Things You Should Know1324Retractable Clotheslines Extended Length This is the distance your clothesline will extend out for the main body.
They range from 100mm to a massive 10m. The Hills brand has a minimum extension lengthof 2m, which should be considered when selecting a Hills product.Retractable - Number of Lines Required The clotheslines range from 4 to 7 lines depending on the manufacture. If the extended length of the clothesline limits you, additional space canbe gained by increasing the number of lines, for example, going from 4 lines to 7Determining the Clothes Hoist Budget As Clothes Hoists are one of the most used appliances in the home and can last up to 15 years or more, it’s advisable to consider thiswhen working out your budget and before making a buying decision. We always recommend buying the best quality product your budget allows and the largestone that will suit your home. Because it’s better not to use all the lines than one daywishing you had more lines.Product Warranty All products come with a manufacturer’s warranty, the length of time varies based on the brand, and all comply with Australian consumer laws. A productwarranty will cover plastic components and cord for up to 12 months only, with the balanceof the product being covered for longer.Australia’s #1TheClotheslineStore.com.au1300 509 564

Recommended ClearancesFolding frame clotheslines are measured by their width which is the dimension left to right and the depth which is from the wall to you. We recommend allowing 50mm to 100mm clearance at each side of the clothesline, for both wall or ground installations. The recommended installation height is 50mm to 100mm above the person's head who uses it most. In narrow areas where depth islimited, we recommend at least 300mm to 400mm between the face of the clothesline and the fence for example. The products installation manual will have more details on this.Australia’s #1TheClotheslineStore.com.au1300 509 564

Double Folding FramesThe double or often called twin fold lines are two clotheslines in one. The inner and outer line fold independently of each other. Making them ideal for tight spaces because you can put the larger line down when not in use and still have room to walk past the clothesline. If you don’t have a tight space, we recommend a Standard styled clothesline line over a double folding line because they cost less, have less parts and you won't have a bar in the middle of your clothesline when you are hanging up clothes.Read More* Details may change, check website for product specificationBrand Name ColoursWidth (mm)Depth (mm) No LinesHanging Area (m)Suits PeopleHillsEveryday Double1 2200 1200 11 23 2 - 4HillsDouble Folding2 2400 1200 11 26 2 - 4Air DryTwin Fold 240011 2400 1500 16 36 2 - 4Air DryTwin Fold 300011 3000 1500 16 45 2 - 4Australia’s #1TheClotheslineStore.com.au1300 509 564

Frequently Ask QuestionsQ: Are the clotheslines easy to install?A: This depends on the skill set of the installer, all products come with instructions. There is a level of skill required, we recommend consulting an expert or handyman if you are not sure.Q: If I have narrow space, can the width of the clothesline be adjusted?A: Yes, several of the brands can have their width reduced. The Air Dry product can have this done during the manufacturing process as they are a made to order product. For ground mounted installations new holes will be required to be drilled in the rear spreader bar. Q: How high should a clothesline be installed and how much space should you have around ?A: The recommended installation height is 50mm to 100mm above the head of the person using it the most. The recommended space is at least 50mm to 100mm each side and 1000mm in front which will allow you to comfortably stand in front of it.Q: Does The Clothesline Store deliver directly from its warehouse or its suppliers?A: We deliver directly from our warehouse to your door. The only exception is for our Made to Order Air Dry Clotheslines, which are shipped straight from our factory. We pride ourselves on no delays, no hassles, and no excuses!Q: What surfaces are not suitable for installation, and can I mount it to a fence?A: We don't recommend installation on Hebbal walls, weatherboard walls and cladded walls directly and don't recommend installing on a fence either. We recommend using a ground mount kit.Q: Will a Queen or King size sheet fit on the clothesline?A: The 2.4m clotheslines will take a queen sheet and the 3m wide clotheslines will take a king sheet. It’s important to know that the Australian standard size of a queen sheet is 2.3m wide. Some brand name sheets can be a lot wider than this and may be scrunched up on a 2.4m wide clothesline.Q: Can I install a folding frame ground mount onto a concrete slab or path?A: Yes, there are two methods, one is core drilling the concrete and the other is using base plates which is a more economical option.Q: Do I need to buy anything else other than the clothesline so I can install it?A: This depends on the brand as some brands supply fasteners and others do not. On The Clothesline Store each product has listed what standard inclusions are in the product If you have any other enquiries, our team will be happy to help, you can call us on 1300 509 564 or email sales@theclotheslinestore.com.auAustralia’s #1

Professional Installation ServicesClotheslines can be installed in several ways; depending on the type of line you order, and the location will be what determines the installation type required.Folding Frame clotheslines can be installed onto brick / masonry walls or installed on ground mount kits. Most clothesline brands have the accessories available for multiple installation options. At The Clothesline Store we have a professional installation team who can install your new clothesline or remove and dispose of you existing line before installing your new one. Wall & Fence Mounted InstallationThe most common installation type is a brick or concrete walls. These provide a quality anchor point for the clotheslines. However if your bricks or masonry wall is in poor condition a ground mount option may be a better solution. If you have a Hebbal, Cladding or Weatherboard wall we do not recommend this type of installation.A local handyman or builder may be able to assist you in fixing a clothesline to these types of surfaces, however we do not indorse this type of installation. Weather BoardIf you have a fence, we do not recommend installingyour clothesline onto it. In these situations, we suggest using a ground mount kit as shown below, even if you have an existing clothesline on a fence. This is because the integrity of the fence may not be suitable to support the clothesline for the same number of years the clothesline will function.HebbalWall CladdingRecommended SurfacesFence MountingSurfaces Not RecommendedMetal Fenced Timber Fence Ground MountAustralia’s #1TheClotheslineStore.com.au1300 509 564

Ground Mounted InstallationThe ground mount kits connect to the clotheslines and allow them to be free standing instead of a wall mounted installation. The most common installation for the legs is to be concreted into soil or a grassed area. You can also install the clothesline on a concrete slab or path, for this there are two options available. One is to core drill the concrete and the other, a less expensive option is to plate mount the legs to the concrete. The only brands which provide base plate mounting options are Air Dry, Austral and Daytek.Core hole drilling is when the installer drills holes through your concrete and installs the legs into them. This is a more expensive option than the plated system. This is the only option available when installing a Hills product onto a concrete slab or path.
