Dear Taxpayers,Transparency is about information. It’s about the ability for the public to have full access to the information and not just the information an agency is willing to provide.Government should be transparent. It promotesaccountability and provides information to citizens about what a government agency is doing.Government should be participatory. Public engagement enhances an agency’s effectiveness and improves the quality of decisions my by elected and appointed officials.Government should be collaborative. Collaboration engages people in the work of theirgovernment.Our goal is to provide the public that the information.These appointed boards and commissionsare important. These individuals levy more than $10million in property taxes and oversee additional millions collected through sales tax and/or userfees. FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICTSResponsibilities — Provides a variety of services that protect the lives and property of District residents from theadverse effects of fires, sudden medical emergencies, or exposures to dangerousconditions.
