Dorchester Sports FC started in 2007 when a group of friends decided to give Saturday football a go, starting in Dorset Division 4, Ashley James decided to take on the managers role and has been in place ever since, the first season saw a league and cup double with a 3-0 win over Westover Spartans at the County Ground, the following season Sports would go from strength to strength with a 52 game unbeaten run from the previous season saw them Division 3 Champions, unfortunately this time the cup final would go against Sports losing 5-3 to Thorncombe at Bridport, This was to be the Clubs last cup final until today. Division 2 would be harder for the Dorchester team spending 4 seasons in that Division before finally getting promoted in 2nd place losing the league title to rivals Balti Sports FC only on goal difference, one season followed in Division 1 and it would again see us promoted finishing in third place, we then spent two seasons in the Dorset Senior League, one poor season was followed by a very positive one which saw us promoted to the Dorset Premier Football League. A move to the Avenue stadium happened in the same season. Two good finishes in the first two seasons on 59 points settled us into the league nicely, 3 seasons of midtable then followed before a brilliant season saw us finish third only on goal difference to Merley Cobham Sports FC, they also beat us in both Cup semi-finals played that season, this year we again finished third losing out to Champions Bournemouth Sports FC and again for runners up spot to Cobham Sports on goal difference. Dorchester Sports FC are in pole position to be Promoted into Step 6 for season 2025 2026 and are just awaiting confirmation from the FA as to their success and which Step 6 League they will be allocated into. On behalf of the League, we wish ALL connected with Dorchester Sports FC the very best for next season in Step 6. Today will see the following mascots representing DSFC • Phoebe Hutchings • Freya Hutchings Dorchester Sports FC

Hamworthy Recreation Football Club was formed in 1948 as Hamworthy Engineering FC and played on the Sports Ground opposite the factory at Fleetsbridge in Poole (where the Tesco supermarket now stands). When the site at Fleetsbridge was sold to Tesco in the late 1980’s the football, along with the Sports & Social Club, moved to its current home at Magna Road, Canford Magna. At that time ‘Hamworthy Engineering FC’ were playing in the Bournemouth League (Division 1). The Club won the Bournemouth Senior Cup in the 1988-89 season, and after winning the Division One Championship in 1991-92 ‘The Rec’ successfully applied to join the Dorset Combination League for season 92/93 when they finished 3rd. Success soon followed when the Club won a hattrick of Combination League Championships in 1993-94, 1994-95 and 1995-96. 'The Rec’ have lifted the League Championship Trophy on another eight occasions, 2000/01, 2001/02, 2004/05, 2009/10, 2010/11, 2014/15, 2017/18 and 2018/19. The Club have won the League Cup on five occasions - 2000/01,2006/07, 2007/08, 2013/14 & 2014/15. ’The Rec’ consider that their greatest achievement was in 1995, when not only did they win the League Championship, but they also won the Dorset Senior Cup, defeating Weymouth Football Club from the Southern League by 3 goals to nil at Magna Road in the Semi-Final, and Poole Town FC, another Southern League team, 4 - 1 in the Final. The 2001-01 season saw the Club change its name to Hamworthy Recreation FC to reflect the name of their current headquarters. Our proud boast – we’ve never finished below 6th since Ham Eng. joined the Combination in 1992/93. Hamworthy Recreation FC has had ambitions to progress into the Wessex League having either won or been runners up in the Dorset Premier League for several recent seasons. After football leagues were curtained for the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 Seasons through the Coronavirus pandemic our First Team continued its good form in the DPL for the 2021/2022 season by winning both the League and Cup Competitions. During 2022 with funding support from the Football Foundation and local sponsors we managed to get the ground upgraded to have floodlights and a 50 Seat Stand and so have progressed to the Wessex League Division 1. In our first Season in Wessex League Division 1 we had a slow start but managed to finish fourth. In the play off for a Premier League place we lost in the semi-final. Our Development Team also had a successful season by winning the Hampshire Combination and Development League (West) to progress to the HCDFL Premier Division for 2023/2024. In a successful 2023/2024 season our First Team won the Velocity Wessex League Division 1 title with five games to spare and without a loss to gain promotion to the Velocity Wessex Premier League for 2024/2025. And in our first season in the ISUZU FA Vase, we reached the fourth-round proper only losing to the Jersey Bulls on penalties. The season was complete when the First Team won the Dorset Senior Cup. We are now a fully Dorset club for the 2024/2025 season with our Reserves returning to the Dorset Premier League and the U18s joining the Dorset Football League U18s. Hamworthy Recreation FC
