DCDC’s 50-year journey from 1974 to 2024 hasbeen one of growth, impactful change, and resilience madepossible by everyone’s commitment to our mission.In the past year, we have witnessed remarkableachievements as we celebrated our 50th anniversary. Ourprograms have expanded and our teachers and leadershave enriched our essential services and advocacy byreaching more families and community stakeholders.Together, through collaborative efforts and innovativeinitiatives, we are fostering a sense of hope andempowerment among our DCDC community.In DCDC’s Annual Report, we are proud to highlight themilestones we achieved, the stories of lives inspired, andthe financial stewardship of donations. In 2024, we recognize the remarkabletenure of our dedicated andaccomplished staff members. CHEERS FOR 50 YEARS!On February 4, 2024, Danville ChildDevelopment Center celebrated it’s 50thAnniversary. Since this was on a Sunday, weinvited 75 of our closest alumni, friends, families,community partners, and more to join us for acelebratory breakfast to honor DCDC’s milestoneon Monday, February 5. We had the pleasure ofhaving Ms. Karen Shanoski join us, who is our co-founder, Dr. Kathleen Mulligan’s daughter. Wereceived recognitions and proclamations fromSenator Casey’s office, State RepresentativeStender’s office, the Columbia Montour Chamberof Commerce, and many more. It was a great wayto ‘kick off’ the start of many more 50thanniversary celebrations to unfold in 2024.Respectively, our March and April celebrationsoverlapped with our annual Raise the Region andDueling Pianos fundraisers.In May, we had 140 of our closest families,children, alumni, staff, and community partnersjoin us for an aerial photo (seen below) with photocredit to VirtuStudios365, live music by ChrisMarcera Music (a currently enrolled child’sfather!), and Project Pizza Company food truck.We hosted our first Snack N Shop event with 4food trucks and 10 local small businessvendors/yard sale stands as well as raffles inJune.Our 50th anniversary celebrations do not stopthere as we have at least one more event plannedeach month until December, so DCDC’s 50th yearreally stands out as a remarkable one!DCDC ANNUAL REPORT 2023-2024 5

Watch usgrow to 2074!Level 3 - $150.00 for 150 Yearsmore! Watch us grow to 2174!On March 13 and 14, we went live withour Raise the Region campaign askingfor support toward our commitmentto celebrate 18,250 more tomorrowsof DCDC.Thanks to all the generous support ofdonors who are passionate aboutearly childhood and DCDC’s future, wewere able to raise over $5,460.00.Thank you to the First CommunityFoundation of PA and all ouroutstanding donors!DCDC ANNUAL REPORT 2023-2024DCDC RAISES THEREGIONDUELING PIANOSINTERNATIONALOn Friday, April 19, DuelingPianos International tookthe stage at the Pine BarnInn for DCDC’s annualfundraiser. We had 8 SilentAuction donations and over 42 raffle items for a total of50 donations!This year we also received a generous donation fromBrookside Nursery of an October Glory Maple Tree. ThisPromise Tree Raffle at the Dueling Pianos event was acollective promise that, as our community grows andblossoms so will this tree. It symbolizes our mission andvalues, representing our promise to nurture our childrenand staff as they grow and blossom as individuals and as acommunity of learners. It will take 10-12 years to fullymature, reaching 20 feet, providing shade and beauty foryears to come on our Bloom Rd playground.The winner of our raffle was Candy Ryan, DCDC BoardPresident, and she won the privilege of dedicating this treeto whomever she wished. DCDC created an honorableplaque to adorn the location of the planted tree. DCDC promises to commemoratethe dedicator’s name for years tocome, just as we promise tonurture all our children, staff, andcommunity stakeholders, so we allcan grow and blossom together.Dueling Pianos 2024 was a greatsuccess, raising over $14,817.00!Save the Date for our next DuelingPianos on Friday, April 4, 2025 atthe Pine Barn Inn! 10
