DEPARTMENT UPDATES OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS SLT 2 0 The Operational Excellence OE team has been working to provide LBMS training to SLT for 4 hours every week to redesign the site leadership team s way of working with developing leadership This program is designed to help our leaders become the leaders our personnel want and deserve Please thank the SLT members you see for taking the initiative to undertake this transformation OE has been busy Improving the number of site conditional released raw materials Conditional release refers to use of a material before testing is completed This is done by taking significant measures to ensure we control and contain the finished product until testing is completed and approved While this process is robust it is not the best way to operate and increases the risk of costly failures to the business An OE project is underway to eliminate the conditional release need for the site We have also recently hired two OE managers Rossana Hurley and Bianca Plourde RECENT ROADBLOCKS 1 Open Position for OE Project Manager UPCOMING PROJECTS In general the Portsmouth site releases a finished batch in about 88 days Lonza would like us to be able to do so in 49 days This 39 days of release time results in delaying revenue to the business and can impact delivery to our customers The OE team has just begun a project to help the site reach the 49 day timing OE will be transitioning to an OpEx center of excellence in Q4 This model will utilize our team to build new skills and capabilities across the site empowering everyone to help themselves In the next several weeks we should have our cross functional trainings for 6S and Problem solving providing training and support as we implement the learn do teach model across Portsmouth
