We’re talking sun-soaked weekends, tan lines, watermelon-everything, and more SPF than we know what to do with. Welcome to The Summer Edit — Belle’s June issue packed with everything you need to kick off your summer with style, spirit, and just the right amount of sparkle. On the cover this month, you’ll nd stunning swimwear from Splash on Main that has us all dreaming of poolside escapes and sandy toes. Inside, you’ll nd an ode to coastal living with our feature on Saltwater Collection — a coffee table book that captures the soul of the Carolina coast and had our team instantly craving a beach weekend. We’ve also rounded up coastal seafood recipes you’ll want to keep on repeat (yes, we’re now ofcially obsessed with citrusy grilled shrimp), summer-inspired art picks to brighten your home, and a heart-to-heart about how comparison really is the thief of joy — especially in a season that can feel like one long highlight reel.Whether you’re spending your Saturdays at the lake (we’ve got a guide for that), planning a summer date night under the stars, or just trying to make it through the season with your sanity intact — we see you, we are you, and we made this issue for you. We’re also celebrating all the dads and father gures this month — the ones manning the grills, teaching the kids to cast a shing line, and keeping us laughing through every chaotic summer adventure. Cheers to you — Father’s Day wouldn’t be the same without your jokes, your grilling skills, and your giant cooler full of drinks. From event roundups across the Upstate to Greenville Fashion Week coverage and everything in between, we hope this issue feels like a breath of warm, salty air and a reminder that your version of summer is exactly enough. Here’s to making memories, supporting local, and squeezing every last drop out of this sunshine-lled season.CONTRIBUTIONSAllie ByersEveleigh Jones

12COMPARISONIS THE THIEFOF JOY
13The other Sunday, my pastor said something that’s been on a loop in my head ever since: comparison is the thief of joy. I know we’ve all heard it before, but this time it hit differently. Maybe it’s because summer is right around the corner, and I’ve already found myself scrolling Instagram, wondering if my kids are going to miss out because we’re not jet-setting off to somewhere turquoise and tropical.I love social media. I really do. I love seeing what other families are doing, finding inspiration for cute outfits, party ideas, recipes, home projects… all of it. But I also hate the way it can sneak into your brain and convince you that what you have isn’t enough. That you need the latest designer beach bag, a curated vacation wardrobe, a rental house with the perfect pool and sunset view, or a kitchen that doesn’t look like a snack tornado hit it at 2:30 p.m.This summer, I’m trying to opt out of that mindset. I’ve decided we’re doing things “90s summer style” in our house. That means sprinkler runs in the backyard, freezer pops after dinner, a rotation of neighborhood pools, and maybe a trip to the local zoo if I can remember to pack enough snacks. My Instagram feed will likely feature sticky fingers, watermelon wedges, muddy toes, and mismatched swimsuits. What it won’t show are the tantrums, the dishes in the sink, the laundry I ignored, or the closets that haven’t been touched since last year’s spring cleaning attempt. And that’s okay.Because here’s the thing—some of us are in saving seasons. Some are in splurging seasons. Some of us just came back from the dream vacation, and others are working toward it three years from now. Some moms are deep in the toddler chaos, and others are entering their golden summer with teenagers who sleep in until noon and can pack their own sunscreen. One isn’t better than the other—it’s just different. And thank goodness for that!If this is your season for beach picnics on a budget and skipping the matching outfits, I see you. If it’s your summer of luxury getaways and finally buying the boat you’ve dreamed about since college, I’m cheering for you too. There is no prize for doing summer the “best.” The real joy comes from doing it your way—with your people, your pace, and your priorities. So this June, whether your feed is full of five-star resorts or sidewalk chalk masterpieces, I hope you remember that it’s not about the comparison. It’s about the connection. With your family, your friends, and the little moments that don’t always make it to the highlight reel.Whatever your summer looks like, I hope it brings you laughter, light, and lots of snacks. Preferably cold ones. This is your permission slip to drop the pressure, embrace your version of summer, and leave the comparison behind.Because joy? That’s something we get to choose.L’s make it a gd one!Sun, Snacks, & Staying in Your LaneBY MELISSA RHINE

