Melany is in the oral chemotherapy phase, which lasts six months. She has completed four months so far. Last file update I mistakenly reported that Melany was finished with chemo - what was completed was the chemo by catheter.  She still has the oral treatment.

Tesimonial

August 30th:  Blanca Jiron, Melany's mother, told us that during these months at home, Melany has not been sick, has not had a relapse, and has not had the flu. She looks happier and walks better because her leg does not hurt (since the skin graft from the surgery has healed). In addition, the PICC line was removed two months ago, so everything is back to normal, including celebrating her birthday this year.

Three months after the surgery she had evaluation tests and they found nothing wrong. She has been very active. Even though she doesn't go to school, she studies English and works at the church as a crafts teacher in the Sunday school. At home, we do well when she does well. I went back to work (part-time and cleaning houses) last September, but my husband has not yet been able to.

On behalf of Melany and my family, we are very grateful for your help. The medicine is very expensive, the costs are enormous, and here we have everything. May God double whatever you do for us. Your support strengthens us. There is no other place that can help us like the Foundation. From day one, they have provided everything Melany has needed. Thank you, Ayúdame a Vivir and Food for the Poor! Your economic help eases our pain. God bless you!
