3President’s Corner Pat Bauer – President ECOA Summer Travel; Discovery; Adventure; Relationships; Networking; Nostalgia. RVing is, to be sure, all of that and more. We could wax philosophical about the RV lifestyle, what it means to us and what motivates us do what we do. But in the end, there’s always a return to our roots and hopefully a degree of satisfaction for a life well-lived. And that always brings us back to our roots.!June 5th this year, we had such an opportunity as we (ECOA) returned to our roots where it (the club) all began in 2013 at our founding. Early that year, an email invitation was sent out to all the people who had purchased an Entegra Coach in their early years, announcing the first-ever Entegra Rally in July. The location was Hearthside Grove RV Resort in Petoskey, Michigan. Many of us immediately signed up, having been owners of other brands with Rallying experience. Medarda and I had been part of a very enjoyable regional club in a different brand coach, and were motivated to stop and discuss the possibilities and parameters of forming a club around the Entegra Brand with the powers that be in Middlebury.!Once we got to the rally at Hearthside, we talked with the Rallymasters, Tom & Regina Searles, to seek their thoughts about setting aside some time to discuss this idea with the owners of the 54 Entegra Coaches in attendance. During those few days, we had many of those discussions about the RV lifestyle and why we bought-in to the Entegra brand, and what our goals were with these new rigs. Out of the 54 coaches, 30 passionate souls signed up on the spot, and we completed the application paperwork to form a club. Our Mission Statement was simple: to visit great locations, provide opportunity to make friends and build new relationships, share our experiences and knowledge of equipment and lifestyle, and foster Returning to our Roots: Where it all began.

4networking among the members present.!Fast forward to present day; some 12 years later, June 5th of 2025, as we welcomed Rally goers at a reception hosted by Robert & Christy Proost at their lot in Hearthside. We were also joined by several of our club officers and even had some Charter members present. !For Medarda and I, as Founders and club officers for these 12 years, it was a return to our Roots. The masterful elegance of Hearthside Grove has blossomed as it has somewhat quadrupled in size as a resort. We hosted a meal in the main clubhouse with our members, and returned to the Newell Theater where we made our original pitch for starting a club. !After our membership exploded in those first couple of years to over 1,500 coaches nationwide, our membership has fluctuated between 1-2,000 member coaches as owners get in and out of RVing. But over these 12 years, we have touched the lives of over five thousand Entegra Coach owners across North America and hosted over 120 Rally Events in the United States and Canada. During this time, Medarda and I have tried our best to remain true to our original mission: great locations, provide for fellowship, education, and networking, and of course revisit friends and plan new experiences. Many people have helped us along the way, and as we turn the page, we sincerely hope a new leader will arise to continue the legacy of ECOA, not as a step back, but rather as a step forward into becoming a legacy brand in 2026.!

9Spring is in the air, well at least the spring pollen is in the air!! There are benefits to every season we experience, whether it is the weather or in life.! We do our best to be prepared for each season, but sometimes things just happen that are out of our control.! Spring is a heartfelt season, it’s a time of rebirth, flowers rise again from the ground, farmers plant the seed for the next harvest and so many other things.! When it comes to our lifestyle of Luxury RV living, the spring is a chance to “reset”.! For many of you, the southern coast of the US has been your home for the last few months.! Most likely you have plans for a return North or just to travel the rest of the States with better weather.! As we depart from our winter stay, whether you were in your coach all winter or it was in storage, there are several things to prepare before hitting the road again for the summer.! Ok, for the “spring cleaning”, now is a great time to replace those a/c filters for a fresh, clean start.! Take the time to change out water filters and get a good sanitation in the fresh water system. As you should before every trip, work through the chassis pre-trip list, checking tire pressures and fluid levels. Check your sealants, roof and sides, making sure there are no voids that will lead to water intrusion. Now is also a good time to declutter, all the “stuff” you thought you needed for your winter stay, doesn’t necessarily need to travel with you all summer!! As you declutter, you can also watch out for the pesky hitchhikers that will always try to squeeze their way in to every available space they find.As we travel this spring, and time fly’s by, take time to pause in this season with family and friends to celebrate the sacrifice of a risen Savior, who gave us a time to “reset” our lives for a new beginning.Where ever your travels take you, make the best of it and do it in an Entegra Coach!! !PJ ClantonEntegra Coach Technical Training Entegra Coach Customer support 800.283.8267PJ’s Insight

