The 7 Step Selling Process: Here are seven steps that are typically involved in making a sale:• Prospecting• Preparation or pre-approach• Approach• Presentation• Handling objections• Closing• Follow-up1. PROSPECTINGProspecting involves nding and qualifying potential buyers or clients. At this stage, youdetermine whether your prospective customer has a particular need or want that your businesscan fulll. You might also decide on varying factors such as affordability. This stage of the sellingprocess often involves research to identify your ideal customer. You can start compiling a list ofleads or potential clients.2. PREPARATION OR PRE-APPROACHBefore making initial contact with your prospects, you want to prepare. It’s important to have allyour information ready, such as product descriptions, prices, payment options, competitor ratesand dates for specic sales. You also want to know as much as possible about your prospects soyou can better connect with them. This stage of the selling process might also involve preparingyour initial sales presentation. Be ready to answer any questions your prospects could have withsupporting data. Practice what you’re going to say out loud, and have someone present you withpotential questions so you can rehearse your response.3. APPROACHDuring the approach stage of the selling process, you’ll make your first personal connection withyour prospect or prospects. This step involves getting the potential buyer or client to interactwith you by personalizing your meeting or otherwise establishing rapport. Ask questions to getthe client involved in the conversation. Example: For instance, if you sell skincare products orservices, you might ask:• Do you currently have a daily skincare routine?• Is there anything about your daily skin regimen that you’re unhappy with?• What are your top skin complaints?• Have you heard about the skin benefits of our specific product or service? You can alsooffer a gift, such as $10 off the first skin treatment or a sample of the product so yourprospect can experience the benefits firsthand before making a greater investment. Thisalso helps to confirm confidence in what you’re selling.4. PRESENTATIONAt this point in the selling process, you have established an understanding of your prospect’sindividual needs and wants. You can then tailor your presentation or demonstration to showhow your product or service can best fulll those needs or wants. To complete this stepeffectively, focus on personalizing it and frame your product as a solution to their problem.Yourpresentation might involve a tour, product demonstration, video presentation or other visual orhands-on experience. This step is when you can apply all your research.Performing selling & UPgrading + the 7 steP selling Process12
5. HANDLING OBJECTIONSAfter you complete your presentation, your prospect might have some questions, concernsor objections. This is a normal and important part of the selling process. View objections as anopportunity to learn more about your prospect. When you research and prepare appropriately, you’ll have all the information needed to overcome objections. This step might involve listeningto your prospect’s concerns and asking additional questions to better identify and understandtheir objections. You might want to then reframe your sales pitch to address those concerns.Example: If a customer says they won’t be able to make an investment until next month, youcould offer them additional savings/promotions if they follow through with their purchasetoday. While in the handling objections step of the selling process, you might also reiterate themissing out of the opportunity for value/savings, if the prospect decides to completely forgo thepurchase6. CLOSINGOnce you’ve convinced the prospect that your product or service can meet their needs, it’s timeto close the sale. It’s important to actually ask the prospect if they want to make the purchaseand ensure they fully understand all the terms of the sale. You want to make sure your buyerunderstands the terms and restrictions included in the sale, such as any refunds, guaranteedcustomer satisfaction clauses or ongoing purchases or billing for monthly memberships. At this stage, you can also use upselling techniques, such as offering additional products thatcomplement their original purchase, upgrades or a higher-end version of your product. After completing the transaction, always thank the customer and be sure not to instantly dropthe connection.7. FOLLOW-UPThe follow-up, which takes place after the sale, is one of the most important steps in the sellingprocess. It’s a continuation of the relationship between the seller and the buyer that ensurescustomer satisfaction, retains customer loyalty and helps prospects for new customers. The idea is not to continue selling at this stage, but instead to nurture the existing relationship. The follow-up might involve sending a thank-you note or calling the customer to ask about theirexperience with their new product or service. You might also ask your customer to rate your service or post a review on one of your socialmedia or business pages. When done well, this stage can often lead you back to step one in theselling process with additional sales, referrals or reviews that bring new customers to you.Opportunities: During Consultation (ask and analyze) Retail & services. During service (if client likes the way a product feels or smells (retail) During the service (skin analyze or the lash analyze (service or retail)End of service (after client has dressed but before checking them out) (part of the aftercare (retail or services) Compare products and servicesEnd of service (pull 3 products based on clients needs & goals)Follow up - 3-4, 7, 10-14 days. (This is customizable for YOUR business i recommend at minimum two touch points days & mediums (phone call, email, text or whatever the client has identified as their preformed)13

