Golf School District 67 Newsletter Vol 1 Transportation After a thorough bid process Golf School District 67 has selected North Shore Transit to provide transportation for our students We continue to use A B Bus Service for two of the five routes Outsourcing transportation allows us to redirect our resources into our schools and facilities maintenance A dedicated page on transportation is located on our district website http www golf67 net OrganicLife a leading provider of healthy lunches in the State of Illinois is our new food service provider Their meals focus on whole grains fruits and vegetables and a proper nutritional balance All of their foods are nut and peanut free Our food is prepared daily at Niles Township High School District 219 to ensure fresh meals for our students Students seem to like the variety of food choices being offered One parent commented I can t believe that my child is eating vegetables now and liking them A PUBLICATION OF THE GOLF SCHOOL DISTRICT 67 BOARD OF EDUCATION 2015

Golf School District 67 Newsletter Vol 1 2015 On September 17 2015 the Golf School District 67 Board of Education approved the District s 2015 2016 Budget The District once again Revenues prepared and filed a balanced Golf School District 67 s primary source of revenue is from property taxes budget with the State of Illinois Over 90 of the District s revenue is generated from property taxes unlike the 64 of Illinois school districts who are currently deficit spending Despite the uncertainty of state funding and tax appeals the Administration believes we will maintain and achieve a balanced budget The Administration will continue to remain vigilant in being good financial stewards for the District The District s 2015 2016 budget can be viewed on the District s website Click here to view the 2015 16 budget Expenditures The Education Fund is the District s largest fund It contains 73 of all expenditures which equates to approximately 7 600 000 The next two largest funds are the Debt Service Fund and the Operations and Maintenance Fund Ongoing Professional Development Professional development is an important part of our students success in District 67 Here you see K 2 teachers participating in writing workshop and technology training A PUBLICATION OF THE GOLF SCHOOL DISTRICT 67 BOARD OF EDUCATION

Golf School District 67 Newsletter Vol 1 2015 Spotlight on Technology Golf School District 67 has drafted a five year technology plan to ensure that teachers will integrate and use technology in their instruction in order to provide all students with a rich learning experience The district administration will provide seamless technology systems aligned with District 219 for academic and administrative purposes As partners in the Classrooms First Initiative we will upgrade our classroom technologies with new computers interactive whiteboards and a variety of professional development opportunities for our teachers Kids Can Code K 5 STEM District 67 through the Classrooms First partnership is offering a FREE series of STEM classes that will introduce computer programming coding animation robotics and engineering to all K 5 students Parents are to attend all four 45minute sessions with their child Sessions will be held at Hynes Elementary School Please use this link to sign up for the event Please contact Cheri Kids Can Code Dates and Times Massaro at chemas d219 org with any Wednesdays 10 14 11 4 12 9 1 10 questions Times Grades K 2 at 4pm or 6pm Grades 3 5 at 5pm or 7pm A PUBLICATION OF THE GOLF SCHOOL DISTRICT 67 BOARD OF EDUCATION
