Against his better judgment, he teamed up with a couple of colleagues to create the documentary, “When We Went Mad.” It’s a feature-length movie that focuses on the history and cultural impact of Mad Magazine. For generations, MAD Magazine shaped and warped its readers’ senses of humor and their very outlook on the world around them. From the McCarthy hearings and the Cold War to Taylor Swift and social media, MAD Magazine was there to poke fun at all of it.The movie includes interviews with MAD’s editorial, illustration and writing staff. When word got around that people were taking this project seriously (as serious as a film about a wacky magazine can be) some big name fans wanted in. The movie features interviews with Quentin Tarantino, Judd Apatow, Bryan Cranston, Gilbert Gottfried, Howie Mandel, and Weird Al Yankovic. The world theatrical premiere was in New York last year (Of course it was, right?), and in Detroit shortly after at the Redford Theater. Removing bass can lead to an overgrowth of species like bluegill, which may disrupt the lake’s ecological health and affect fishing quality for everyone. However, residents are welcome—and even encouraged—to remove non-native carp or overabundant bluegill. These fish can be repurposed as a natural fertilizer for gardens, offering a sustainable way to improve soil while supporting the lake’s health. Please help us preserve our lakes for future generations.
