+ Dear Friends:This edion of Bread to Roses is brimming with upliing news and moments of celebraon. At the forefront is the elecon of Pope Leo XIV, a leader whose vision oers hope and inspiraon in a me when both are deeply needed. His guidance promises to bring renewal, shaping a future lled with opmism and faith. We look forward to the ways he will bring people together. We were graced with a truly beauful Holy Week and a radiant Easter celebraon. Spring is a season of renewal, and it is during this me that our young children and teenagers receive First Communion and Conrmaon, marking important milestones in their faith journey. It is also a me when babies are lovingly bapzed, and adults are welcomed with joy into the Catholic Church, embracing a spiritual home that lls their hearts with grace and peace. Our centerfold shines a spotlight on Saint Elizabeth’s Rose Fund (or SERF as we like to call it), a vital iniave dedicated to fostering generosity within our parish. This fund plays a crucial role in helping those in need, enriching our programs, and en-suring that our mission of faith and service connues to ourish. We invite you to learn more about this beauful iniave and consider how you might take part in its mission. Together, we will connue to build a strong, caring community, rooted in kindness and service to one another.Spring has been lled with meaningful and memorable events at Saint E’s. On April 22, Father Joseph guided a special mini pilgrimage to the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, followed by a delighul lunch at Nanina’s in the Park. Then, on June 3, Father Robert, a proud graduate of the Culinary Instute of America, led a won-derful trip to the renowned CIA. These two fantasc opportunies to strengthen our community are just the start of many other similar future events. We appreciate your feedback on our evening talks. Maggie DiPasquale’s discussion on The Anxious Generaon on May 12 oered valuable insights, while Dr. Julie Burkey’s presentaon on The Later Years of Mary on May 20 provided a beauful reecon. Thank you for engaging with us in these enriching conversaons. My hearelt gratude goes to our devoted clergy, choir, cantors, Eucharisc minis-ters, lectors, altar servers, ushers, altar decorators, sacristans, and Religious Ed sta for their unwavering commitment to serving our faith community. I am also deeply appreciave of each one of you. Your steadfast support makes Saint E’s the won-derful spiritual home that it has been since 1902.In Christ’s Peace, A Note from Father Stephenr is a season of joy, renewal, and new beginnings in our Church. Long-me parishioners, Geri and Kevin Gaynor, are the rst donors to Saint E’s Rose Fund. “We have made provision in our will with bequests to three organizaons dear to our hearts including Saint E’s. We truly believe in giving back to organizaons that have supported us and actually provide a pathway for us to lead our lives.” Certainly, you would agree that being a part of our warm and wonderful community of Saint E’s is a tremendous blessing. We have experienced so many of our family memories— sacramental celebraons, Easter and Christmas Masses, weddings and anniversaries, burials of our loved ones, Appreciaon Nights, and Talent Shows. Together, we have shared a lifeme of ministry, memories and prayer, so much so that our individual legacies and Saint E’s legacy are forever intertwined. As it is for our generaon, would it not be wonderful if Saint E’s connues to be an essenal part of our generaons to come? It is for this reason that our parish has launched The Saint E’s Rose Fund. With some careful planning, we can make certain that our many ministries, parish campus and all it houses, will connue to thrive for the next 100 years. There are many ways to support this Fund. For example, you can remember Saint E’s in your estate plan as a beneciary in your will. It is simple to do if you already have a will and only involves adding a codicil with the suggested language accompanying this arcle. This very meaningful charitable gi which Father Stephen describes as the “Last Act of Generosity” will have absolutely no impact on your nances today and it can provide tax advantages for your family upon the selement of your estate. You can also designate Saint E’s in a living trust, Donor Advised Fund (DAF), rerement accounts, a Qualied Charitable Distribuon from your IRA of up to $105,000 annually, or a life insurance policy.“By naming Saint E’s Rose Fund in your will or estate plans,” says Father Stephen, “you can help ensure our mission and vision for generaons to come. Moreover, your generosity will empower Saint E’s to connue spreading love, compassion and service in Christ’s name.” More informaon about the Saint E’s Rose Fund will be available in October during an Educaonal Session on planned giving and charitable estate planning. We look forward to seeing you there. Unl then, you can speak directly with Father Stephen or contact Dan McHugh, Saint E’s Business Manager, at Extension 202. You can also nd more informaon about the Rose Fund on Saint E’s Website.“The Last Act of Generosity”
