Message Case StudyCalbee 2-Day Energy & Net Zero SurveyWe used our 2-day survey approach to targetopportunities for Calbee in our ‘Cogs’ categoriesof 1) Energy and Resource Efficiency 2) FuelSwitching with a goal of supporting Calbee inachieving 100% switch away from Natural Gasand 3) Clean Growth Hub (to be exploredfurther throughout Bradford ManufacturingFutures LIDP).The audit highlighted several ways in whichexpensive energy could be saved orrecovered. These included recoveringvaluable waste heat from the thermal oilstack, fryer exhausts and valorising it to offsetgas demand. Calbee also have opportunity toproduce their own clean energy through theinstallation of an Anaerobic Digestion plant totreat waste water currently treated off-site -some of the biogas produced could displacenatural gas usage; and solar energy - bothground and roof mounted. The electricityproduced could displace some grid reliance.