20Cuom Fit,Full of SparkleMEET ASHLEY GROMMER OF BESPOKE PERMANENT JEWELRY
21When Ashley Grommer discovered permanent jewelry at a rehearsal dinner in New Jersey, she didn’t just fall in love with the concept—she found her calling. “I had seen it on TikTok but never in person,” she told us. “My husband actually encouraged me to reach out and learn more.” That spark of curiosity led Ashley all the way to Las Vegas for a Permanent Jewelry Expo, where she dove headfirst into the world of custom jewelry, took classes, met suppliers, and brought her newfound passion back home to Spartanburg. The result?Bespoke Permanent Jewelry—a charming studio tucked inside 128 Magnolia Street where sparkle meets sentiment. As Ashley explains, “The word ‘bespoke’ kept popping up during the expo. It means custom-made, and that’s exactly what I do. Each piece is made just for you. It truly makes you feel special.”If you’re new to the trend, here’s the scoop: permanent jewelry is designed without a clasp. Instead, Ashley connects the ends of your chosen chain with a jump ring and welds it for a seamless, personalized fit. “You can still take it o if needed—jewelry isn’t indestructible,” she laughs. “Dogs, sweaters, MRIs—it happens. But I make it easy for you to come back in and have it re-welded.”When you arrive for your appointment at Bespoke, expect a vibe. “Music is playing, there’s a fun neon sign on a greenery wall—it’s a whole experience,” she says. You’ll browse through over 75 chain styles in gold-filled, sterling silver, and solid 14k gold, with the option to add a charm or connector. From anklets and dainty bracelets to trendy hand chains and even body chains, there’s something for everyone. “The hardest part is picking your chain,” Ashley jokes.Summer is the season to shine, and Ashley’s current fave? “A colorful anklet or a body chain is perfect for sundresses or swimsuits.” She’s also constantly on the move, bringing her jewelry to local events. You can catch Bespoke this summer at Drayton Mills, Tryon Equestrian Center, Market on Mill, Greer Sunday Market, and the beloved Beaufort Water Festival. One of her top picks? “I’m especially excited about the Women’s Clinic in Clemson this year!”Bespoke isn’t just about looking good—it’s about celebrating life’s little (and big) moments with the people you love. “I get a lot of best friends, bridesmaids, and mothers and daughters who come in together. One of my favorite things is when brides treat their bridal party to permanent jewelry the morning of the wedding while everyone’s getting their hair and makeup done.”Whether you’re commemorating a milestone or just adding a little sparkle to your everyday, Bespoke Permanent Jewelry is here to make your jewelry as unique as you are.READY TO BOOK YOUR OWN CUSTOM EXPERIENCE?Find Ashley on Instagram@bespokejewelry_sc, on Facebook atBespoke Permanent Jewelry, or visit her site atbespokejewelrysc.comto book your appointment. 28CHASING THEWILD BREWWhy Flying Fox Coffeeis More Than a Drink“Flying Fox Barista Bar & Kitchen” Where rich brews meet inspired flavors in an atmosphere of effortless charm. The British Invasion (above) and The Salty Ex (below) bring a taste of intrigue to every sip.Not every coee shop is born with walls. Some, like Flying Fox Company, began their journey on wheels. Filled with a persistent drive, they have rolled through wedding venues and other events, serving bold, brewed sustenances to caffeine-hungry crowds. Transitioning from it’s early days as a mobile cart business to two wonderful brick-and-mortar cafe´s, Flying Fox has continued to draw customers in like a moth to a flame with its creativity as well as its soothing, unique atmosphere. This phenomenal business originated as a mobile business, it’s only customers being venue or wedding guests. However, the managers envisioned something far greater for this company, seizing the opportunity to open a shop within the Cartwright Food Hall in Greer, SC. Over a venture of two years, the business grew in productivity and popularity, which led to the opening of a second store in downtown Greenville, SC, on April 19, 2024. Without hesitation this new location proved to be just as productive as the original, causing leading to a major milestone just months later: leaving the food hall behind and moving into a privately owned shop across the street, in the former home of “Stomping Grounds” Coffee Company. In regards to the aesthetic of the shop as well as the atmosphere, walking into Flying Fox