Message June 13, 2025 ה״פשת ןויס ז''י ךתולעהב תשרפ Dear Parents,In this week’s Parsha we are introduced to halachos of ינש חספ. The psukim read: ערגנ המל םדא שפנל םיאמט ונחנא לארשי ינב ךותב ודעומב חספה ןברק תא בירקה יתלבלWe are ritually unclean, why should we lose out and not bring the Korban Pesach? Hashem responded to these men’s complaints by granting them the opportunity to bring the Korban Pesach on Pesach Sheini. At first glance, this week’s parsha seems to discuss several seemingly unrelated topics: ינש חספ ,הרונמה תקלדה, the םיננואתמ, the incident with the ףוספסא and others. However, the meforshim point out that on further examination, there is an underlying theme that connects these inyanim. At the time of the חספה תברקה there was a group of men who were unable to participate because there were אמט. Instead of passively accepting their fate, they challenged Moshe and asked ערגנ המל – why should we be deprived on this special mitzvah? The Sifri comments that these individuals were תווצמה לע םידרח – they trembled with a deep desire to do mitzvos. Although they were halachically exempt from performing the mitzvah of Korban Pesach, they still sought a way to somehow perform the mitzvah. They didn’t view mitzvos as a burden or obligation – rather, being barred from performing a mitzvah was viewed as a form of deprivation to be avoided at all costs. In the same vein, the parsha opens with a description of the lighting of the Menorah. Rashi explains the juxtaposition of this with last week’s parsha’s closing ןינע of םיאישנה תונברק. Aharon HaKohen was saddened that he was not a participant in the םיאישנה תונברק. Hashem reassured him that he, Aharon, would light the Menorah, which was a greater merit – םהלשמ הלודג ךלש. Aharon wasn’t a nasi, and his status as לודג ןהכ meant that he served a unique function unmatched by any member of Klal Yisrael. Why was he upset that he couldn’t bring the karbonos of a nasi? The answer mirrors that of the תווצמה לע םידרח. Aharon felt that by not having the opportunity to offer the korban of a nasi he was being deprived of a mitzvah that would bring him closer to Hashem.Unfortunately, though, we find the opposite in this week’s parsha as well. There were a group of people in the Parsha who felt deprived because they missed the fish, cucumbers and watermelon they enjoyed in Mitzrayim. They were disturbed that the only food they ate in the Midbar was ןמ. There was another group who felt they were deprived on meat and complained רשב ינליכאי ימ.The message of the Parsha is that we need to examine what makes us upset and what makes us happy. This will give us a deep insight into what are our priorities in life. Do we follow in the footsteps of ןהכה ןרהא and the םיאמט םדא שפנל and view ourselves as unfairly deprived when we don’t have the opportunity to fulfil a mitzvah, or do we complain and speak of unfairness when the mundane doesn’t pan out the way we wish.Wishing you a wonderful and restful summer. I am looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday, September 3rd!תבש טוג Rabbi Ochs 8:04 PM● June 15- Girls graduationJune 16 - Boys graduationJune 19 - Last day of school: Hamilton dismissal, 12:00 Williston dismissal, 12:15Wed, September 3 - First Day of the 2025-2026 school yearWHAT ARE OUR PRIORITIES?

BULLETIN BOARD● Williston and Hamilton had very successful Vocabulary Parades! Dressed to elucidate, first through 5B/6G grades celebrate vocabulary gains through a parade of meanings and context clues last Friday. Each student acted out or dressed up as a word. Some of the fabulous vocabulary words that were represented were: torrential, indifferent, engage, destination, and detect. 1B’s contribution was to act out, as a class, three of the vocabulary words that have been discussed school-wide: murmur, tranquil, and dignified. Thank you to the teachers for spending the past month emphasizing vocabulary instruction, a primary strand of reading comprehension. But the biggest thank you goes to the students who took it seriously and made it a lot of fun. ● On Monday, we had a special guest at the Williston building, Rabbi Geller! He shared inspiring stories, played violin, and danced with the boys!● 4B went on a fantastic trip to Blue Hills on Monday. They went on a hike and had a BBQ in honor of all the chazara and learning that they did. Thank you so much Rabbi Selevan!● The 1-2B Chemdas trip was on Tuesday. Rabbi Sebbag and Rabbi Bork took the boys to Jump On In for an amazingly hopping time! When the boys returned, they were treated to pizza, fries, ices, and seltzer! Thank you so much to the Lazarevs and Zytos for driving!● The 3-8B Chemdas trip was on Wednesday. The boys had a jam-packed, fun-filled day! The boys left school at 9 am to travel to their 1st stop- New England Air Museum. They then went to their 2nd stop- laser tag and bowling, followed by their 3rd stop- Pizza in Waterbury CT. Thank you so much Rabbi Sebbag and Rabbi Nulman!