OUR PRIORITIES This week’s השרפ introduces us to טול, the nephew of וניבא םהרבא. טול left ןרח and accompanied וניבא םהרבא to לארשי ץרא. This was an act of great שפנ תריסמ on his part. םהרבא wasn’t well-known, and at that point, stood for an ideal that the entire world opposed. Yet despite this, טול abandoned all that was familiar to wander with םהרבא to an unknown location. 5:36 PM October 27, 2017 עשת ןושח ׳ז‘‘ח ךל ךל תשרפ  October 29—Rabbeim meeting, 11:30 AM dismissal  November 3, Torah Umesorah Chinuch Shabbos– Hamilton building 11:30 am dismissal all classes, Williston 12:00 noon dismissal all classes  November 4, Torah Umesorah Chinuch Shabbos Melave Malka  November 5, No school grades 2-8 boys Chinuch Shabbos workshops continue  November 9—school picture day  November 12—5B ארמג תלחתהbrunch motives. ךוניח often requires that we make different decisions that will impact our children’s future. We must ask ourselves: Are we allowing שוכר to interfere with our children’s true needs? Are we being motivated to respond in a certain way because of wealth, prestige or any other non-altruistic motive: or are we truly being ךנחמ our children for their own benefit? Chinuch is our top priority. To fortify ourselves, we are hosting a Shabbos Chinuch next week end. We, together with all the תודסומ in Boston, are waiting with great anticipation for the visit of ר הבישיה שאר ןרמ ‘ יקצנימק לאומשטילש“א this coming week in conjunction with the New England Regional Torah Umesorah Shabbos Chinuch. We invite you to participate in all the related community events. There will be a shiur for women on Shabbos afternoon and a הכלמ הולמ on תבש יאצומ. Thank you to all the generous sponsors who are helping defray the cost of the תבש. Anyone interested in becoming a sponsor please email me at rabbiochs@torahacademy.us Rabbi Shmuel Ochs Menahel, Torah Academy However, later in the השרפ we find that םהרבא and טול part ways. A squabble between טול and םהרבא’s shepherds leads to this separation, and טול moves to the opposite extreme, leaving םהרבא and relocating to םודס. What triggered this metamorphosis? Rav Shwab ל״צז points out a קויד in the psukim. The first time the הרות references טול at the beginning of the השרפ, the קוספ states: טול תאו ותשא ירש תא םרבא חקיו ״םשוכר לכ תאו ויחא ןב. Further on in the השרפ, the phraseology changes: תא וחקיו״ ״םרבא יחא ןב ושכר תאו טול. Unlike the first קוספ, the word ושכר, wealth, is between טול’s name and the description that he is םהרבא’s nephew. This, explains Rav Shwab, prompted טול’s downward spiral. In an obfuscation of priorities, he allowed ושכר, his wealth, to take precedence over being the nephew of וניבא םהרבא. This led to his downfall. When dealing with the ךוניח of our children, we must constantly evaluate our  This year’s ארקמ םינש program has now begun.
