Important Information for Your Guardians, Peter and Sue Maxwell Please remind him: ••••It’s okay to make mistakes. They’re how you learn and grow.Always treat others with kindness, even when it’s hard.Chase what excites you, whether that’s art, football, or something you haven’tdiscovered yet.And know that it’s okay to ask for help. School and EducationMax is currently attending Riverstone Academy, where he’sthriving in his maths and science classes. He’s got a natural talent for problem-solvingand an inquisitive mind that loves to figure out how things work. English isn’t hisfavourite subject, but he’s working hard, and his teacher, Mrs Bennett, often commentson his unique way of interpreting stories. Please encourage him to keep at it—it willserve him well in the future. Hobbies and Interests Max is incredibly creative and loves drawing superheroes and fantasy worlds in his sketchpad. Art is his escape, and I think it’s where he feels most free. He’s also very athletic and plays as a midfielder for his local football team. He has a competitive streak but is also a team player who uplifts his mates. Make sure he always has time to draw and play—those are things that light him up. Personality and Values Max has a kind and thoughtful heart. He’s the first to help someone in need and has a way of making people laugh even on their toughest days. He’s naturally curious, determined, and a little bit stubborn (especially in the mornings—he’s not a fan of waking up early!). He’s also a loyal friend and fiercely protective of the people he loves. Religious Preferences While we haven’t been overly strict about religious practices, Max was baptised in the Christian faith and is familiar with its traditions and values. It’s important that he has a moral and ethical foundation, but I want him to have the freedom to explore his own beliefs as he grows. Please encourage him to keep an open mind and a kind heart. Age of Inheritance Max will inherit what I’ve left for him when he turns 25. I believe by then he’ll have the maturity to handle his responsibilities and make wise decisions. Until then, I trust you to manage anything he might need and guide him in learning how to handle life’s challenges.
Wishes for my daughter, Jess Dear Jess I hope this letter finds you well and reminds you of how deeply you are loved. Whether you’re reading this during a time of uncertainty, transition, or simply to feel a connection to me, I want to leave behind something that reflects who you are right now, at 15 years old, and the hopes I have for your future. Jess, you are growing into an exceptional young woman, with a quiet strength and a thoughtful way of seeing the world. At 15, you’re navigating so much—figuring out who you are, discovering what matters to you, and finding your place in the world. I want you to know that I see you and believe in you every step of the way. To the person reading this as Jess’s guardian, thank you for being there for her. At this stage in her life, she needs someone who will not only support her dreams and interests but also understand her introspective nature and help her navigate the challenges of growing up. Please know how much it means to me that she has someone like you to guide her, care for her, and remind her of her unique worth.
Important Information for Your Guardians, Peter and Sue Maxwell Thank you for being there for Jess. Your care and patience will mean the world to her as she grows into her unique self. School and Education Jess is currently attending St. Catherine’s College, where she’s making great strides in her science and art classes. She has a knack for asking thoughtful, big-picture questions and loves experimenting in the lab. While she sometimes gets frustrated with structured writing assignments in English, her creativity shines through in her unique ideas and visual storytelling. Her teacher, Ms. Taylor, describes her as a quiet observer who surprises everyone with her insight when she speaks up. Please encourage her to keep exploring and expressing herself in her own way. Hobbies and Interests Jess has a love for photography and often takes her camera along on walks to capture interesting patterns and colours she notices in the world around her. She’s also passionate about animals and spends hours researching different species—her dream is to one day work in conservation or animal care. At home, she enjoys quiet evenings sketching or reading about space and astronomy. Jess finds joy in quiet, reflective hobbies, so make sure she has time to immerse herself in these interests. Personality and Values Jess is deeply introspective and thoughtful. She’s not one to seek the spotlight but instead finds fulfillment in quietly helping others and contributing in meaningful ways. She has a gentle, calming presence and tends to be the one her friends turn to when they need someone to listen. Jess is also incredibly curious and loves learning about the world, whether it’s science, history, or how things work. While she can be a bit of a perfectionist at times, she’s learning to embrace imperfection as part of the process. Religious Preferences Jess was baptised in the Christian