Itis a place of peace, purpose, and deep connection. Over the years, he has spent countless hours there, nurturing every corner with care. Whether he was pruning the roses, harvesting tomatoes, or simply sitting quietly with a cup of tea in the afternoon sun, the garden has brought him real happiness.Even now, it is remarkable how much he continues to do on his own. He still insists on pottering around, tending to whatever he can manage, and it is beautiful to see how much joy it brings him. But the reality is that he cannot manage everything anymore. Some tasks now ask more of his body than it can comfortably give.Please make sure he gets the help he needs to keep the garden going. Not just someone to mow the lawn and do the heavy lifting, but someone who understands how important it is to him. Ideally, it should be someone patient, who will listen to his guidance and help him maintain the garden in the way he envisions it.If he can stay involved, even in a small way, I know it will lift his spirits. His hands may not be able to do everything, but his heart is still fully in it. Supporting him to stay connected to that part of his life is one of the kindest and most meaningful gifts you could give.

You’ve been a constant in my life, even when things felt uncertain or when I didn’t have the words to ask for help.You’ve always been the kind of brother who steps up. I think about that time in fifth grade when Rupert tried to rip me off. I was too scared to speak up, but you weren’t. You walked right up to him and sorted it out like it was nothing. To me, it meant everything. That kind of fierce loyalty, that instinct to protect. It’s something I’ve never forgotten. It’s one of many moments that made me feel safe, seen, and loved.I hope I’ve managed to return that care in some way. I hope I’ve been the kind of brother you could rely on too. I know I haven’t always got it right, but I’ve always tried to show up for you like you’ve done for me.Whatever comes next, I carry no regrets when it comes to us. Please ask the Green Valley Catholic Church priest to preside over the religious elements.Obituary notesI had a happy childhood with my Mum, Annie my Dad, Danny and my brother Davey. We lived in Western Sydney, surrounded by bushland that's now suburbia. Our house was full of animals: cats, dogs, chickens in the coop, cockies in the cage, fish in the pond and even a sheep to keep the grass down. Our days were filled with community sport. I was a good cricekter and even made an underage state team, but I could never crack the big time. We also spent time spent swimming and hanging out at the Prospect Reservoir, or just the 'Ressy' to us local kids. I met Judes there as a 15 year old.I was an average student and had no idea where my life was headed when I finished school in 1968. I was drafted before too many bad influences managed to take hold and I was deployed once. Vietnam was a formative experience and I remain close to all my RSL buddies to this day, although we never see enough of each other. I travelled to Vietnam many years later and felt such sadness for what had happened.After I left the army, I married Judes who helped me embrace the rest of my life. She's been my rock and one true love. I have no idea where I'd be without her. We were so lucky to have 2 beautiful kids and watching them grow their own families has been such a joy for Judes and me.Working as a mechanic was more than a professions. I'm so grateful to all the great people I've worked with (and even the less great ones). Spending weekends at the Sydney Dragway meant my profession was also my passion and for that I feel incredibly lucky. I'm not sure Judes always loved it as much as me, but we built an amazing group of friends who became family in this motorsport community.I've lived a fulfilled and happy life. And hopefully there's still another chapter or two to write.23