● The 8B graduation trip took place on Thursday! The boys began the day with the regular school shacharis and then headed to Ramblewild Aerial Adventure Park; a ropes course in The Berkshire Mountains. From there they went to Supercharged in Wrentham MA for Go-Karting and more.Yummy meals were provided, and everyone had an awesome time! Thank you so much Rabbi Kohn!● 4B Egg Drop: Can you drop an egg? Of course. Can you drop an egg off the roof of TA? Sure. Can you keep the egg from breaking? 4B is finding out, first with all the supplies they want, and then with only three handfuls of total supplies.● On Friday Parshas Nasso the middle school boys had an exciting raffle for the Sefira Shabbos Learning Program. Every hour learned over Shabbos = ticket as well as every half hour bretzifus. It was amazing to see how much the boys learned in their own time. Mazal tov to the winners: Moshe Rosmarin, Shmully Lieberman, Avrumi Halpern, and Aron Uminer! ● Finally!! the long awaited Pesach Learning Program seforim came! A total of 46!!! boys received a beautiful Darash Moshe for learning daily over Pesach break. The seforim were once again graciously sponsored by the Israel Book Shop תמשנ יוליעל Mr. Dovek ל"ז םהרבא ר"ב והילא 'ר. Mazal tov to the raffle winners: Dov Bercuson, Moishele Horowitz, Yehuda Shlomo Shanske, and Pesach Fraeger. It was a tremendous kiddush Hashem to see how much the boys learned over Pesach break.● 4B Rube Goldberg Machines: Moving from the simple to the complex is what 4B does best. Currently, it’s with simple machines to complex machines to purposely overly complex machines.● 4B Flag Football: All work and no play isn’t our way, 4B takes to the field for some well earned football time.● On Thursday the 8th grade boys went on their long awaited graduation trip accompanied by Rabbi Ochs and Rabbi Kohn. The girls enjoyed a day in New Hampshire- hiking and taking in the beauty of the White Mountains. The girls enjoyed the beauty of The Flume, crawled through caves at The Lost River, and went go karting and bumper boating at Mel’s Funway. What beautiful achdus they had the entire throughout! Thank you so much Mrs. Ochs and Mrs. Blumberg!● Nurse Miri presenter a summer safety workshop to 2G. Thank you Nurse Miri for the cool shades!● Under Mrs. Fine’s guidance, 8G presented a debate to parents. Topics where both sides were debated were the advantages to having no uniforms in school, more gym periods per week and the allowance to eat during class. Both sides of each discussion made strong arguments! ● 5G enjoyed a trip to Franklin Zoo on Tuesday. They had learned about animal adaptations during the year and enjoyed seeing the animals live! Thank you Ms. Zazula for planning the trip and Bracha Benmergui for chaperoning. ● As a culminating activity to 4G‘s science unit, they went to the Museum of Science on Thursday. Thank you Mrs. Sandperl! Thank you to the drivers and chaperones: Mrs. Muzin, Mrs. Solomon, and Mrs. Rosmarin.● While studying about the Middle Ages, 4G learned that a coat of arms was more like a label for instant identification than it was like a painting. In battle, you wanted to know instantly who was coming toward you, so you could know which side he was on. They also became a way of showing membership in the aristocracy after they lost their significance in warfare. 4G designed their own "Family Crests."● When the moon was at first quarter, 6G went on a trip to see its craters through a telescope an a Science observatory. They were able to see the planets’ distance from each other to scale, touch a meteorite, and see a planetarium show. What a fabulous way to end their learning of astronomy this year! Thank you Mrs. Blumberg! Thank you Miss Lowenstein and Miss Marshall for driving and chaperoning!● Mazel Tov to the sixth graders on their grade Bas Mitzvah! The event was truly beautiful. The girls proudly presented their Ani Maamins, enjoyed delicious refreshments, and were uplifted by the inspiring divrei Torah shared by Rabbi Ochs and Mrs. Reifman. May they continue to grow in Torah and mitzvos, becoming true Bnos Yisroel who bring nachas to their families and community. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Krasnow and Mrs. Reifman for all their dedication and hard work in preparing the girls for this special milestone.● Mazal Tov to both kindergarten classes on receiving their siddurim! The students did a spectacular job at their siddur performances on June 10th — each class shining at their respective events. A big thank you to the moros for their dedication and hard work in preparing the children for this special milestone. The children are now davening so beautifully each day with their new siddurim — such nachas!● The Pre-K children are so excited for their upcoming end-of-year performances on June 17th! A heartfelt thank you to all the moros for their hard work and dedication in preparing the students for this special event.●