You and your Furbabies Medarda Bauer Secretary Traveling in an RV with pets can be an amazing bonding experience, but it takes some planning to ensure their safety, health, and happiness. Here are some ideas you might consider when rving with your fur babies. 🛡 SAFETY 1. Secure Travel Crates or Harnesses Use crash-tested carriers or pet seat belts to secure your pet while the RV is moving. 2. Climate Control Use temperature monitors and backup fans or AC systems to avoid heatstroke. Always check RV interior temperature settings before leaving pets alone. Set your Auto-generator start feature prior to leaving and engage pet/climate start. 3. Pet ID & GPS Tracker Make sure pets are microchipped, have updated tags, and consider GPS collars in case they get lost in unfamiliar areas. AirTags are also useful. 4. Screen Doors & Barriers Install pet-proof screens or baby gates to keep them from darting out the door when it’s opened. The gates are also useful if you wish to contain the pets to a particular area while you are sightseeing. 5. Leash Rules Always use a leash or a tie-out line, even in remote campgrounds, to protect from wildlife, traffic, or other pets. If the temperature is extremely warm, check the asphalt or concrete paths before allow allowing your dogs to walk on them. If you are concerned, purchase the little boots that keep their feet from burning during their walk. 6. First-Aid Kit for Pets Include bandages, tweezers, antiseptic, vet wrap, and medications. Know the nearest emergency vet location wherever you travel. Check with your veterinarian to see if there are any medications you should carry on a long trip. Taylor and Shadow Bauer

Page 11

❤ HEALTH 1. Routine Schedule Stick to their feeding and bathroom schedule to avoid stress or digestive issues. 2. Fresh Water Always Available Use no-spill travel bowls or collapsible ones. A pet water filter may help with changes in local water. 3. Proper Ventilation Open vents or use window screens for airflow. Never leave pets unattended with no ventilation. 4. Travel-Friendly Food Storage Use airtight containers to keep food fresh and pest-free. Bring extra in case stores are far apart. 5. Vaccination & Medical Records Keep digital and physical copies of your pet’s health documents, in case of vet visits or campground requirements. As a side-note, there are many national veterinarian groups. You might consider using one as your primary veterinarian. If there is an issue, you can go to the same veterinary group where all records are computerized for ease in diagnosis or knowing what your pet has had or not had. 🎾 ENTERTAINMENT 1. Interactive Toys Puzzle feeders, treat-dispensing toys, or snuffle mats to keep their mind busy during downtimes. 2. Pet-Safe Chews & Bones Keep them occupied while you drive or set up camp. 3. Outdoor Playtime Bring a portable pet playpen or long lead. Check with campgrounds to see their rules on having a small pet area on your site about 855 feet. 4. Walks and Hikes Explore pet-friendly trails. Use apps like AllTrails with a pet-friendly filter. 5. Pet TV or Music Some pets relax with background sound. Try “dog TV” or calming music playlists while on the road. 6. Social Time Visit dog parks or pet-friendly attractions when possible. Social interaction helps avoid cabin fever.

Did you know Love’s Travel Stops offers a growing network of RV-friendly locations across the United States, providing convenient and well-maintained spots for RV travelers. As of early 2024, Love’s has expanded its RV network to include 51 locations with a total of 1,130 hookups. To find a Love’s RV Hookup near you or along your travel route, you can use the Love’s RV Stops website or the Love’s Connect app. These platforms allow you to search by state, city, or zip code and filter results by amenities such as full hookups, Wi-Fi, and pet-friendly sites. J Many Love’s RV Stops are adjacent to travel centers and offer additional amenities like sports courts, fire pits, grills, dog parks, and playgrounds. Most locations provide 30- or 50-amp electrical service, water hookups, propane tank services, laundry facilities, and water hookups. Most locations have RV dumps at each parking spot. Pricing for individual sites can be found on the Love’s app or at LovesRVStops.com and varies seasonally and based on occupancy. Prices range from $37 to $48 per night. It’s generally best to book in advance for the best rates and take advantage of senior, military, and Good Sam discounts. Most locations offer a limited number of discounts for weekly and 28-day stays.