faith and has been introduced to its values and traditions. While I haven’t insisted on strict religious practices, I believe it’s important for her to have a moral foundation and a sense of compassion and gratitude. Please encourage her to explore her spirituality in her own time while staying true to these guiding principles. Age of Inheritance Jess will inherit what I’ve left for her when she turns 25. I want her to have the time to develop her independence and decision-making skills. Until then, I trust you to help her grow into the compassionate and capable person I know she is. Please remind her: • It’s okay to take your time—you don’t have to rush to figure everything out. • Compassion and quiet strength can have a bigger impact than you realise. • Keep nurturing your curiosity—it’s what makes you special. • And never hesitate to ask for guidance. Life’s challenges are easier with support
Wishes for my parents, Dave and Mary Dear Mum and Dad, This letter is one of love, gratitude, and care. While I cannot be here to look after you asyou age, I want you to know how much you mean to me and to ensure that your needs—practical, financial, and emotional—are thoughtfully considered and met in the yearsahead. I’ve made arrangements to ensure you are supported in every way possible. Thisletter reflects my wishes for your care, guided by the deep love and respect I have forboth of you. Practical Considerations Your comfort and dignity are my top priorities. I’ve put plans in place to ensure that your living situation, healthcare, and daily needs are met with care and attention. Living Arrangements My hope is for you to stay in your home for as long as it feels right for you. To make this easier, I’ve arranged for Danielle Robertson and her team at DR Care Solutions to oversee your in-home care. They will coordinate professionals to assist with household tasks, meal preparation, and personal care as needed. If the time comes when staying at home becomes too difficult, I’ve reserved a place for you at The Moran Residential Care Home. It’s a highly respected facility with a caring staff and excellent amenities, and I believe it will provide the comfort and dignity you deserve. Medical Support Your healthcare needs will be managed by Dr. Rachel Mitchell, your GP, in collaboration with specialists as required. I’ve ensured that a care coordinator from DR Care Solutions will liaise with Dr. Mitchell and other specialists, including: o Dr. Andrew Lim, cardiologist o Dr. Priya Sharma, geriatrician These professionals will work together to monitor your health and provide comprehensive care. Day-to-Day Assistance: To make daily life easier, I suggest enlisting the services of Helping Hands Australia, a trusted local agency that will assist with grocery shopping, cleaning, and transportation to appointments or social activities. They are known for their reliability and kindness, and I trust they will make things more manageable for you.
Financial Considerations To ensure your financial well-being, I’ve made the following arrangements: Bills and Expenses All your regular bills—utilities, council rates, insurance, and any others—will be managed by David Taylor, the financial administrator we’ve appointed. He will ensure everything is paid on time and accounted for. Long-Term Care Funding I’ve allocated funds specifically for your care, whether for in-home support or residential care at The Moran. These funds will be managed by Sarah White, your appointed trustee, who will ensure they are used responsibly and effectively. Access to Assistance Should unexpected financial concerns arise, Fiona Harris, your financial advisor, is available to assist with planning and decision-making. Her contact details are included with this letter. Emotional Considerations I hope you continue to find joy and fulfillment in the things you love most. Here are some suggestions to help make the years ahead as meaningful as possible: Stay Socially Connected Your friendships and community connections have always been such an important part of your lives. Whether it’s attending Rotary Club meetings, catching up with friends over coffee, or participating in book clubs, I encourage you to stay engaged in these activities—they bring so much joy and meaning. Embrace Hobbies and Passions Gardening, reading, or even exploring new interests are wonderful ways to bring happiness and purpose to your days. If gardening continues to bring you joy, I’d love for you to keep it up—it’s such a beautiful part of who you are. Take Care of Your Well-Being If you ever feel lonely or overwhelmed, consider reaching out to someone you trust or speaking with a counsellor. Talking about your feelings can be a source of strength and comfort. Final Thoughts Mum and Dad, though I can’t be here physically, my love for you is enduring. I’ve worked hard to put plans in place to ensure you are well cared for and supported in all aspects of your lives. Thank you for being the amazing parents you have always been. I hope these arrangements and suggestions provide you with the security and comfort you need to live your lives fully and joyfully. With all my love, William
