Olive Branch Petition: Olive Branch Petition(July 5th, 1775)- John Dickinson wants King
George to think of people and not just a way to make money. He wants reconciliation between
Britain and the Colonies. King George took it as a war threat. He armed the British Troops and
sent them to the Colonies to enforce his policies even more than they were.The Olive Branch
Petition, drafted on July 5, 1775, was a letter to King George III, from members of the Second
Continental Congress, which represents the last attempt by the moderate party in North
America to avoid a war of independence against Britain.It was adopted by the second
continental congress.
Virginia Declaration of Rights: Virginia Declaration of Rights (1776)- Stated the
birthrights of every man. One of the rights was to choose their government. The Declaration was
adopted unanimously by the Fifth Virginia Convention at Williamsburg, Virginia on June 12,
1776 as a separate document from the Constitution of Virginia which was later adopted on June
29, 1776. The Ten articles were first drafted on May 20th- May 21st 1776. He based this
Document off of early Declarations like the English Bill of RIghts
Declaration Of Independence: of Independence (July 4th, 1776)- This document
recognizes the Colonies as their own independent country. The document was drafted on July
2nd but was signed on July 4th. This Became the United States day of Independence marking
the day we split from Great Britain. This was also adopted by the second Continental Congress
in the Pennsylvania State House. Declaration Of Independence was written by Thomas
Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman, John Adams, Robert R. Livingston - Reenactment of the signing of the
Declaration of Independence. This was signed in the Pennsylvania State House on July 4th,
1776. It was adopted by the second Continental Congress. Declaration Of Independence was

Treaty Of The Alliance of France: Treaty of Alliance with France (1778)-this
document dragged France into the Revolutionary war as an ally to the Colonies. They
supplied the COlonists with ships and better weapons. It was a defensive alliance
Between The Colonists of North America and France. If it hadnt been for this treaty the
Revolutionary war may have ended DIfferently. France and the colonists corned
Cornwallis. Cornwallis surrendered to the Colonists allowing them to create their own
nation and win the war. - This is the
explanation of the role of France and Marquis de Lafayette. It talks
about how Lafayette trained the soldiers at Valley Forge and How
France supplied the COlonists with a navy and modern guns.
U.S. Constitution: Constitution ( 1789 and then again in 1992)- The Constitution states every
right that every U.S. Citizen has and it also lays the pathway to a successful future of the united
states by giving the rules to create our government. It includes the Preamble, Articles, and
Amendments. It gave the rules of our President and our Vice President and how they are
elected. It lays out rules for every single election.