Keith Coyle ECOA Vice PresidentChanging a slide motorThings break when you least expect it but isn’t that how owning a coach usually goes.! The wife and I went to this year’s annual homecoming at the Elkhart Fairgrounds in Indiana.! Side note we had a great time.! We headed out when it was over and drove to Sandusky Ohio to see the wife’s family.! The trip was non eventful so that is always a good thing.! The trouble started when we started to setup.!! I had the wife start opening the slides and when she got to the big slide on our 44B I heard an awful sound.! So, I went to the second big bay door on the drivers’ side and looked up to the top of the basement, had the wife hit open and I saw the motor kind of torque sideways and then make a grinding noise as it started to open.! I knew that the motor gearbox was finally shot.! The bright side to the situation was that it failed while the slide was in.! I called Entegra parts and ordered a new motor to be shipped out.! So, this article is going to be about how to change the slide motor.! The good thing is that if you buy the big slide motor to carry with you as a spare it can always be used on any of the other slides albeit slower but it will work. So, to get started you have to gain access to the slide motor.! As stated before, the driver side slide motor is located in the second big bay door.! The opposite side slide is about the same location and you can’t miss it when you look up.! The bed motor, if on the driver’s side, is under the bed.! The vanity motor unfortunately is in the passenger side rear wheel well and a pain to get to unless you can jack up that side high enough to take off the motor cover. Figure 1 shows the slide motor attached to the bottom of the floor.! There are 4 bolts that hold the motor to the bracket.! Tech tip those should be checked for tightness periodically.! Should be snug but don’t overdo it as you can strip the mount bolts.! Don’t loosen those until you have the shear pins removed as shown in Figure 2.! There are two cotter pins that Fig 1, Mount bolts for slide motorFig 2, Shear pins w/cotter pin, 1 each side of motor

Page 17

17need to be removed one on each side of the motor.! I found that if you can get the motor to turn ever so slightly it makes getting the cotter pins out easier.! Now you have to remove the shear pins on each side of the motor.! If you can get small punch about the same size as the shear pin it will make getting those out easy as well.! Once again, I was able to position motor shaft in such a way that made getting them out easy.! Then you need to disconnect the power wires that you can see in Fig 3.! Entegra wraps them up with electrical tape that you will need to remove to get access to the wire nuts that connect the wires together.! On my coach the red wire coming from the slide motor connects to the white wire on the coach side and the black wire connects to the black wire on coach side as well.! It’s pretty easy as the wire nuts just twist together to connect the wires together.! Now that the shear pins are out and power disconnected you can remove the 4 mount bolts that I’m pointing at in Fig 1.! While holding the motor slide the torque tubes that are on the motor back and out of the way.! Motor should slide right out now.!Installation is just the reverse process.! One caveat that I did to help with the install was that I used a drill battery once the motor was bolted back up to the bracket to spin the shaft and align up the holes.! Once the holes are aligned its was easy to put it back together.! The cost of the motor was just over $500 from parts.! Some say you can get one cheaper on Amazon but if it doesn’t have the same torque rating as the Klauber motor then the slide probably won’t open.! I hope this helps someone who might have to change the motor.! It will save you some money by not calling a mobile tech if you have the tools to accomplish the job.! If you have any questions just reach out to me.! keithcoyle@hotmail.comFig 3, Power wires, Red goes to white wire and Black to black wireFig 4, Mounting bracket bolts screwed to the bottom of the floorFig 5, Slide motor part number K01431B300

This year Dave and I decided to remodel our coach, a 2022 Entegra Anthem, 44B. After living in this coach full-time for 3 years it was definitely time for some upgrades. The carpet on the slide was one of the first things we decided to change – there is just no way to clean the strip where the slide comes up.! We asked and asked Entegra if there was a way for the carpet to be replaced with tile. All answers were a resounding NO! We were planning on changing the furniture and taking out the front TV anyway so when I contacted Kurt at Wood Design in Nappanee and he assured me the carpet could be replaced with new carpet from Graber’s Flooring. !We had a plan until … Michael Natinsky posted on Facebook that he replaced his carpet with tile and it worked just fine. I immediately contacted Kurt and said could you all do tile instead. After many discussions we became their test coach.! When Gene (the owner of Wood Design) saw Michael Natinsky’s coach at Homecoming he sent Kenny directly to our coach for measurements. After another discussion it was determined that we should try to find a vinyl laminate that matches our tile. It will be less weight on the slide and they work with wood!! While we were at Wood Design getting the TV replaced with a cabinet, and the rest of the carpet replaced. !We headed to Lowes to see if we could find the matching laminate and did.! Wood Design needed some time to plan and get parts from Entegra so we headed to Michigan for a couple of weeks. We did pick up the new furniture at Lambright Comfort chairs along the way.Upgraded interior: the di!erence a few changes made Brenda BertinoFront cabinet

