Through study of such topics as Child Development, Curriculum Develop-ment, and Child, Family & Community; as well as practical exposure through practicum placements in licensed child-care programs, students gain the knowledge and experience needed to apply for certication as an Early Childhood Educator.RMC oers a variety of ECE programming and students may choose from one or more of the following:DIVERSE CURRICULUMRidge Meadows College works closely with Katzie First Nation to embed local Indigneous content throughout the curriculum. ECE programming is devised with anti-bias content to ensure students graduate with a deeper understanding of how they can apply principles of equity, diversity and inclusion in their career. ONLINE ADVANTAGEThe majority of our ECE courses can be taken online. Through use of our MyRMC student system, students can communicate with peers, answer discussion questions, take quizzes, view videos, submit assignments and more while still attending lectures virtually through Zoom.All curriculum electives and some other classes take place in-classroom at our Maple Ridge cam-pus to ensure students obtain hands-on experience with creative art, music and movement, math and science and other key skills. ECE - ASSISTANTFor students just getting started, an ECE Assistant designation allows you to begin working in the eld. Many of our students obtain their ECE Assistant certication prior to commencing studies so they can work during their program.
