As the world wakes up from winter’s gray slumber, spring arrives like a well-dressed guest—bold, effortless, and full of energy. This season’s color palette is a perfect mix of pastels that whisper romance and brights that demand attention. Whether you’re looking to refresh your wardrobe or just add a subtle pop, these hues will be everywhere in the coming months. Consider this your guide to the colors that will dene spring—and how to wear them.EASY WAYS TO WEAR SPRING’S COLOR TRENDSDip a toe in:Not ready for a full-on monochrome look? Try a trending color in your ac-cessories—handbags, shoes, or even nail polish.Mix & match:The freshest color combinations this season? Sky blue + coral red, butter yellow + lavender haze, and soft olive + peach fuzz.Let the color shine:Pair brights with neutrals to keep things balanced, or go for a full head-to-toe look in a single shade for maximum impact. This season is all about color confidence. So whether you’re going full-on elec-tric green or just adding a touch of butter yellow, the key is to have fun and make it your own. Which color are you most excited to try this spring?SOFT & SWEET: THE PASTELSPEACH FUZZ (Pantone’s Color of the Year 2024)Like the golden hour glow bottled into a color, Peach Fuzz is warm, invit-ing, and universally flattering. It’s the perfect shade for flowy dresses, silky camis, and feminine blazers. Think of it as the color equivalent of a fresh, dewy glow.LAVENDER HAZESoft yet powerful, lavender con-tinues to reign as the pastel of choice. Perfect for monochrome dressing, this dreamy hue pairs beautifully with crisp whites, pale yellows, or even a punch of elec-tric green for contrast.SKY BLUECrisp, airy, and as refreshing as the first warm day of the sea-son, sky blue is the ultimate springtime neutral. Whether in a structured linen blazer or a breezy sundress, this color brings an instant sense of calm and eortless style.Spring’shueseshest
11BOLD & BRIGHT: THE SHOWSTOPPERSCORAL REDVibrant yet wearable, coral red is the color of confidence. Whether you embrace it in a sleek midi dress or just a pop on your lips, this fiery shade makes any outfit feel intentional and exciting.ELECTRIC GREENThis is the color for the bold-est among us. A structured green mini dress, statement earrings, or even a handbag in this shade instantly gives any outfit a high-fashion edge.BUTTER YELLOWNot quite pastel, not quite neon—this sunny shade is the perfect in-be-tween. A butter yellow cardigan over a white sundress? Perfection. Strappy heels in this hue? A dream. It’s a color that plays well with others while still standing on its own.THE UNEXPECTED NEUTRALSOFT OLIVEFor those who love a more grounded color palette, soft olive is this season’s fresh take on neutrals. It pairs beautifully with nearly anything—white, denim, even peach fuzz—making it an easy choice for layering. A silky slip dress in this shade? Chic. A structured blazer? Eortlessly cool.Col TakeawayendSpring color trends should feel like an extension of your personality—whether that means leaning into soft, romantic hues or making a statement with something bold and unexpected.
12A VISION FOR CHANGEAlyson Berry launched Mane + Magnolia to fill a gap she saw in both the client and stylist experience. “One of the biggest struggles clients voiced over the years was having a harsh line of demarcation as their color grew out,” Alyson explains. “Through innovative techniques and outside-the-box thinking, they were able to start going longer between appointments while still feeling confident about their color!” She also wanted to create a space where stylists could thrive by focusing on what they love, rather than feeling pressure to oer every service.THE BEAUTY OF LOW-MAINTENANCE COLORAs busy women themselves, Alyson and her team understand that frequent salon visits aren’t always realistic. “We believe that helping women extend time between visits allows them to get their hair done because they want to, not because they have to,” she says. One of her most memorable experiences was a client who postponed her appointment for a last-minute trip to visit her in-laws. “By the time she came in for her next appointment, her father-in-law had passed. She told us the photos her kids took with him were the last they had together. Hair is a small detail in the grand scheme of life, but gifting someone the gift of time is irreplaceable.”WHAT MAKES MANE + MAGNOLIA DIFFERENT?Unlike many salons that oer low-maintenance color as just one of their services, Mane + Magnolia has made it their specialty. “A lot of salons will promise you a beautiful color, but they won’t promise you how it will grow out,” Alyson says. That’s why she developed the Seamless Grow Out® methodology, which creates soft, natural-looking color transitions. Every stylist at Mane + Magnolia is expertly trained in this technique, ensuring clients get consistent, customized results.A SPACE THAT FEELS LIKE HOMEMane + Magnolia’s warm and cozy design is no accident. Alyson was inspired by a client who once described a previous salon experience as feeling “cold and uninviting.” Those words stuck with her, and when designing Mane + Magnolia, she ensured every detail made clients feel at home. “All of my inspiration came from photos of homes so that clients would feel at ease as soon as they walked in,” she shares. From oering snacks