When we got back to Wood Design I, of course, added a couple more small jobs. I had the Valance legs replaced with beautiful trim. Wow! Did that open the windows. I had storage boxes made for behind the chairs to hide the wires and extra seat belts. ! A few days later the slide floor is done. I cannot believe how wonderful it looks and it’s washable! We cannot say enough about the people at Wooddesign. The quality and workmanship are second to none! Nate, our installer, is so meticulous about detail and even added trim where I would not have thought to put it. !If you ever thinking about remodeling the coach these are the people to call. Just tell them Brenda and Dave sent you!New trim around the windowStorage boxes behind the chairsCarpet removed from slideCarpet removed from slideCarpet removed from slide

“Shall We Go, You and I, While We Can?”Terry Walker, ECOA National DirectorAs promised in my last writing, we left Vail, AZ on April 1 to travel – (by way of TX, OK, IL, IN, MI, WI, MN, ND, SD and WY) - to Great Falls, MT by July 20 to begin our Fantasy Tour 63-day Alaskan Adventure. I’ve learned that you can have more interesting experiences by not traveling in a straight line.%So far, our travels have included –• NIRVC Customer Appreciation Rally at TX Motor Speedway,• Visiting my former company President at his home on Monkey Island, OK,• More Doctor appointments in IL than I care to think about,• Entegra Homecoming – now that was enlightening,• Becky’s and my 60th high school class reunion,• Coach Service at Spartan,• ECOA Rally at Hearthside Grove in Petoskey, MI,• The Upper Peninsula of MI – does that qualify us as Yuppers• We stayed at the Manistique Lakeshore Campground and visited The Fayette Historic State Park -highly recommend both!• Spent 5 nights in Medora, ND• We attended the Pitchfork Steak fondue dinner before going to the Medora Musical – this is in it’s 60th year of presenting an original new high quality musical. Medora is also the home of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park which is also a wonderful experience!%As you all know, each new day in your RV brings a new adventure – and we’ve had a few of those – some of which are as follows:%We visited Mackinac Island during the Lilac Festival.% As you are aware, there are no vehicles allowed on the Island – so you either walk or take a horse-drawn cart to get around. We took the Island tour - It was an amazing sensory experience – horse poop and lilacs!%While traveling across Northern Wisconsin we had a black bear run across the road in front of us. In all our years traveling in the mountain west we never had this happen!%Mackinac Island -horse poop and lilacs!

Page 24

%Have you ever made a food selection error at a Buffett? At a breakfast buffet at an RV rally I often have biscuits and gravy. At one such rally I picked up a biscuit and thought the nearby bowl was the expected sausage gravy, so I spooned some over my biscuit. I soon learned it was actually yogurt! The only saving grace was that I was not the only one to do this!%More recently, we stopped at a C-store to buy some sub sandwiches. We found that they had a station where we could make our own sandwiches from a variety of ingredients offered.% Becky was thrilled that they had chicken salad, and she made a nice sandwich only to find out later that she had made a potato salad sandwich!%The only way I am comfortable in admitting all of this is that I know for a fact that all of you reading these faux pas have committed equally dumb actions!%Time to sign off now and continue our efforts to chase the Cottonwood tree bloom across the nation!% Thought we left it behind in IL but unfortunately, we just seem to be catching the peak% Cottonwood season wherever we go. To paraphrase the movie American Pie – “this one night after a travel day” we encountered what we thought was an electrical “BUZZing” noise coming from the rear bath vanity area. The problem with that is there is nothing electrical back in that area that would cause that sound – thought it might be a problem with the electrical motor on the slide out but that was just guessing. The BUZZ was shaking the entire slide-out wall – it would be impossible to sleep through and being paranoid thought it might create a fire SO called ENTEGRA after hours service. While waiting for the return call I looked down into the void alongside the cabinet and saw something on the floor – the something was pinned up against the wall by the wiring along the floor when the slide was moved in and out. That something turned out to be my mustache and beard trimming kit that I had not secured, and it had fallen onto the floor. The kit got pinched against the wall by the wiring when the slide moved – that action turned the clipper on – that clipper resonating against the wall made it sound like the rear of the coach was coming apart. It was somewhat humiliating to explain this to the tech on the Entegra call back.%We pulled into Medora Campground only to find that after 3 days of towing Jeep Gladiator was dead! Tried jumping it from the coach with no success. A Seasonal employee of the CG offered to a jump from his pickup – despite holding out no great expectations – we tried it and it worked. The Jeep has continued to start BUT there is a warning light on the dashboard to service the push button start system – it seems that the push button start has a separate battery/charging system. Hopefully I can get it serviced before heading out to Alaska.Finale at Medora Musical
