Departing from Laxey, we encounter our first Neolithic site, KingOrry’s grave, before tracing the picturesque coastal path towards KirkMaughold. Our journey persists along the west coast,leading southwards to the antiquated village of Cregneish and theSound. Once you have completed half of your lap of the course, you will thenstop off at the Isle of Man Motor Museum. The museum boasts anextensive collection of over 500 unique vehicles ranging from thegroundbreaking Ford Model T to local hero Conor Cummins’ 2009Kawasaki ZX-10R and John McGuinness’ 2004 Honda RLR 400, alongwith an array of TT race machines from riders such as Joey Dunlop,Richard’ Milky’ Quayle and Steve Hislop.Duration: 1 day (4 or 6 hours)Highlights: Enjoy a private guided tour of the Isle of Man. After spending time at the museum, you will board the bus andcomplete the lap of the TT course, with time to take photographs onthe winner's podium. Departing Castletown, we drive a short journey to Cregneashvillage, which is one of the oldest open-air folk museums in Britain.Today you can step back in time to see how crofters used to liveand work in a farming community on the island. Thatched roofManx cottages showcase the stories, skills and craftdemonstrations. After a visit to Cregneash, we then visit The Sound,which is at the island's southernmost tip. On arrival at Laxey you will board the Sneafell Mountain Railway,which winds it way up to the top of the island's only mountain. Therailway is a unique Victorian enterprise, which is around five mileslong, and has been in operation since 1895. It is the only electricmountain railway in the British Isles. Peaked at 2,036 feet above sealevel, you may be able to see some or all, of the Seven Kingdoms -England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, the Isle of Man and the kingdomsof heaven and the sea.Duration: 1 day (4 or 6 hours)Highlights: Enjoy a private guided tour of the Isle of Man. After a leisurely start, we head west to visit St Johns and learnabout its Viking Heritage. We also visit Tynwald Hill in St Johns. Ashort hop brings us to Peel, where we can see Peel Castle and theHouse of Manannan. Heading south, we stop at Knockaloe and then onto Niarbyl for theIsland’s most stunning scenery. Carrying on, we reach the Soundwith views over to the Calf of Man and then visit Cregneash, thehome of Manx cats and the Manx Loaghtan sheep.Then, we visit Balladoole, a multi-period site covering the BronzeAge, Iron Age, Early Christian period, and a Viking ship burial. Ourlast stop on the tour will be Castletown, home to Castle Rushenand The Old House of Keys. Isle of Man Vikings and CastlesContinued...We board the Isle of Man Steam Railway late afternoon, travellingon Britain's longest narrow gauge steam line from Castletown toDouglas. On arrival in Douglas, a bus will wait to transfer you to thehotel. DAYPrivately transfer to Douglas sea terminal. After a leisurely start, we head west to visit St Johns and learnabout its Viking Heritage. We also visit Tynwald Hill in St Johns. After breakfast, we will board the bus and travel South toCastletown, winding our way through the Manx countryside. Castletown is the Isle of Man’s ancient capital, and here you willvisit Castle Rushen, one of the best-preserved castles in the world. Itis a magnificent fortress with imposing walls and towers. From thebattlements, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surroundingcountryside. Following the castle visit, we will take a short walk to the Old Houseof Keys, where the Manx parliament, known as the House of Keys,used to meet. Built in the 19th century, it has been beautifullyrestored to its former glory, with original furnishings, portraits, anddocuments on display.After some free time, you will board the bus and take a trip toCregneah, a living illustration of a farm and crofting community inthe 19th and early 20th centuries. This is followed by a stop at The Sound, located at the island'ssouthernmost tip. The area offers panoramic views of the Calf ofMan and is an excellent place for seal spotting. We will then all rejoin the bus for a short drive to Port Erin, whereyou will have some free time to explore before boarding the StreamTrain for its journey back to Douglas.Duration: 5 nights / 6 days Highlights: A guided tour of the Isle of Man. Isle of Man Discovery Continued...DAYAfter breakfast, board the bus for a trip to Peel, stopping at StJohns, home to one of the island's most distinctive landmarks,Tynwald Hill. After some free time, the bus will continue the shortdistance to Peel, where you will visit the House of Manannan, whichwill guide you through the island's rich Celtic, Viking and maritimepast. After some free time, the bus will head north to Ramsey, where youwill visit Fynodree Distillery for a tour with some tastings. Your journey back to Douglas can be taken along the island's coastroad with stunning coastal and countryside views. In the morning, we will visit the Manx Museum in Douglas to learnabout the island's history before a mid-morning journey on theManx Electric Railway to Laxey. Once in Laxey, you will board the Mountain Railway for this journeyto the Island's highest peak, Snaefell. The railway is the only electricrailway in the British Isles. On a clear day, the views at the topinclude England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Once back in Laxey, you will have time to visit the great LaxeyWheel or Lady Isabella as she is known. The wheel is the largestwaterwheel in the world and a brilliant example of Victorianengineering. Today, you can join our optional Isle of Man TT experience or havesome free time exploring at your own pace.After breakfast, we will board a bus for a lap of the world-famousIsle of Man TT circuit. The tour includes a guided lap of the world-famous TT Course withan expert—a must-do for any racing fan visiting the island. You willlearn about some of TT’s rich history, from its humble beginningsback in 1907 to the most recent event, where top racers wereclocking speeds over 200mph and completing laps at average speedsexceeding 136mph.Once at Sulby, the fastest straight on the circuit, we will turn off theTT circuit and visit one of the island's biggest secrets, the Isle of ManMotor Museum. At the museum, you will have time to explore the amazing storiesbehind a collection of over 500 unique exhibits from around theworld, including classic cars & motor vehicles and rarely-seen privatemotorcycles.In the early afternoon, the bus will return to Douglas, rejoining thecircuit and travelling through Ramsey before climbing over themountain section and dropping back down to Douglas.Isle of Man Discovery Continued...DAYYour holiday ends today, and you say goodbye to your fellowtravellers. The museum is home to over 500 unique exhibitsfrom around the world, including cars and motor vehicles andrarely seen private motorcycles. It is a must-visit for anypetrolhead.
