Dear Mosh Community,We are thrilled to share this Annual Report with you. This past year has been filled with joy, heartbreak, and healing. Machane (camp) was a welcome respite for our tzevet (staff) andcampers. When they arrived, they were introduced to the theme of Jewish Joy. The summer wasfilled with a feeling of pride in being Jewish and lots of fun and silliness. Over 150 campers fromacross the United States to Israel were able to come to Mosh and rejoice in being Jewish. We want to share these stories with you because we know that donating to Mosh is more than atransaction; it is an investment in our Jewish future. When Mosh continues to thrive, we can feelconfident that we are growing the next generation of thoughtful leaders who will create positivechange in the world. Your gifts are crucial to helping us achieve this dream, by providing aninclusive, welcoming space for our chanichimot (campers), tzevet (staff) and other members of thecommunity. With your contributions, we can achieve this dream. With our capital fund, we will upgrade ourexisting spaces, build new ones, and provide a solid foundation for the future of Mosh. Scholarshipdollars are vital to ensuring that money is not a barrier to attending camp. Finally, a donation toour general fund supports all that we do. That fund supports year-round programing, specialevents at camp, and our vibrant summer program.2024 has been an incredible year of growth, connection, and impact. As we approach our 90thanniversary, we are grateful for the donors, staff, community members, and campers who makeMosh so special. We look forward to welcoming you at Mosh’s 90 Anniversary celebration inOctober and connecting with you throughout the year. Thank you for your continued support!thWith gratitude,Abby Cohen and Talia RodwinCo- Executive DirectorsIn 2024, the camper andtzevet (staff) t-shirts receiveda new design. Our MissionEmpowering Jewish campers to build a just world through a fun, meaningful summer experience. Our VisionAt Mosh, we create a radically inclusive community that fosters transformational self-discovery. We empower Mosh alumni togo on to create a more just world, based on the foundational values they learned at camp.Who Are We?We are a progressive summer camp and year-round community creating vibrant Jewish life for children in grades 3-12. Our uniqueparticipatory, youth-led model creates a lively, profound, and empowering experience, where campers can be themselves, buildcommunity, and bring the change they want to see in the world.Leadership and GovernanceFrom left to right: Nathan Maya (Rosh), Eli Roggen(Chinuch -Education Director), Ali Becker (Techni -Technical Director), Niti Abraham (Techni), Tamar Levi(Shlicha - Israeli Emissary), and Adam Chazan (Chinuch)Mazkirut 2024 (Leadership)4Abby CohenTalia RodwinCo-Executive DirectorsAvi EdelmanBoard PresidentKarin HammouDirector ofEngagement
Highlights of the YearIn 2024 we also successfully completed the first year with our new co-executive director structure. In February, we welcomed Karin Hammou as ourfirst full-time Director of Engagement. Karin jumped into recruitment, overseeing year-round programming and joining Talia at camp over thesummer. View the goals of our strategic plan5“Your camp is very accepting of everyone. This then translates to campers being able to bringtheir whole selves to camp and that in turn creates a very positive experience.” - Mosh parent In 2024, Mosh saw the addition of the first new building on its property since the Marp (health center) was built in 2015.Thanks to the generosity of the Glaser family and many members of our community who gave generously, we saw theconstruction of the MoRa Pavilion. We celebrated the completion of the project with a dedication at Mosh on October 28, 2024. The Moadon Rachel, or MoRa as it is called, was built to honor the legacy of Rachel Glaser z”l, director and business managerfor nearly three decades. She believed in the transformative power of learning and oversaw the informal education ofcountless numbers of campers during her summers at Mosh. This summer, chanichimot (campers) and tzevet (staff) will be able to enjoy using the pavilion as a place to run peulot, andenjoy having a space that will provide shade and a respite from rising temperatures. The Board of Directors approved a three- year strategic plan for Mosh thatis focused on creating a strong plan for our future.
