Reflective EssayWhen people think of poets, I feel as if they think of them asetiquette, sharp-witted, perceptive, and artistic. And I would agree. However, they are much more distinctive and complicated than onewould think. They take poetry writing to a whole new level and pour allof their emotions into their work and it becomes a beautiful piece ofart. Their poem pulls at the reader's heartstrings and changes howthey look at the world and it makes them become more perceptive ofeverything that goes on around them. Important characteristics ofgreat poets are their approach to their subject matter, their writingstyle and formal aspects, their dedication to their literary goals, andthe impact of their poetry on future generations. I personally have notever thought of myself as becoming a person who writes poetry fora living. But in order to expand and educate myself in the writingfield, I have to be taught every form of writing in order to become awriter of great stature. I will say that I find poetry enjoyable andmore deep than writing you would find in a regular book. Writers areable to write amazing stories with many different adventures; poetsare able to write alluring poetry with whichever emotion they arefeeling. Poetry gives you a voice that you can disguise with word play. And if those are smart enough to distinguish it, they might listen andmake some noise as well.2

Character is Destiny: “Losing Nemo:Marlin never found Nemo. He grew into great despair and secludedhimself from everyone. One day he decided to leave his home to find a newone because he couldn’t stand living there with the memories of his family. But just like his wife, he was taken by the same predator.Dory forgot all about Marlin and their adventures after two days becauseof her short term memory loss. She lived out the rest of her life not knowingwhere she was, where her family was, or the time she spent with Marlin;all alone in the deep blue sea.The sharks still went to their meetings, but after a while their hungercaught up to them. They went back to the ways of the shark and neverlooked back to what they were trying to accomplish. Fish are food, notfriends. The fish that Nemo spent time with in the tank never escaped andwatched more fish die due to the hands of the little girl. They grieved forNemo and wished they could’ve done more.As for Nemo, he was already dead before he could make it back to theocean. He suffered the fates of the many fish before him, being shaken todeath in a bag and thrown away.Everyone that had any interaction with Marlin, Dory, or Nemo, movedon with their sea life. They often thought about them and wondered wherethey were now and how they were doing. To their knowledge, they werealive and well, but Dory was the only one who lived out of the three.7
