May 30, 2025 ה״פשת ןויס 'ג רבדמב תשרפ Dear Parents,The םישודקה םירפס write that the Parshas HaShavua that is read each Shabbos is somehow connected to the events of the coming week. Since Parshas Bamidbar is always read before Shavuos, there is a connection between Bamidbar and the Yomtov of Shavous.Rav Moshe Feinstein ל״צז explains that the correct preparation for Shavuos is for each person to accept the Torah. Every Yid should work on his own Kabolas HaTorah and השענ עמשנו. Understandably, the Yetzer Hara tries to thwart our excitement and our genuine interest in committing to the Torah. He tries to derail our initiative by claiming that our Torah Study is limited in both quantity and quality, it is insignificant, and a waste of our time. He aims to demonstrate that our more intellectually gifted friends can learn more hours, more content and retain more knowledge than we can ever hope to remember. As we get excited to keep the minhag of staying up Shavuos night, the Yetzer Hara tries to convince us that we won’t accomplish anything. To counter this flawed but prevalent argument, the Yomtov of Shavuos is preceded by Parshas Bamidbar. In the Parsha. Hashem commands Moshe to conduct a census. However, instead of instructing Moshe to simply count the people, the Torah instructs: ינב שאר תא ואש לארשי – Lift up the people – as opposed to the more common term used for counting: דוקפל. The message the Torah is conveying is that in Hashem’s eyes every Yid is valuable and precious. Certainly, those that lived in the העד רוד, in the shadow of Moshe and Aharon, could have been susceptible to the same feeling of inadequacy in comparison to these great people. By directing Moshe to lift up the people, Hashem was confirming that every person is judged by his own benchmark, based on what he’s personally capable of doing and overcoming. This then is the antidote to combat the fallacy of the Yetzer Hara. When we are mechanech our children, this is such an important concept. One can’t compare one child with another. Our expectations can’t be the same. Just like Hashem views each of us as individuals we too must do the same. It is also a prerequisite for a successful re-acceptance of the Torah on Shavuos.תבש טוג Rabbi Ochs 7:55 PM● Sun, June 1 - regular scheduleJune 2-3 - No school, ShavuosWed, June 4 - Late start at 10:15 AMSun, June 8 - Rebbeim mtg, dism. 11:30June 15- Girls graduationJune 16 - Boys graduationJune 19 - Last day of school, 12:00 Hamilton dismissal, 12:15 - Williston dismissalEVERYONE IS VALUABLE Message

BULLETIN BOARD● On Monday we heard the beautiful sounds of schoolwide learning in the Williston building in honor of the shloshim of Reb Shmuel Chaim z’l ben HaRav Tsvi Yehuda HaLevi Shlita. See pictures further in the Bulletin.● 3B has been learning about weather, and in particular the creation of lightning. Lighting actually goes both directions, up and down. We demonstrated our understanding with a Van de Graaff generator. A felt (or rubber) belt is spun around a plastic roller, stealing electrons from the roller. The roller is connected to a metal sphere, and steals electrons from there, leaving the sphere positively charged. When a source of electrons, such as a finger, gets close enough to the sphere our electric field is strong enough to make them jump from the finger to the sphere. Meaning that the lighting is actually coming FROM OUR FINGERS!● On Tuesday, thirty middle school boys went to Waterbury to join with 40 Waterbury boys and 5 Providence boys to celebrate the Masmid Gavoha siyum. The boys had to earn a certain number of points from extra learning, outside of school during the winter months, in order to qualify for the trip. The program began with a basketball competition, 8th grade Waterbury vs. 8th grade Boston. Then there was a beautiful siyum, with the 12th grade Rebbi from Naugatuck as the guest speaker. Moshe Bark also shared divrei Torah as the 8th grade representative from Boston. There were raffles and prizes, and a great time was had by all. Thank you so much to Rabbi Ochs, Rabbi Kohn, Rabbi Benmergui, and Rabbi Nulman who graciously gave of their time to drive and chaperone the boys. ● Boruch Hashem the 3rd grade Talmidim completed our 6th parsha in Chumash this year. Rebbi is so proud of all the boys who worked consistently to complete parsha. Keep Shtaiging!!● On Thursday, Mrs. Johnson took 5B ice skating!
