Schools, frompreschool to college, are not just places of academic learning but also spiritualbattlegrounds. Every campus, whether high school, university, or elementaryschool, influences the minds and hearts of young people. These students willone day become the leaders of businesses, communities, and governments, making it all the more important to ensure the influences on them aregrounded in Christian values. When we claim our campuses for Christ, we bringlight into dark places and provide a spiritual foundation that will help guidestudents through life's challenges.A spiritual awakening can be sparked on campuses when believers boldly sharetheir faith and pray for God's guidance. Campuses are often where manystudents first confront questions about faith, identity, and purpose, and theyneed the hope and truth that only Jesus can provide. As students encounter theGospel's transformative power, they can experience personal and spiritualgrowth, leading to changed lives. Through Bible studies, prayer walks, and actsof service, Christians can cultivate an environment of grace, love, and spiritualrenewal. This shift can impact entire campuses and beyond as students bringtheir newfound faith into their homes, friendships, and future workplaces.Strong spiritual leadership on campus is vital for creating an environmentwhere students can freely grow in their faith. When leaders rise up and take astand for God, it creates a ripple effect that encourages others to step intoleadership roles themselves. These leaders provide guidance and a powerfulexample of authentically living out one’s faith. By organizing prayer gatherings, creating Bible study opportunities, and living with integrity, spiritual leaders oncampuses inspire others to do the same. They lay the foundation for a strongChristian community rooted in God’s Word, and by doing so, they help preparethe next generation to boldly live for Christ in every area of their lives. We arecalled to be the light in the world, and campuses are a key place to start shiningthat light. Let’s commit to being instruments of transformation and claim your campus forChrist!C

Bible studiesprovide a structured time for individuals to gather togetherand study Scripture, discuss faith, and pray for oneanother. The beauty of a Bible study is that it opens thedoor to deepening one’s relationship with God andencourages spiritual accountability. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17,we are reminded, "All Scripture is God-breathed and isuseful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training inrighteousness, so that the servant of God may bethoroughly equipped for every good work." These Biblestudies serve as a foundation for biblical knowledge andgrowth that students can carry with them throughout theirlives.S3
A Parent-Only Bible study - Provides parents with adedicated space to strengthen their own faith, gainsupport, and discuss ways to spiritually guide andnurture their children. This can help parents deepentheir understanding of scripture and better equip themto lead by example at home and in the broadercommunity. It also allows parents to build relationshipswith other Christian families, creating a network ofsupport and encouragement.A Student-Led Bible study - Empowers students to takeownership of their spiritual growth. This encouragespeer-to-peer mentorship and fosters a sense ofresponsibility for their faith. It provides a platform forstudents to share their insights and encourage oneanother. Parents and faculty can be invited to attend. This can also be done in small groups for largecampuses.Parent and Student Bible study - Strengthens thespiritual bond between parents and children, providinga platform for families to study the Word of Godtogether. This can facilitate meaningful conversationson faith, morals, and character development, reinforcing Christian values at home and school.Campus-Wide Bible study - Students, parents, andfaculty can come together to discuss the Word and thenjoin in unified prayer for their school community, personal needs, and the broader world. This reinforceda Christ-centered campus culture.Bible Studies Can Include Students, Parents, And/OrFaculty. Consider these options:

Students can make posters or flyers to encourageparticipation.Don’t forget to incorporate prayer into thesegatherings, lifting up the needs of the school and askingGod to empower the participants in sharing their faith. Remember Colossians 3:16: "Let the word of Christdwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing oneanother in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns andspiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts toGod."Action TipQuick start a Bible study by identifying a few students, parents, or faculty members open to gathering andbuilding a Bible study group. Reach out to thempersonally and invite them to join you in planning andstudying God’s Word together. Begin with a short, focused study on a passage that encourages faith, hope, and practical application. Make it interactive byallowing everyone to share their thoughts, prayerrequests, and ideas for building the group. As the groupgrows, encourage participants to invite others andestablish a regular meeting time. Pray for God’sguidance and for hearts to be receptive to His Word!
BUILD GOOD PRAYERAND BIBLE READINGHABITS uilding strong prayer and Bible reading habits isessential for personal and collective spiritual growth.Encourage students and parents to develop a daily routineof spending time in prayer and reading the Word. Regular prayer allows believers to be moreaware of the needs around them while reading the Bibleequips them with the truths they need to share the Gospeleffectively. Prayer is an essential part of our personal lives, but it alsoencourages us to keep a positive mindset, trust in God'sprovision, and stand firm in our faith. In Philippians 4:6, weare reminded, "Do not be anxious about anything, but inevery situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." B4