Coffee Company is like stepping into a scene from Peaky Blinders, with an interior designed to transport patrons into an edgy, vintage-dark Victorian space. The café blends this moody aesthetic with a scholarly, speakeasy vibe reminiscent of Knives Out, resulting in an ambiance that is both inviting and intriguing.Beyond the décor, Flying Fox offers an ever-changing menu of seasonal flavors with names as creative as they are flavorful: The British Invasion, Cheshire Cat, Heath Ledger, Valhalla Back Girl, Treasure Planet, Peaches and Scream, The Dirt Man, Stacy’s Mom, The Salty Ex, Spider Monkey, Smashing Pumpkins, Santa Slay, God Zest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Sage Fright, and Summer Nights. Their best-selling dishes—Kevin Bacon, Mornin’ Rito, and The Breakfast Club—pair seamlessly with their signature drink, the Coffee and Cigarettes Latte. However, Flying Fox isn’t just a coee shop; it’s a workplace that fosters a laid-back yet passionate environment. “It’s just so much more relaxed here” states Callum, an employee who joined during the transition to their new private location, as he describes it as his favorite job—one that stands in stark contrast to his previous experience at Starbucks in Taylors. His go-to drink? The British Invasion.Customers Julia and Natalie share a similar sentiment, praising Flying Fox for its unique menu and exceptional coffee. Julia loves the Vanilla Latte offered, while Natalie enjoys The British Invasion. Their one critique? The café used to be a bit chilly inside in past visits—thankfully, the staff addressed this concern, ensuring a more comfortable experience for patrons. From a modest mobile cart to a thriving café, Flying Fox Coffee Company has established itself as more than just a coffee spot—it’s an experience. The ambiance, creativity, and dedication to quality make it a standout in the local coffee scene, proving that vision and craftsmanship can transform a simple concept into a beloved establishment. A COASTAL STATE OF MIND SALTWATER: COASTAL CAROLINA BY FAITH TEASLEY
33There’s a quote in our June Summer Edit that reads, “Comparison is the thief of joy,” and after flipping through the beautiful pages of Saltwater: Coastal Carolina, I’d like to offer a little addition: joy is found in the salt air, sea breeze, and slow, simple moments. That’s exactly what Faith Teasley captures in her debut coffee table book and coastal lifestyle brand, Saltwater Collection.Faith, a Carolina girl through and through, has saltwater in her veins—literally, according to her grandmother, whose love of both the ocean and photography deeply influenced the direction of her life. “The Carolina coast has always had my heart,” she told us. “From a young age, my Grandmother told me that we had ‘saltwater in our veins.’ Her love for photography and the ocean inspired me to create Saltwater Collection—a coastal lifestyle brand featuring film photography of the Carolina coast.”And let me tell you, this isn’t just a book—it’s an experience. Saltwater: Coastal Carolina is filled with dreamy, light-soaked images from across North Carolina’s shoreline, including the famous Outer Banks, the calm waters of the Crystal Coast, and the sun-kissed surf towns of Cape Fear. But it’s more than just pretty pages. “I believe the coast isn’t just a place, but also a state of mind,” Faith says. “When creating Saltwater: Coastal Carolina, I wanted it to be an immersive experience.”It certainly is. From regional watercolor maps by Printed Hues to charming travel tips and local facts, this book is a love letter to the coast—and a heartfelt invitation to slow down and savor the moment. Faith hopes readers, no matter where they call home, “feel connected to the North Carolina coast.”One of the most touching elements of the book is a poem titled The Cottage, written by Faith and inspired by her childhood summers on the Pamlico Sound. “With summer upon us, it’s a sweet reminder of how magical relaxed, carefree days by the water can be,” she shares. And as a busy mom who’s usually running in a million directions, that reminder hits home. Sometimes we need to be pulled back to the rhythms of saltwater living—where life is a little slower and joy is found in the small things, like seashells in your pocket or sand in your shoes. So what exactly does saltwater living mean to Faith? “Slowing down and being present in the moment. Enjoying the beauty of nature around you and savoring the simple pleasures in life.”If that’s not a summer mantra, I don’t know what is.You can explore more of Faith’s coastal vision at www.saltwatercollection.com, and follow her journey on Instagram at @saltwatercollection_. Whether you’re a coast-loving Carolina girl or just dreaming of your next beach escape, this is the book that needs to be on your coffee table this summer. So here’s your official permission to slow down, take a deep breath, and soak in a little saltwater joy. Faith Teasley is showing us how..BELLE’S BOOKSHELFBY MELISSA RHINE

