Hugo is the master trainer of trainers for the LAC world, focusing on theleadership of churches, networks and in-country partners. Hugo met hiswife, Miriam, in medical school. Upon obtaining his medical license, heestablished his initial residency in a rural medical outpost. As a committedChristian, he understood that preventative and transforming training thatrethinks poverty at a local community level was even more valuable thanthe prescriptive medical practice. As a leader of Medical Ambassadors,Hugo connected with Global CHE. He pioneered this movement thatchampions best practices and partnerships with impoverished people inover 126 nations globally. Dr. Hugo’s ministry has activated over 300communities in Latin America. Of these, 200 are active, and 75 aremultiplying in clusters. Hugo GomezWhen Hugo Gomez arrived in the community of El Tizate to show theJesus Film, Felipe was disturbed and proceeded to fling pebbles and dustat this intrusive visitor. “Outsiders always do us harm,” he had beentaught. Felipe grew up struggling to find his daily bread. He did not own apair of shoes and did not finish elementary school; indeed, he wasilliterate.