Sharing Bible verses, personaltestimonies, and prayer requests can spark conversationsabout Christ and open the door to deeper discussionsabout faith. In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus tells His followers,"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannotbe hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under abowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light toeveryone in the house." Social media allows believers to bea light in the world by using their platforms to share God’struth.I5
Sharing events, such as Bible studies, fellowshipgatherings, and prayer walks, can help expand thereach.Invite, invite, invite! The Bible encourages us totestify to God’s goodness and faithfulness. Psalm 107:2 says,"Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—those heredeemed from the hand of the foe." Praising God foranswered prayer is a way of declaring His faithfulness andcelebrating what He has done in small and large ways.Showing others that God hears and answers prayer buildsfaith and strengthens the body of Christ. Seeing the powerof prayer in real life encourages them to pray morefervently and believe that God can change circumstances. This encourages fellow believers and creates an invitingatmosphere for those who may not know Christ yet.S6
Consider having people give “praise reports” in Biblestudies, prayer groups, or social media to publiclypraise God for His power and love. Encourage video testimonies from people who havereceived answers to prayer.Students can make bulletin boards or digital displays intheir schools to share stories of answered prayers. Answered prayers can also be widely disseminatedthrough email and newsletters.A blog can be created to write and share these positivestories online.Start a “prayer jar” where people write down answeredprayers on slips of paper and drop them in. It allows people to share prayer requests, ranging from personal struggles to school-related issues. When multiple people pray for the same need, it amplifiesthe collective faith and invites God’s presence to movepowerfully. "Again, truly I tell you that if two of you onearth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done forthem by my Father in heaven" (Matthew 18:19).CA prayer chain fosters a sense of community on campus, showing that you are not alone in your struggles. Events can vary from smallgatherings, such as game nights or prayer groups, to largeroutreach events like concerts, guest speakers, or worshipnights. Believers should gather together, encouraging eachother in love and good deeds and creating opportunities togrow in faith through community. "And let us consider howwe may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit ofdoing, but encouraging one another—and all the more asyou see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:24-25).HStudents can invite their friends, allowing non-believers towitness firsthand what it means to follow Christ and feelwelcome to explore Christianity in a non-judgmental,relaxed setting. Here Are Some Ideas For Gathering:8
Make the gatherings accessible and inclusive to helpcreate a space for students and families to buildrelationships, grow in their faith, and boldly share theGospel with others.Bring back old-school potluck suppers! Encourage (butnot require) people to bring their favorite food.Consider a themed dinner such as Mexican food, barbeque, potato bar, etc. These are always a hit! Justensure you have people RSVP so you have enough foodfor those who show up. Plan a Christian movie night with popcorn, drinks, andsnacks.Plan a group outdoor hike. Consider doing it at sunriseor sunset. Pause to pray throughout and read scriptureat your destination. Action TipPlan and promote an outreach event once a semester, such as a youth fellowship night. Use social media andword of mouth to invite as many people as possibleand encourage students to bring their friends. Afterthe event, invite attendees to participate in a follow-up Bible study or small group to continue buildingcommunity.
ENGAGE IN ACTS OFSERVICE ON CAMPUS cts of service are a tangible way to show Christ’s love oncampus. Serving others through organized efforts allowsbelievers to demonstrate the love of Christ in practical ways. When they engage in these acts of service, they becomewitnesses to the Gospel, showing that their faith is not justabout words but about action. "Dear children, let us not lovewith words or speech but with actions and in truth" (1 John3:18). These acts of service create opportunities to interactwith non-believers, sharing the love of Christ without everneeding to speak.Additionally, acts of service can foster unity within thecampus community, drawing people together to work towardcommon goals. When others see Christians actively servingwithout expecting anything in return, it creates an invitingenvironment where people may be more open to hearingabout Jesus and exploring faith. These acts demonstrate thatChristians care deeply about the well-being of others, helpingto break down barriers to the Gospel.A9
Collect canned food and dry goods for a food pantry.Clean up the school campus or a local park.Split up into small groups and clean up yards for theelderly.Have a blanket and clothing drive for the homeless.Include coats, gloves, warm socks, scarves, and hats forwinter months.Collect school supplies and backpacks for needy kids. Offer tutoring services for struggling students.Consider These Ideas For Community Outreach:Action TipOrganize an off-campus service day a few times a year.Sharing God’s love and light in the communities whereyou live, work, and attend school is essential.Afterward, host a thank-you gathering whereeveryone can share their experiences and praytogether for the continued impact of the service.
