1Hello Everyone!I hope you have been enjoying the milder than average winter this year. If you take a look at your catalog you will see that we are trying something different this spring/summer. We will be offering classes in July and early August and then we will take a break during September and start up again in October. This is an experiment and you will all get a chance to tell us if you like this new schedule or not. Why are we doing this? Well, we wanted to offer more opportunities to be out and about when the weather is nice. We have added some extra events at Ironwood Springs and we are also planning some picnics, walks and scavenger hunts.Coming up on Saturday, August 3rd, we will be kicking off a yearlong celebration to mark 50 years of Community Education in Rochester. We will be hosting this at Cascade Park, where there will be food, fun and lots to see and do. More information coming about this soon, but for now save that date!Speaking of celebrations. We would like to offer a display of arts and crafts that we have done together over the years. If you have any items that you have made with us, you are invited to submit them for display. We will ask people to pick their favorites on the day and will be offering prizes for the top choices.I want to end my letter by remembering two of our participants who passed away in recent months, Melanie Kutter and Travis Hatcher. We miss you both at our classes and send our sympathies to your families and friends.Best wishes,StephanieCOMMUNITY CONNECTION Spring & Summer 2024
