Featured Speakers BEVERLY E SMITH National President Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc Beverly Evans Smith is the 26th National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc Initiated into the sorority through the Epsilon Omicron Chapter at Bowling Green State University in October 1967 she has served Delta in many capacities among them are her tenure as National First Vice President 2013 2017 National Secretary 20082013 chair of various regional and national committees 2002 National Convention Coordinator and Executive Director 1998 1990 She has also been an active member of the Marietta Roswell GA Alumnae chapter for over 30 years Smith recently retired as the Assistant Commissioner and Georgia State Director for Adult Education and GED Testing through the Technical College System of Georgia TCSG The Office of Adult Education administers federal state wide Adult education grants provides adult education training programs for over 69 000 Georgia and supports local literacy action programs throughout the state As an entrepreneur Beverly is also the Senior Vice President of The HR Group Inc a management consulting firm co owned with her husband Stephen for thirty years As a corporate manager she spent eighteen years in leadership positions with AT T Southern Bell As an educator Beverly was a college administrator at Kent State University Ohio and Georgia State University among other teaching and administrative positions Smith has served on several community Boards and Commissions including the Boy Scouts of America Atlanta Area Council County United Way Girls Incorporated and as the Cobb County Commission s appointee and Chair of the Cobb County Board of Elections Registration for eight years 2005 2013 She also received of many honors and awards Beverly and her husband of fifty years Stephen live in Marietta GA They have two children son Brian Rashan Ali Smith daughter Stacy Jason Frazier and five grandchildren CELEBRATING R E D Revitalizing our city Educating our communities through Dedicated service

Featured Speakers DR SARAHJINI NUNN SPENCER Midwest Regional Director Dr Sarahjini Nunn Spencer is a native of E St Louis Illinois She currently resides in Springfield Illinois and is employed by the Illinois Department of Transportation IDOT as a Chief Contract Administrator where she administers over 3 5 billion in transportation contracts yearly As an advocate for self improvement and education Sarahjini leads by example by attaining a Bachelor of Science in Business from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville SIUE a Master of Public Administration from the University of Illinois Springfield a Master of Business Administration with a focus in Project Management from DeVry Keller Graduate School and a Doctor of Education in Interdisciplinary Leadership from Creighton University Her commitment to education is also demonstrated through the Elevate East St Louis Scholarship Fund that she co founded with her brother to assist graduating seniors from East St Louis who will matriculate at SIUE She also serves as an Instructor of Organizational Leadership for Lincoln College As an advocate for self improvement and education Sarahjini leads by example by attaining a Bachelor of Science in Business from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville SIUE a Master of Public Administration from the University of Illinois Springfield a Master of Business Administration with a focus in Project Management from DeVry Keller Graduate School and a Doctor of Education in Interdisciplinary Leadership from Creighton University Her commitment to education is also demonstrated through the Elevate East St Louis Scholarship Fund that she co founded with her brother to assist graduating seniors from East St Louis who will matriculate at SIUE She also serves as an Instructor of Organizational Leadership for Lincoln College Sarahjini is a dedicated public servant who truly believes that service is the rent we pay while here on earth As an active and committed member of the Springfield community she lends her time to a variety of organizations boards and commissions including the Springfield International Visitors Commission Springfield Community Foundation NAACP and Illinois Minorities in Government Sarahjini is the recipient of several awards and accolades including the Distinguished Service Award from the Illinois Black Caucus the Secretary s Pin and Administrator of the Year from IDOT Exemplary Leadership Award from the National Forum of Black Administrators the City of Champion s Award from the East St Louis Community Initiative and the Springfield Women of Distinction Award She was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta through the Epsilon Xi Chapter at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and is has been a member of the Springfield Decatur Area Alumnae Chapter for over 25 years She is a Diamond Life member and has served in several chapter leadership roles including Committee Member Committee Chair Chapter Treasurer 1st VP and Chapter President She as also served on both the regional and national level as Member of the National Leadership Academy Member of the National Collegiate Transition Taskforce DID and MIT Trainer Advisor State Social Action Coordinator State Coordinator and her current role as Midwest Regional Director where she oversees eight states and the Province of Ontario She is happily married to Mr Evans Spencer III bonus mom to twin daughters Kelsey and Kobe grandmom to Kace and Kolden and puppy mommy to Dempsey CELEBRATING R E D Revitalizing our city Educating our communities through Dedicated service

Featured Speakers REVEREND REGINALD WAYNE SHARPE JR Senior Pastor Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church The Reverend Reginald Wayne Sharpe Jr first born child of Reginald Sr and Fay Phillips Sharpe serves as Senior Pastor of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago Illinois succeeding Pastor Charles Jenkins in January 2020 Sharpe is a proud native of Lithonia Georgia a product of The Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church The House of Hope Atlanta and continues to be impacted by the church s two most recent pastors the Late Reverend Hubert Floyd Shepherd and Dr E Dewey Smith Jr Sharpe earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from Morehouse College in Atlanta Georgia 2013 a Master of Theological Studies degree from Vanderbilt University Divinity School in Nashville Tennessee 2016 and a Master of Theology degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia 2018 Sharpe is one of the proud charter members of the Academy of Young Preachers and was one of the youngest inducted into The Martin Luther King Jr Board of Preachers at Morehouse College in 2018 Sharpe taught as an Adjunct Professor in the Religion and Philosophy Department at Morehouse College Among his many distinctions he is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated Currently Sharpe is a member of the second cohort of students pursuing a Ph D in African American Preaching and Sacred Rhetoric program at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis Indiana Rev Sharpe faithfully served as Campus Pastor of the House of Hope Macon for 3 5 years Under Sharpe s dynamic and Spirit led leadership the church grew from 0 to over 1000 members Because of his service to the church and community commitment to bridging the gap between spirituality and social activism and his unique approach to multi generational ministry Sharpe was awarded a Key to the City in January 2017 Sharpe coordinated an ecumenical prayer vigil in honor of the Emmanuel 9 organized the first Black Lives Matter rally in Middle Georgia vicinity and advocated against domestic violence gun violence and economic disparities in Macon Georgia Although Rev Sharpe is mostly known for his preaching ministry those closest to him know that he values quality time with family and friends is a committed student of theology and homiletics and believes that you are never too important to be nice to everyone In December 2015 Rev Sharpe married his best friend the gifted and talented Brianna Sullivan Sharpe Together they serve in ministry and currently live in Chicago Illinois CELEBRATING R E D Revitalizing our city Educating our communities through Dedicated service