36Rachael LilesCO-OWNER OF SAUNA HOUSE GREENVILLEWhen the temperatures rise, there’s nothing quite like a good sweat—especially the kind that resets your body and mind. That’s exactly what Rachael Liles is bringing to the Upstate. Sauna House Greenville, is a brand-new wellness destination that’s about to change the way we think about self-care. A Greenwood native and Clemson grad who circled back to the Upstate after years in Asheville and beyond, she’s also a digital marketing pro for one of the most iconic denim brands around. What sparked your decision to help bring Sauna House to Greenville? We moved to Greenville to be closer to family, and quickly fell in love with the city - it’s impossible not to. Still, we always said the one thing missing was Sauna House, and how amazing it would be to bring that experience here. So when the opportunity came our way, it truly felt like a dream landing right in our laps. Two-and-a-half years after the first conversation to bring Sauna House to Greenville, we’re so excited to share this special place with the community. For those who haven’t stepped into Sauna House yet, what can they expect? There’s an immediate sense of relaxation, community, and wellness when you step into the space. With high ceilings and plenty of natural light, the Finnish-inspired design is simple, calming, and beautiful. The public bathhouse is truly the heart of the experience (though the private infrared and bathhouse options are incredible in their own right). Each visit lasts two hours, and phones aren’t allowed in the public areas. Then there’s the Hot-Cold-Relax circuit: an experience that leaves you feeling refreshed, grounded, and mentally clear. You can come solo with a book and enjoy some quiet time, or strike up a conversation - there’s something about a 190° room with no distractions that invites meaningful connection. Or, bring a friend and enjoy some truly intentional, undistracted time together. What’s in your summer survival kit—the things you don’t leave the house without once the humidity hits?Sunscreen, Chapstick, a mini hair brush, and my favorite water bottle, of course! As someone who has recently returned to the area, what’s been your favorite local discovery?Growing up just an hour away [in Greenwood], Greenville was our go-to “big city” for weekend visits. It’s been incredible to watch how much the city has evolved over the years. Some of my favorite spots now are Jones Oyster Co., The Anchorage, Sum Bar, Cottage Grove Vintage, The WRKT, Harrington’s, Conestee Nature Preserve… the list goes on and on! Let’s talk denim—what’s trending this season, and how are you styling it for summer? My full-time job is actually in digital marketing for Wrangler Jeans, so denim is always top of mind. I’m a big fan of classic style, and lately I’ve been loving longer denim shorts and vests. Timeless pieces with a fresh twist are what I gravitate toward. What’s your go-to summer outfit formula when you’re bouncing between business and casual? My go-to summer outfit formula is all about easy, elevated pieces, like breezy linen, midi skirts, and matching sets. I keep it simple with minimal gold jewelry, a versatile bag, and shoes that could work for a walking meeting and transition to dinner out that night. What’s in your “Summer Edit” right now— 3 things you can’t live without this season?Lately, with my hectic schedule I’ve been relying on Daily Harvest to keep my freezer stocked - smoothies, oatmeal bowls, and other quick, healthy options that are perfect for grab-and-go. A boar bristle brush has also been a game-changer - it refreshes my hair and cuts down on the need for dry shampoo (& hair washes!). And I never leave the house without Elta MD’s tinted moisturizer - it’s lightweight, contains SPF, and dewy coverage. As a marketing pro, what advice would you give to women dreaming of launching their own brand or space?Stay focused and dedicated to your work while staying true to your brand’s roots. Building genuine relationships within your industry and local community makes all the dierence. Don’t just look out for yourself - lift up other businesses and entrepreneurs, too. One of my favorite quotes is “Rising tides raise all ships,” and it couldn’t be more true when it comes to supporting local business.
