I want to thank the members of Treasure Valley FOP Lodge #11 for their hard work in setting up theconference here in Boise. Pres. Ostrander and the Lodge #11 Board, Paul Jagosh, Emily Daniels andI’m sure several others have been in the background setting up sponsors and vendors, eveningevents, and more to make sure those who attend have an enjoyable time. It’s a lot of work gatheringsponsors and putting these pieces together, and the sponsors and information in this conferenceguide is evidence of just that. Please take the time, whether you are here at the Conference or joiningremotely, to go to our sponsors websites and social media pages and see what they have to offer foryour lodge and our profession. TheIdaho FOP is over 2600 members in 30 local lodges, with local lodge leaders who step up and careabout our members and everyone in our Profession. They should be commended for giving you avoice and working together with lodge leaders to take care of those who take care of ourcommunities. If not for those leaders, then who would be there for that. Among the many reasons to join and benefits from being a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, ultimately, we come together to take care of each other. We are a family of dedicated LawEnforcement Professionals with a highly skilled and complicated job that continually challenges us.I’m humbled to serve as just a small piece of what the Idaho FOP does for our Profession. From thestate level, your Executive Board is dedicated and works together to make sure Idaho is wellrepresented in all we do. The Idaho Fraternal Order of Police Political ActionCommittee was created to support candidates who supportlaw and order and support law enforcement officers. The FOPhas a saying “Law and Order is the Safeguard of Freedom.” Noone knows the dangers of an officer more than officers. Wealso know the dangers of elected officials who enact pro-crimelegislation that puts officers and citizens in danger.Look no further than states and cities that enact pro-criminal,anti-police laws and you will see violence and chaos. Don’t letthat happen here in Idaho.‘Progressive” elected prosecutors have vowed not to enforcequality of life crimes. When quality of life crimes are no longercharged, quality of life ceases to existThe Idaho FOP has invested thousands of dollars andresources into lobbying against policies that put our citizens indanger. We have supported candidates who support law andorder. We have stood up to criminal justice reform that puts citizensin danger and turns communities into crime zones. We need your help now more than ever!Make no mistake, there are “defund the police” efforts inIdaho.IDFOP POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE
