Domestic violence is a deep-root ed issue t hat affects over 10 million adults in the Unit ed St at es each year. When we t alk about domestic violence people tend to only think about physical violence, but abuse has m any form s and can include psychological abuse, financial abuse, cont rol, and emotional manipulat ion as well.People need to be com passionat e when dealing wit h domestic violence survivors. Children also experience abusive situat ions and are forced t o process complex emotions, often wit hout access t o resources. We should m ake sure these children who are in a vulnerable state have access to counseling program s so t hey can express themselves about t heir sit uat ion. Domest ic violence can happen t o anyone. There is not one part icular type of person or specific background. However, t here is hope for those individuals.
