CHOSING THE RIGHT CANDIDATE FOR BOTTOM LASHESBottom lashes are generally thinner and shorter than upper lashes, and the extensions you apply should be as well. Since the natural lower lashes are usually thinner and shorter than the upper lashes, the length and diameter should be reected in extension selection. If this is not considered overall durability of bottom lash extensions will decreases.Additionally, because there are fewer lashes applied, client can expect to get a week or two of wear and overall less fullness on the bottom. Most people are able to receive bottom lash extension, but there are some exceptions. For instance, when a client’s natural lower lashes are too short or too sparse, extensions cant be applied safely and can overly accentuate the decits. Advance lash artists are trained to quickly determine who is and isn’t a lower lash extension candidate.3 TYPES OF CLIENTS WILL BENEFIT FROM BOTTOM LASHES.1. Mascara-loving clients2. Mega volume lash clients 3. Bride-to-be clients31
32TAPING LASHESBottom lash extensions are applied in the some manner as upper lash extensions. Bottom eyelash extensions take less time to apply. On average it can take from 30 to 60 minutes for the whole application. The goal is to get an extension on every lash to gain the desired effect.THE PREP/TAPINGLayer two strips of tape, with the adhesive parts facing each other, leave a small section of the sticky side on the ends, like in the picture below. The blue marking on the image is where the two pieces of tape attach to each other sticky side to sticky side.32
3232• Place the eye pad under the bottom lashes. When you work on the lower lashes, your sharp tweezers ends are going to be face down, and there is a high risk of packing the client’s face. Always place something under the eye.• Pull up the upper lashes so that they don’t interferewith the lower lashes.Be sure to secure all the top lashes under the tape• Prime the bottom lashes and dry33
3333APPLICATIONWhen picking up a lower lash, place them the opposite way to how you would apply the top lashes. To make your job easy, place the lash strip upside down. For bottom lash application, we want the tip of the lash curl facing downwards towards the skin.Once you have your lash extension picked and ipped, you can go ahead and isolate the natural bottom lash, you want to attach the extension to. Do the whole set as you’d do the upper lash extensions. Pick up extension, Isolate, Dip, Place.34
BOTTOM LASHAFTERCAREBottom eyelash extensions should be treated the same as the top eyelash extensions. Here are some tips for their maintenance:• Avoid water on the lashes as much as you can.• Avoid Rubbing or pulling out the lashes• Do not brush the lashes too often! • (bottom lashes only)• Be careful with your under-eye area• Expect to lose them faster then normal top eyelash extensions.35

The 7 Step Selling Process: Here are seven steps that are typically involved inmaking a sale:• Prospecting• Preparation or pre-approach• Approach• Presentation• Handling objections• Closing• Follow-up1. ProspectingProspecting involves nding and qualifying potential buyers or clients. At this stage, you determine whether your prospective customer has a particular need or want that your business can fulll. You might also decide on varying factors such as affordability. This stage of the selling process often involves research to identify your ideal customer. You can start compiling a list of leads or potential clients.2. Preparation or pre-approachBefore making initial contact with your prospects, you want to prepare. It’s important to have all your information ready, such as product descriptions, prices, payment options, competitor rates and dates for specic sales. You also want to know as much as possible about your prospects so you can better connect with them. This stage of the selling process might also involve preparing your initial sales presentation. Be ready to answer any questions your prospects could have with supporting data. Practice what you’re going to say out loud, and have someone present you with potential questions so you can rehearse your response.3. ApproachDuring the approach stage of the selling process, you’ll make your rst personal connection with your prospect or prospects. This step involves getting the potential buyer or client to interact with you by personalizing your meeting or otherwise establishing rapport. Ask questions to get the client involved in the conversation. Example: For instance, if you sell skincare products or services, you might ask:• Do you currently have a daily skincare routine?• Is there anything about your daily skin regimen that you’re unhappy with?• What are your top skin complaints?• Have you heard about the skin benets of our specic product or• service? You can also offer a gift, such as $10 off the rst skin treatment• or a sample of the product so your prospect can experience the benets• rsthand before making a greater investment. This also helps to conrm• condence in what you’re selling.PERFORMING SELLING & UPGRADING + THE 7 STEP SELLING PROCESS45
4. PresentationAt this point in the selling process, you have established an understanding of your prospect’s individual needs and wants. You can then tailor your presentation or demonstration to show how your product or service can best fulll those needs or wants. To complete this step effectively, focus on personalizing it and frame your product as a solution to their problem.Your presentation might involve a tour, product demonstration, video presentation or other visual or hands-on experience. This step is when you can apply all your research.5. Handling objectionsAfter you complete your presentation, your prospect might have some questions, concerns or objections. This is a normal and important part of the selling process. View objections as an opportunity to learn more about your prospect. When you research and prepare appropriately, you’ll have all the information needed to overcome objections. This step might involve listening to your prospect’s concerns and asking additional questions to better identify and understand their objections. You might want to then reframe your sales pitch to address those concerns.Example: If a customer says they won’t be able to make an investment until next month, you could offer them additional savings/promotions if they follow through with their purchase today. While in the handling objections step of the selling process, you might also reiterate the missing out of the opportunity for value/savings, if the prospect decides to completely forgo the purchase.6. ClosingOnce you’ve convinced the prospect that your product or service can meet their needs, it’s time to close the sale. It’s important to actually ask the prospect if they want to make the purchase and ensure they fully understand all the terms of the sale. You want to make sure your buyer understands the terms and restrictions included in the sale, such as any refunds, guaranteed customer satisfaction clauses or ongoing purchases or billing for monthly memberships. At this stage, you can also use upselling techniques, such as offering additional products that complement their original purchase, upgrades or a higher-end version of your product. After completing the transaction, always thank the customer and be sure not to instantly drop the connection.46
