As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer, we’re excited to bring you ourfirst Newsletter. We hope you enjoy reading it! NEWSLETTERIn this issue, we celebrate the beginnings of our college-Bellmont College. Here we highlightkey information and we hope this newsletter encourages you to build a sense of belonging andsatisfaction in being part of the Bellmont College/ Liverpool Hope University community.
We reflect upon Bellmont College’s exceptionally exciting and transformative year, filledwith both challenges and accomplishments as we brought a long-held vision to life. Together, we’ve been working hard to turn a big dream into reality. Through our tirelesseffort, we have built a meaningful partnership with Liverpool Hope University aligning ourshared mission of excellence in education, as well as achieved a major milestone, as weofficially welcomed you, our first cohorts of students to the college.Every step of this journey has been a mix of challenges, growth, and rewarding progress,but it has been immensely fulfilling to witness how far we’ve come. Together with our partners, staff, and students, we are building not just a college but arobust, well-rounded, supportive space for learning, ideas, collaboration, and opportunityand we look forward to welcoming 2025 to continue on our mission of giving theopportunity of education within the Haringey Borough of London.04
Bellmont College was established and founded by Dr Dinesh Bist in February 2023, with avision and mission to empower the community of Wood Green, in the London borough ofHaringey and beyond, by offering education to all those who wish to progress with theirstudies but either do not have the facility at their current institutions to progress, have neverhad the opportunity to better their education, or have been in employment and out ofeducation for a long period of time. 06ABOUT USwww.bellmontcollege.co.ukBellmont College is proud to announce that, in partnership with Liverpool Hope University, theBusiness Management with a Foundation Year programme was successfully launched with theSeptember and November 2024 cohorts currently ongoing.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
22ENAGEMENT WITH YOUR STUDIESAt Bellmont College active participation in your studies is necesaryand being a student means fully committing to the following:You are required to attend all your scheduled sessions (e.g.,tutorials, seminars, workshops, and lectures). Remember that yourattendance must not fall below 85%.You must submit all required assignments, both formative andsummative before the deadline.You should actively participate in student-led learning activities.You should always be a respectful and engaged member of yourlearning community.You should show enthusiasm and passion for your subject.You must complete your weekly readings and come prepared foryour sessions. You must make effective use of Moodle and all your otherresources and learning material.
23ATTENDANCE, PUNCTUALITY AND BEHAVIOURAs a student you are expected to attend all teaching sessions unless you have valid mitigatingcircumstances. Your attendance must not fall below 85%. Remember that you are required to arrive on time for all your scheduled sessions, whether online orface-to-face classes.If you miss a session, remember to inform both your Academic Support Tutor and the Registry Team. Ensure you catch up on missed work, and expect follow-up calls from your Academic Support Tutorand the Registry Team. If for any reason you arrive late to your class, you should enter quietly, apologise to the tutor, and don’tdisrupt your class colleagues.As a Higher Education student you must always be professional, punctual, and respectful toward allstaff and peers.Turn off your mobile phone during sessions unless necessary (e.g., emergencies). Notify your tutor ifyou need your phone on in such cases. Emails to tutors should be courteous and reflect professionalism suitable for a graduate career. NB : Your tutor will review these expectations with you early on and use them to assess your engagement.

33WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAYMy name is Ana Bianca Pavel. I am from Romania, and Istarted the Business Management with Foundation year atBellmont College in September 2024. Every step of the wayhas been new but enjoyable for me so far.The educational experience here is quite different from thatof the schools in my home country. My class colleaguesand I have been facing a new world, a new language, andteachers from various nationalities. To me, it feels like discovering a hidden treasure. The first few months have been impressive, and I have learned a lot.We attend interesting and engaging lessons, work on group projects,and share many new experiences. With the winter holidays approaching, as a Student Representative, Ithought it would be wonderful to celebrate this new chapter- our newchapter with classmates, teachers, and staff.Unitedly, as a class, we organised snacks, pizza and a big cake, amongother treats.
