered Hot Mess Handler 9 week Basic Handler Course Steadiness Stop Cue Sit and Wait Self Control Retrieving Recall Lost Whistle Heelwork There are 9 weeks of weekly training on the questions around each topic plus a section each week for Q and A course handbook bonus booklets and more
The LWDG Working Dog Certificate Overview Many of us would like to have the opportunity to have our working dogs skills evaluated by experienced trainers The LWDG Working Dog Certificate allows this What s Included The LWDG Working Dog Certificate will be available to enter after December 2020 There will be 4 different levels Puppy Novice Intermediate and Advanced To enter you will need to first watch the criteria videos After watching film your dog completing the same skill challenges and then send the videos to our trainers for group assessment There will be no fail you will either receive a pass certificate or be asked to resubmit once you have improved your skill on the required topic areas Topics being covered Steadiness Stop Cue Sit and Wait Self Control Retrieving Recall Lost Whistle Heelwork Access to The LWDG Working Dog Certificate Section of our website will be available to Society Members From December onwards

FAQ s How much does it cost to become a Can I cancel at any time Society Member Yes but we hope you won t You can cancel really easily from inside your membership dashboard Please note if you cancel and the membership cost has increased you cannot come back as a member at the old price It s currently only 35 to join and try our membership out for the first 30 days then pay only 11 99 per month to be a LWDG Society member Membership payments can be made via debit credit card or via Paypal All transactions are secure at no time do we as a club have access to your payment details All payments are secured by 256encryption as we take your data protection as seriously as you do Why do you limit enrolment periods We are absolutely dedicated to making sure each and every one of our members receives the royal treatment when she joins We limit enrolment to a few times a year so we can create an experience where new members are warmly received supported and guided to all that the Members Club has to offer By holding dedicated enrolment periods we can dedicate time and resources to welcoming each new class of members Can I pay annually We no longer offer this option Can I get a refund We stand behind our promises That means once you join us you have 30 days to claim a refund if you feel like the Society Membership isn t for you After the 30 days we do not offer refunds There are no refunds on LWDG clothing or the Magic Month planner due to the nature of the products Do I need to have a working dog to join No not necessarily We welcome passionate newcomers What are Masterclasses We partner with brilliant experts to create content we know our members want and need Each month the skill being taught will be a skill that our members are looking to master in the areas of dog control dog obedience dog temperament hunting and retrieving Masterclasses are included free of charge within your society membership cost
