PREDISCOVERY CONTINUED COACHING The College Confidence Program SOLUTIONS OVERVIEW CCC SCHOLARS The College Confidence Coach and The College Confidence Program were uniquely designed for students and families who are motivated not to fall victim to the common mistakes made throughout collegiate planning decisions What we have found is that throughout this first significant life transition students typically rely on advice from their parents teachers friends and even things they see in the media to decide on what they should study where they should attend and what they are doing with their futures We call this dilemma the External Self Validation Trap because students are using EXTERNAL input to validate decisions that should be very personal and self assuring The consequences almost always result in extra time and money spent in school as well as self doubt and disappointment To solve this problem we created the Internal Self Validation Method the basis for our entire College Confidence Program Our method guides students to make these significant decisions based upon what really excites them about their own futures what they genuinely believe in and who they want to help in their future careers We are very excited for the opportunity to work with the Buffalo Promise Neighborhood Scholars These students consistently demonstrate their own personal desires and motivation to become the best versions of themselves pre qualifying them as great candidates for our dedicated program Throughout the time within the program scholars will be going through the College Confidence Gold Pillar The CC Finance Connoisseur and will have two complementary Continued Coaching sessions to use throughout their first year in college Cohorts I II and III only Throughout the program selected by BPN scholars and their families will Discover their true Conative Affective and Cognitive talents Create diligent strategies and plans of action for the applications we will submit to the schools that are the right fits for them Learn to leverage themselves as candidates both on paper and in person throughout the admissions process Decide where they will take their first collegiate steps based on which schools have the best programs teaching styles and professors to suit their individual conative talents Complete all necessary Financial Aid applications and search for additional scholarships and grants Become prepared and confident to make the transition from high school into college with Internally Self Validated Decisions All of the Scholars in the class of 2018 2019 2020 and 20221 have now begun or completed the process They have shown great enthusiasm and have taken genuine interests in their collegiate success We look forward to helping them navigate the first steps of the rest of their lives DISCOVERY STRATEGIES

Behind the Scenes In addition to The College Confidence Program scholars are receiving mentorship and opportunities not granted by most any high schools in the Buffalo area The College Confidence Coach knows what it takes to build successful college applications and part of that is making a great resume To prepare BPN Scholars and Private families to include stand out volunteering opportunities on their college activities list CCC has strategically aligned with international and local organizations to allow students to become leaders through volunteering Some of those organizations include Habitat for Humanity Ronald McDonald House Compeer Buffalo The Ride for Roswell The College Confidence Program was created with the intent of providing a lasting mentorship not just a sprint to college applications CCC is there for scholars and their parents to ensure that meetings and opportunities are convenient for them Every Wednesday Evan and usually an additional member from the team are at Westminster hosting meetings for the entire afternoon which students are regularly and consistently scheduled for College Confidence Coach is advocating for students to begin standardized test prep much earlier than the average high school student We are finding both free and discounted programs that students and their families can comfortably navigate and afford As a result scholars in both Cohort III and IV are now in a much better position to attain scores higher than those received on their initial PSAT and PACT attempts

Summary of Results and Additional Success We are learning and growing with our success and results each year What is not shown in the data on the previous pages are the GPA s and exciting changes from the first completed collegiate years of Cohort I Scholars are carrying a cumulative 3 195 GPA after their first years On average only 55 3 of all African American college students maintain a GPA of 3 0 or higher in college Most recently we received the inspiring news that with our help on her transfer application Chelsea Thornton was just accepted into Cornell University our first BPN Ivy League acceptance We could not be more proud of her hard work and the incredible opportunity she now has in front of her
The Future of Our Valued Partnership The College Confidence Coach could not be more proud and excited of the results we are helping the first four cohorts of Buffalo Promise Neighborhood Scholars achieve What we have learned through working with this special group of students is that there is an entire demographic of students who need this type of support and guidance as much if not more so than our average private family demographic We look forward to continuing to offer our program mentorship and results to all future cohorts of BPN scholars and their families and hope to grow and add valuable pieces for them to our process for years to come Together we are confident that we are already and will continue to help these students navigate the first steps of the rest of their lives