7. Follow-upThe follow-up, which takes place after the sale, is one of the most important steps in the selling process. It’s a continuation of the relationship between the seller and the buyer that ensures customer satisfaction, retains customer loyalty and helps prospects for new customers. The idea is not to continue selling at this stage, but instead to nurture the existing relationship. The follow-up might involve sending a thank-you note or calling the customer to ask about their experience with their new product or service. You might also ask your customer to rate your service or post a review on one of your social media or business pages. When done well, this stage can often lead you back to step one in the selling process with additional sales, referrals or reviews that bring new customers to you.Opportunities: During Consultation (ask and analyze) Retail & services.During service (if client likes the way a product feels or smells (retail).During the service skin analyze or the lash analyze (service or retail).End of service after client has dressed but before checking them out part ofthe aftercare (retail or services) Compare products and services.End of service (pull 3 products based on clients needs & goals).Follow up - 3-4 ,7,10-14 days. This is customizable for YOUR business i recommend at minimum two touch points days & mediums (phone call, email, text or whatever the client has identied as their preformed).47

The Consultation Items1. EYE PROFILECentral to this technique is the determination of each guest’s unique eye prole. All eyes fall into 1 of 3 proles. Fun fact: Each eye can even have a different prole! This eye prole indicates which lash design will best complement their natural features. That means fool-proof, perfect lash design for each eye, every time, personalized for a completely custom lash extension design for every guest! (see proles below)2. LASH CURLOur stylists strive to educate you on which lash curl is best for your unique eyes. 3. APPLICATION METHOD & LASH THICKNESSclassic lashes, hybrid lashes, volume lashes or mega volume lashes.**4. LONGEST LENGTH + LASH THICKNESSIn the nal step of the 4-step consultation process, our stylist determines your longest lash length and lash thickness. To do this, they consider the following:The length of your natural eyelash hairThe condition of that natural eyelash hairYour desired look. If you request a longer length, your stylist can use a thinner extension lighter in weight that won’t damage the integrity of your natural eyelash hair. After you have completed the 4-step eyelash extension consultation, you then complete your custom design code.Below is an example of how that design code is determined:Design: Straight, Upward, Downward Curl: C, D Length: List the longest lash length selected (i.e. 12mm) Method: Classic, Hybrid, Volume, Mega Volume** Thickness: .06, .07, .10, .15, .185. Be sure tosecure all the top lashes under the tapePlace the eye pad under the bottom lashes. When you work on the lower lashes, your sharp tweezers ends are going to be face down, and there is a high risk of packing the client’s face. Always place something under the eyePrime bottom lashes and dryWhen picking up a lower lash, place them the opposite way to how you would apply the top lashes. To make your job easy, place the lash strip upside down. For bottom lash application we want the tip of the lash curl facing downwards towards the skinOnce you have your lash extension picked and ipped you can go ahead and isolate the natural bottom lash you want to attach the extension to. Do the whole set as you’d do the upper lash extensions. Pick up extension, isolate, dip place, Fan, and Untape and repeat on second eye55
PINCH1. Place your tweezers around the amount of lashes you want, in order to create thefan you are trying to create; the more lashes the bigger the fan, the lesser theamount the smaller the fan. Your tweezers should be right above the sticky part ofthe lash strip you are pulling from. Close your tweezers securely (squeezing yourtweezers at 100%) around the chunk of lashes you’re planning to pick up. Pullthose lashes forward and slightly up towards you2. Place your thumb and index nger around the base of the lashes you’ve picked upsecurely (your ngers should be facing you, you should be able to see the fan youare about to create)3. Once you have the base of that group of lashes in between your ngers squeezethem together and begin to release pressure off of your tweezers (70-80%) whilereleasing pressure shimmy or twist your ngers slightly until your lash fan opensup and you are satised with the fan you have created4. BEFORE releasing the base of the group of lashes squeeze your tweezerssecurely around the fan you’ve created so that the lash fan doesn’t come apart5. Dip the base of your lash fan into the adhesive (refer to proper adhesive dippingpage 113 lash extension guide textbook)BLOSSOM/WIGGLE1. Glide your tweezers into the lash strip landing on the amount of lashes you’d liketo create the size of fan you desire. Close your tweezer and use it to shimmy fromside to side in order to pre bloom your lash fan.2. Close your tweezers at 100% grip and pull that pre bloomed fan towards you (notup not to the side pull it forward towards you!) The base of that group of fansshould still be loose3. Place that fan into your adhesive lightly and gently and release the pressure ofyour tweezers allowing that fan to fully bloom. If using a owering adhesive ringcup you may use the creases to help snatch that base by dragging it into thecrease lightly.PERFORMING THE FAN MAKING & APPLICATION FOR VOLUME / HYBRID LASH EXTENSIONS56