like charcuterie and trail mix to cozy blankets, heated neck wraps, and laptop trays for working clients, every touch is intentional.THE FIRST APPOINTMENT EXPERIENCENew clients start their journey with a digital consultation form, followed by a personalized welcome packet. The night before their appointment, they can customize their experience by selecting snacks, beverages, additional treatments, and even a silent appointment option for those who prefer a quiet visit. On the day of the appointment, the stylist walks them through a tailored color plan, ensuring they leave feeling confident and empowered.STAY CONNECTEDFor hair inspiration, behind-the-scenes moments, and booking updates, follow Mane + Magnolia on Instagram @maneandmagnolia or visit www.maneandmagnolia.com for more information, including their free gray blending guide.EFFORTLESS BEAUTYH Me + Maia Cng S ExpiceIn the heart of Spartanburg, Mane + Magnolia isn’t just a salon—it’s a revolution in hair care. 18BELLE’S DIYBlue and white chinoiserie decor is timeless, elegant, and effortlessly chic. However, authentic chinoiserie pieces can be pricey, with decorative balls often starting at $38 and climbing well over $100. That’s why we love this budget-friendly DIY from Two Bees in a Pod, where mother-daughter duo Vicki and Jenn show us how to create stunning chinoiserie balls for a fraction of the cost using simple supplies and a little decoupage magic. This project is perfect for adding a touch of sophistication to your home without breaking the bank. Whether displayed in a decorative bowl, on bookshelves, or as part of a centerpiece, these chinoiserie balls will bring a timeless charm to any space.WHAT YOU’LL NEEDBefore you get started, gather these supplies:Styrofoam balls in varying sizes (Vicki and Jenn used one-inch and four-inch balls)Protective covering for your workspace (a shower curtain liner from Dollar Tree works great)Matte-finish Mod PodgeDecorative napkins with chinoiserie-style patternsA plastic plate to mix Mod PodgeWaterA sponge brushProtective gloves (optional)INSTRUCTIONS1. Prepare Your WorkspaceCover your table or workspace with a protective layer to keep things clean. If your napkins have multiple layers, gently separate them so you’re only working with the top printed layer.2. Cut the NapkinsCut or tear the napkins into smaller pieces— this makes it easier to apply them smoothly to the round surface of the styrofoam balls.3. Mix Your Mod PodgeIn a plastic plate, mix Mod Podge with a small amount of water to thin it slightly. This will help the napkins adhere more smoothly.4. Apply the NapkinsUsing a sponge brush, apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to a section of the styrofoam ball. Place a piece of the napkin over the glue and gently press it down, smoothing out any wrinkles with your fingers or the brush.5. Seal the DesignOnce the napkin piece is in place, lightly brush another coat of Mod Podge over the top to seal it. Repeat this process until the entire ball is covered.6. Let It DryPlace the finished chinoiserie balls on a drying rack or wax paper and allow them to dry completely. This usually takes a few hours.7. Display & Enjoy!Once dry, your beautiful chinoiserie balls are ready to be displayed in a decorative bowl, used as shelf decor, or styled however you like!Meet the Makers: Vicki & Jenn OF TWO BEES IN A PODIf you love DIY home decor, you need to follow Two Bees in a Pod! Having faced her own struggles with self-doubt, Rawan wanted to create a space where women could embrace their personal style and step into their confidence. Her approach to fashion is simple yet powerful: choose outfits that make you feel amazing, and the confidence will follow. To achieve the look without breaking the bank, she suggests investing in well-fitting basics like a structured blazer, a crisp linen shirt, and a pair of chic loafers.Rawan also believes in blending timeless fashion with modern trends. “A classic blazer never goes out of style, but pairing it with trendy wide-leg jeans keeps it fresh,” she says. And remember, how you carry yourself matters just as much as what you wear. “Stand tall, own your look, and remind yourself that fashion is about self-expression, not perfection.”Through her Instagram, Rawan empowers women to embrace their own unique style rather than feeling pressured to chase every trend. “Fashion should feel personal, fun, and accessible,” she says. “It’s not about impressing others—it’s about feeling amazing in your own skin.”As spring fashion takes center stage, Rawan is excited to see more women in the Upstate embracing eortless elegance. Spring is the perfect time to breathe new life into your wardrobe, and Courtney Russell and Whitney McMeekin, the style experts behind Curated reads in Greenville, are here to help. With a passion for fashion and a deep understanding of how personal style impacts condence, they are on a mission to make getting dressed eortless and empowering.“When you look good, you feel good— no matter who you are.”A PERSONALIZED APPROACH TO STYLEAt Curated Threads, fashion isn’t just about what’s trending—it’s about finding what makes you feel your best. That’s why their process starts with a free in-home consultation, where they take the time to step into their clients’ worlds.