October 11, 2024 ה״פשת ירשת 'ט רופיכ םוי ברע EVERY BIT IS PRECIOUS! 5:50 PMDear Parents,We learn in Parshas Nitzavim that ךיקלא ׳ה דע תבשו, if we do Teshuva, תא ךיקלא ׳ה בשו המש ךיקולא ׳ה ךציפה רשא םימעה לכמ ךצבקו בשו ךמחרו ךתובש. Hashem will return your captives and have mercy, and He will gather you from all the nations that you were dispersed there. The Targum Yonasn says that the words ךתובש mean: אוערב הירמימ לבקיו תי ןוכתבוית. Hashem will gather your Teshuva. The Shem M’Shmuel wonders about how we can understand the idea that Hashem gathers our Teshuva. He explains by referencing the Gemara in Rosh HaShanah ז״י ףד which states that ןושאר ןושאר ריבעמ. Hashem removes the first one. The Gemara explains that if a person’s scale was 50/50 with sins and merits, Hashem tips the scale by removing one sin. However, that sin is not erased, but is merely pushed aside. Should a person do mitzvos, then good. Otherwise, the sin is added back into the pile. There is a rule that הבורמ הבוט הדימ. Hashem’s attribute of good is greater than His הדימ הער. If Hashem will add an aveirah that was pushed away, He surely accounts for those mitzvos that were not performed completely correctly. Many times, throughout our lives we will do a partial Teshuva. Hashem will gather those ‘parts’ and use it in our favor. On a national level as well, as Targum Yonason describes, Hashem will gather our bits of Teshuva that may have not been the most superior form of repentance and bring them together. In our generation, we don’t necessarily have to individually achieve Teshuva Sheleima (though that is ideal). Rather, any level of Teshuva that we can reach will be joined together with Teshuva of the rest of Klal Ysrael and hopefully be complete repentance that will lead to us meriting the הלואג. הבוט המיתח רמגRabbi Ochs● Oct 11 - Erev Yom Kippur, No schoolOct 15- Oct 27 - Sukkos break, No schoolOct 28 - School resumesSun, Nov 3 - Rebbeim mtg. 11:30 dismissal- UPDATEDWed, Nov 6 - GS staff mtg, 3PM dismissal all gradesFri, Nov 8 - Short Friday dismissal starts, Hamilton 1:20, Williston 1:30Wed, Nov 13 - 1-8G Par. Our theme for the assemblies is Taking Responsibility (Achrayus) and we discussed the different forms that can take in a school setting. Which students brought in their homework each day? Who threw out his trash after snack? Who picked up someone else's trash? Did someone help recess run more smoothly by including a classmate? Students from all the grades contributed to the discussion and as the First Grade was dismissed, a student jumped to pick up a lone piece of trash on the ground from lunch. Applause erupted and warm wishes for Gut Shabbos!● All the preschool students have been very busy learning about and preparing for the yomim tovim from making chickens for kaporos to flags for Simchas Torah.
