OSMPL would like to introduce our newest Library
Clerk Roxanne.
Roxanne has lived in the Stewart Hall
community for 25 years. She has raised two
wonderful daughters and have three adorable & amazing
grandchildren.
She retired from a career in the civil service during Covid
and wanted to find meaningful and pleasant part-time
work. When an opening for Library Clerk at the Stewart
Hall & Bailieboro branches became available, Roxanne
jumped at the opportunity to fill that meaningful and
pleasant part-time work she was looking for. "I get to serve
my neighbours, and community in the best way possible. I
also get to share my love of reading with others and help
patrons find the books they are looking for. I love the kids
who come in weekly with their parents or caregivers to get
their refreshed stash of books."
Along with informing patrons about all the wonderful
benefits of OSMPL membership, such as access to
provincial portion passes, interlibrary loans, or Libby—her
newest favourite pastime—audio books, Roxanne also
enjoys learning about the genres that the library's patrons
are reading.
"The staff of OSMPL she adds are also passionate about
their jobs and that shows in how they treat their patrons
and new staff like me...who wouldn't love working here?"
October is Fire Prevention Month
Be sure to pick up our “Fire Safety
Tips From Firefighter Pete” kit aka
Pete the Cat at all branches while
supplies last. The kit includes
colouring pages, crayons, Pete the
Cat stickers and helpful tips for
kids.
October 20-26 is Ontario Public Library Week
Highlights the valuable role libraries, librarians, & library
workers play in transforming lives & strengthening our
communities.  At OSMPL we strive to be...
"The heartbeat of your community."
