About the Illustrator Sofia Brummitt is a student at The School of Ballet Theatre Company and a member of the Junior Corps de Ballet She is a senior at Glastonbury High School and has received high honor roll recognition throughout high school Sofia will attend the School of Visual Arts on scholarship in Fall 2023 In addition to dancing Sofia is an accomplished artist She has received three recognition awards from the Scholastic s Art and Writing regional competitions for works she has completed in school Sofia started her Graphics internship with Ballet Theatre Company in 2020 and since then has done illustrations for Snow White The Nutcracker Aladdin and Cinderella the Dance a Thon and BTC s Community Youth Enrichment Program

About the cinderella ballet Ballet Theatre Company shared its beloved fairytale classic Cinderella on April 29 and 30 at The Bushnell s Maxwell M Ruth R Belding Theater The production featured original choreography by the company s Artistic Director Stephanie Dattellas set to Prokofiev s joyful score In addition to the two public performances the Company has set itself apart by expanding the magic of Cinderella to one sensory friendly performance and one abbreviated performance held exclusively for students across Connecticut Beautiful technique artistry unexpected comedy and drama are all interwoven throughout Dattellas Cinderella storyline casting a wide spell of enchantment to delight audiences of all ages The Sensory Friendly Ballet is open to the public for people of all ages Local children s advocacy agencies are also be offered tickets to this special sensory friendly theater experience The Characters Cinderella In this classic fairytale the orphaned Cinderella is forced to be a maid to her cruel Stepmother and two nasty Stepsisters Her essential kindness and courage in the face of adversity inspire fairies to help her dreams of true love come true The Prince The Prince of the kingdom soon to be crowned king is advised by his parents to find a wife The Step family Cinderella s cruel Stepmother takes every opportunity to torture and humiliate her stepdaughter Her Stepsisters are just as cruel and mean as her mother while constantly competing with each other Fairy Godmother Cinderella s Fairy Godmother shows up to help her deepest dreams come true Spring Fairy The Spring Fairy transforms her torn dress into a beautiful glittering ball gown Summer Fairies The Summer Fairies bring Cinderella a crown to adorn her head Autumn Fairy The Autumn Fairy brings a pumpkin which she magically turns into a carriage for Cinderella Winter Fairy The Winter Fairy presents Cinderella with glass slippers
