The REA still exists to this day. The REA was initially paid for by electricity companies. Some of those companies still exist today also. This act has shaped America to be the way it is today.


The Rural Electrification Administration is a program created to provide electricity to people living in rural areas. Before this act, only about 10% of farmers had electricity. This act improved the lives of farmers. It made their jobs easier and also improved their daily lives.

  10. He died in office April 12, 1945.
