Medical DialogueKEEPING PHYSICIANS ABREAST OF THE LATEST NEWS AND INFORMATION AT DIGNITY HEALTH – CALIFORNIA HOSPITAL MEDICAL CENTERSUMMER 2023Trauma Training Event at California HospitalThis past June, the Trauma Department held our annual Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses Course ATCN, and International Advanced Trauma Life Support Course ATLS, which is a mandatory certication required for physicians to work in Trauma Care.California Hospital is one of only two hospitals in Los Angeles County that oer the intense ATLS course, which includes two, -hour days of lectures and hands-on clinical skills in trauma training. Physicians from all over the world have attended our ATLS course, including two physicians from Australia at our most recent course. This year’s course also featured a special guest lecturer, Dr. Adam Lee Goldstein, Director of Trauma Surgery, Co-Director of Operating Together, Wolfson Medical Center Holon, Israel, in addition to Dr. Gudata Hinika, Trauma Medical Director and ATLS Course Director, and Trauma Surgeons at California Hospital who are ATLS Instructors. A special thank you to Dr. Hinika and Laura Schneider, Nursing Director of Trauma and ATLS Course Coordinator, who brought this prestigious course here to California Hospital in . The following is a list of tips from CommonSpirit Health that can help you reinvent your self-care routine by focusing on at least one item a day.Take Breaks Caring for yourself enables you to care for others. Meet your physical needs and bolster your resilience. When you need a vacation, take one.Care for Your Spirit Recall what has sustained you in the past. Strengthen your connection with loved ones, with your community, and your faith. Feed your soul with gratitude.Care for Your Body Maintain a healthy diet and get adequate sleep.