“We explore their wardrobe, ask them to share their go-to outts, and discuss the pieces that make them feel their absolute best,” says Whitney. “But it’s not just about clothes—we take a holistic approach, learning about their daily routines, personal preferences, and lifestyle.”Their goal? To honor each client’s personal style while gently encouraging them to try new things—whether it’s a fresh color palette, a more flattering silhouette, or a trendy statement piece.DECLUTTERING FOR A FRESH STARTMany women struggle with the feeling of having “nothing to wear” despite a closet full of clothes. “It’s tough to get dressed when your closet is cluttered with too many pieces that no longer serve you,” says Courtney. To help clients purge their wardrobes, they ask key questions:Did it have a good run?Does it still fit?Is this piece out of style? Is it in good condition (holes, stains)?Do you ever actually wear it?“You wouldn’t believe how much easier it is to get dressed when your closet isn’t overowing with clothes you don’t love,” says Whitney. “Purging creates space for pieces that truly make you feel amazing every day.”SPRING MUST-HAVESCourtney and Whitney recommend these three wardrobe essentials for spring:1. 70’s Style Wide-Leg Denim (Light Wash or White) – “We’ve purchased these for so many clients because they’re trendy, comfortable, and flattering.”2. Platform Sandals – “For those of us who need a little lift but don’t want to wear a traditional heel, a platform sandal is the perfect option. 36Abigail GodfreyREAL ESTATE AGENT & STAR OF SELLING THE CITYGrowing up in Greenville, Abigail Godfrey never imagined that one day she’d be selling luxury real estate in the heart of Manhattan—or starring on a hit reality TV show, Selling the City. But with a background in consumer psychology from Clemson University, and a signature Southern charm that sets her apart, the 27-year-old has carved out a name for herself in New York City’s ultra- competitive real estate market. How did you end up onSelling the City? After 4 years in the real estate industry, I was ready to take my career to the next level. I had obviously heard of Eleonora as she’s one of the top brokers in Manhattan. When she told me about the team she was building, I was all in. I really believed in the team first, and the show was an added bonus. How has being on reality TVchanged your life?BeforeSelling the City, I was one of many real estate agents hustling to make a name for myself in NYC. The show didn’t just give me a platform—it put me on the map. It showcased my expertise, expanded my reach, and connected me with incredible clients and opportunities I never could have imagined. How does your consumer psychology background help you sell luxury real estate? My background in consumer psychology helps me understand what drives buyers’ decisions- from emotional triggers to pricing perception. In luxury real estate, that insight is invaluable. It allows me to present properties in a way that resonates with clients and aligns with their motivations. Empathy is key in any client-facing industry. Putting myself in my clients’ shoes helps build trust and ensures I truly understand their needs, making the entire process smoother and more rewarding for them. What’s your best advice for women wanting to crush it in real estate? My best advice is to join a team— something I didn’t initially do when I first started in real estate. Early on, many agents told me this advice, but I was stubborn and wanted to try it out on my own. Real estate has a steep learning curve, and success is rare without the right guidance. Aligning yourself with experienced agents is key. I wouldn’t be the agent I am today without the support and wisdom I received over the years. What was the biggest culture shock when you made the move from South Carolina to NYC?Pleasantries are not a priority in the big city. In the south we greet everyone on the sidewalk, but in NYC, people have places to be. Everyone’s on their way to work, running errands, or maybe rushing to a doctor’s appointment. You wouldn’t wave at every car you pass on your way to work - it’s the same idea. I also learned quickly that “ma’am” isn’t seen as respectful here - it’s more of an insult!Where was your favorite spring break spot while you were at Clemson?Spring break was always in Florida - whether it was Destin, Cocoa Beach, or Captiva Island - Florida was the place we could guarantee tan lines and good times.Do you still have any Southern habits that NYC just doesn’t get?I get called out almost every time I say “y’all.” Whether people are poking fun or genuinely curious, it’s pretty obvious that I am not from New York. And when people ask how you’re doing, don’t get too excited - they’re usually just tossing out a casual greeting, not actually waiting for a response.Where is your go-to date night destination with your husband? Our ideal date night would be Sunday night church at 5pm on 38th Street and Park Avenue - then a short walk around the corner for some of the most delicious Italian food at Rossini’s.Have you found any places in New York that remind you of home? There is an incredible place called Amy Ruth’s on West 116th Street that makes fixin’s so good it takes me back to my childhood of eating a meat and 3 at Como’s Pete’s on Augusta Road.Any upcoming big moves we should know about?Let’s just say you have not seen the last of us on your screen ;)
