Drew Sheard for the opportunity to serve asthe Elect Lady of the International Department of Evangelism in theChurch of God in Christ, Inc. We are also extremely thankful to theIDOE President, Pastor Gary Sprewell for allowing us to provide thisforum for women who have heeded to the call of evangelism.Thank you for joining us in this thought-provoking Masterclass. Mother Mary K. SimsMother Mary K. Sims is a native of Kansas City, Kansas. A registered nurse, she holds aBachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. At the age of eleven, Mother Sims was saved and received the baptism of the HolyGhost. She married the love of her life, the late Bishop Ervin Sims, Jr. on Valentine’s Day1970. She served in ministry with her husband at the Mount Carmel COGIC, Kansas City,KS for 40 years. Mother Sims has served in ministry in the following capacities: Director of the Music andMedia Department; church organist, coordinator of Membership Training Class; laycounselor, and director of Women’s Ministries. Mother Sims, a licensed evangelist missionary, has devoted her life to ministry. Inaddition to serving her local church, she has served as the keynote speaker for retreats,conventions, and women’s day services. She has held numerous positions in her churchexperience over the past 45 years: on the local, district, and national levels. One ofMother Sims’ greatest life-changing experiences was going to Ghana, West Africa eachyear with her husband to minister to the families in Ghana, helping them, especially thewomen in leadership and their children. On March 10, 2001, Mother Sims launched an international women’s ministry called“Sarah’s Daughters.” This ministry reaches out to women of all denominations, races,cultures, and ages. Its goal is to train, equip, empower, and encourage women outsidethe four walls to maximize their potential and use their God-given gifts and talents inkingdom building. In 2005, Mother Sims was installed as Supervisor of Women for Kansas EastJurisdiction. She served in that capacity from 2005-2012. Mother Sims was appointedto the National Executive Board of the International Department of Women in 2010. In2015, Mother Sims was recognized as one of COGIC’s 150 influential women. In March 2017, she was appointed by Bishop John M. Johnson as Supervisor of Womenof Missouri Western Second Jurisdiction and formally installed by Mother BarbaraMcCoo Lewis. Mother Sims now serves with Mother Lewis as Administrative Facilitator,Benevolent Units, and Empowerment Initiatives. She was also appointed in 2018 asPresident of the International Executive Board of The Department of Women. Mother Sims is devoted to her family. She and the late Bishop Ervin Sims, Jr., had beenmarried for almost 50 years and have three children: Lisa Sims Smith (Keith), ErvinJason (LaSandra), and Angela Jenelle. She also enjoys her role as a grandparent to herseven grandchildren: Kasey, Keith Donavon, Kristian, Taylor, Jaylen, Ethan, and Jayla. She continues to serve faithfully in her local church under the leadership of her son,Pastor E. Jason Sims and First Lady LaSandra Sims.

“IDENTITY CHECK”COURSE FOCUS:To assist Evangelists on how to minister the Word of Godwith love to all people. COURSE GOAL(S):Provide information to give a broader perspective on howto compassionately minister effectively.INTRODUCTION:This session will consist of seven questions that wereposed. The instructor will provide her perspective on eachquestion. COURSE OUTLINE:1. How can Evangelists effectively minister to people who identify as LGBTQIA+? 2. How should Evangelists minister the word of reconciliation to broken people in the LGBTQIA+ community?3. Is the end-goal for today’s discussion to help Evangelists learn how to lead people who identify as LGBTQIA+ to repentance, conversion, and how to serve Christ according to the Holy Scriptures?
4. Are additional conversations needed to help people of the LGBTQIA+ community who are converted to become disciples of Christ?5. What do the PRONOUNS that the LGBTQIA+ community wish to be addressed by mean, and what is the thought process behind the said PRONOUNS?6. Why is there a surge of discourse about the topic of PRONOUNS within the body of Christ today?7.
