Some people believe it is your guidance system, used for spirituality or religious beliefs. Others think it’s connected to a vocation, such as a purpose-driven career; and others see it in life itself (i.e., everything we do and say). People’s view of purpose can also change over time due to varying circumstances, such as a life-changing experience which offers a different perspective of thought and contradicts a once-believed, subjective opinion. Your purpose is the deep need within you to fulfil that which is meaningful.

You’ve heard people using the expressions: “I just felt the need to do something about it,” or “I was born for this.” Some say they were no longer fulfilled doing the thing they once loved. “I believe we will never truly know what our purpose is, as the people we meet and experience throughout our life’s journey is the PURPOSE. That means you need to complete all 4 self-actualisations sections of the Journal. HOW TO COMPLETE THE JOURNAL The 9 Days on Purpose Journal has been written and developed for you to complete sequentially. While some of the self-actualisation exercises are self-explanatory, some may be a little more challenging. In this respect, there are some examples of how to complete the activities at the back of the journal. It may also be helpful to ask someone who knows you to help you to complete some of the sections. Most of the journal will be done as part of your day-to-day life and career; and, as such, you can expect to see, hear, and feel the changes as you achieve personal growth and development. In nine days, you will accomplish transformational change in your life and career as you complete tasks and goals while simultaneously drawing on your passion, excellence, dreams, desires, wants, and requirements. In the 9 Days on Purpose Journal, the thought-based approach of self-actualisation exercises will let you live your life on purpose based on what you know about yourself. These perceptions effectively govern how we think, hear, see, and communicate. DIY COACHING & MENTORING Once you have completed your journal, it can act as your personal companion to working with a mentor, professionally qualified life coach, or career coach. A life coach is someone who can support you in overcoming challenges/obstacles and keep you in alignment with who you were born to be. A career coach will support you in ensuring that your personality aligns with your calling, guiding you to your purpose-driven career. A mentor is someone successful in their chosen profession/career. They act as a trusted advisor who can introduce you to key contacts and resources and act as a role model and advisor. Both coach and mentor will give you motivation, inspiration, encouragement, and support while holding you accountable to your words in wanting to achieve. For Business Sake © All rights reserved 38 PRINCIPLE ONE LIVING IN CONSCIOUSNESS, FREE FROM JUDGMENTS AND ASSUMPTIONS As you have just written and acknowledged your achievements, challenges, accomplishments, and all that you aspire to, you can now grasp how inappropriate it is to judge or make assumptions on anybody else’s life and career. Judging someone negatively says more about the person judging than it does about the person being judged, as it is based on a subjective and limited opinion. Some great examples of this can be found in the book The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. Judging people by our standards is a common mistake made by all of us at some point in our lives. We tend to think that just because we would never do a particular thing, never say a certain thing, treat someone in such a way, etc., that no one else should either. We forget that we are all on a journey and are all following different paths. Along the way, each of us reaches levels of enlightenment that others are yet to experience or have already achieved. Appreciating that everyone reflects on challenges faced, achievements attained, wants, needs, and desires are acknowledging that we all have a purpose. We are all thriving to fulfil it in our own unique way. Who are we to judge or assume?