36PINCH1. Place your tweezers around the amount of lashes you want, in order to create the fan you are trying to create; the more lashes the bigger the fan, the lesser the amount the smaller the fan. Your tweezers should be right above the sticky part of the lash strip you are pulling from. Close your tweezers securely (squeezing your tweezers at 100%) around the chunk of lashes you’re planning to pick up. Pull those lashes forward and slightly up towards you2. Place your thumb and index nger around the base of the lashes you’ve picked up securely (your ngers should be facing you, you should be able to see the fan you are about to create)3. Once you have the base of that group of lashes in between your ngers squeeze them together and begin to release pressure off of your tweezers (70-80%) while releasing pressure shimmy or twist your ngers slightly until your lash fan opens up and you are satised with the fan you have created 4. BEFORE releasing the base of the group of lashes squeeze your tweezers securely around the fan you’ve created so that the lash fan doesn’t come apart5. Dip the base of your lash fan into the adhesive (refer to proper adhesive dipping page 113 lash extension guide textbook)BLOSSOM/WIGGLE1. Glide your tweezers into the lash strip landing on the amount of lashes you’d like to create the size of fan you desire. Close your tweezer and use it to shimmy from side to side in order to pre bloom your lash fan.2. Close your tweezers at 100% grip and pull that pre bloomed fan towards you (not up not to the side pull it forward towards you!) The base of that group of fans should still be loose3. Place that fan into your adhesive lightly and gently and release the pressure of your tweezers allowing that fan to fully bloom. If using a owering adhesive ring cup you may use the creases to help snatch that base by dragging it into the crease lightly.Pre Service Treatment SetupPre- Service - Preparing the Client for TreatmentGreet the Client - with a warm smile & professional manner, Introduce yourself.Discuss Client Intake - conrm the service. Begin by marking three critical places along each brow w/ brow pencil:• The front• The arch• The tailTo identify the front, Run the end of your pencil vertically from your client’s nose dimple to the inner corner of their eye, noting where the pencil crosses their brow.To identify the arch, draw a line from the dimple of the nose to the brow, but this time bend it slightly diagonally so that it’s in line with the outside of the iris—this is where the arch should be the tallest. Finally, angle your pencil from the side of your client’s nose to the corner of their eye closest to their ear to determine where the tail of your client’s brow should terminate. These three parts will assist you in determining the overall form of their browsUsing your brow pencil connect the points to trace the top of their brow. Then, draw that similar curve around the bottom of their brow. In this step, it’s up to your client how thick they want their brows to beUsing a Caliper to Brow MapBy using a caliper to measure, you can accomplish more accurate marking lines. After marking the outline of the brows, using the caliper to check to make sure that the brows are even. Take the caliper you will measure from the start of the brow to the tail of the brow then move to the other side. Once they are 100% even move on to the next step performIng the brow mappIng39

USED TO CREATE TWO SIGNIFICANT REACTIONSFirst reaction is Desincrustation, and the second reaction is iontophoresis.Galvanic Machine converts the alternating current received into a direct current. Electrons are then owing in one direction, this creates a relaxation response that can be regulated to target specic nerve endings in the epidermis. The machine can leave a metallic taste in your mouth, which is normalDesincrustation: Infusion of a product with a negative PH (alkaline based) to facilitate deep cleansing. Galvanic current is used to create a chemical reaction that liquees sebum (breakdown) and debris. It is benecial for oily or acne skin because it helps soften and relax debris in the follicle before extractions.Performing Desincrustation:-Use an alkaline based product on the skin’s surface (scaling uid) This solution is formulated to remain on the skin’s surface rather than being absorbed.-Client holds the positive electrode (set on positive polarity)Esthetician holds negative electrode (set on negative polarity)This creates a chemical reaction that turns the sebum (oil) to soap. (Saponication)Soap is made from fat and lye (sodium Hydroxide), it helps dissolve excess oil, clogged follicles, comedones, and other debris on the skin while softening at the same timeThere are several different types of electrodes that can be used the most common are the roller and the at electrodeGALVANICGALVANIC57
1. Cover entire positive electrode to be held by the client with a moistened sponge or Esti wipe 2. Give this to the guest to hold or clamp to the guest esthetician Use the roller electrode3. Apply product and gauze to the face as directed: apply the electrode to the client’s forehead. Do not lift the electrode or break contact from the clients skin before turning on the machine4. Turn the switch to negative and set at the- appropriate levels for clients5. Begin on the client’s forehead gently rotating, Do Not break contact once the machine is on, or it will be uncomfortable to the client6. Continue in the T zone (usually the location of oils) or any areas that are oily or need desincrustation, avoid areas that are dry7. Keep the electrode constantly moving to avoid over stimulating an area, keep the skin moist and pads wet.8. When nished turn machine off rst and then remove the electrode, rinse the skin thoroughly with warm Esti wipesDESINCRUSTATION PROCEDURE STEPS:IONTOPHORESISThe process of introducing water soluble solutions into the skin through an electrical current. Allows estheticians to penetrate, ions (atoms or molecules that carry an electrical charge) of an applied solution into the deeper layers of the skin. This process of ionic penetration takes on two forms: cataphoresis and anaphoresis. Cataphoresis is the infusion of a positive product (masque, moisture, hydration etc). Anaphoresis is the infusion of a negative product such a desincrustation uid (scaling uid). Universal law of attraction positive, attracts Negative and vice versa. Products that are slightly acidic are considered positive. Products that are slightly alkaline are considered negative. This is determined by the manufacturer that creates the productSet switch to appropriate settings while client holds electrode with opposite charge.Be sure to moisten the electrodes, have the client holds the electrode that is wrapped with a moisten cover or Esti wipe Spray the gauze with toner (any type multi active, age smart etc) before laying on the skinTurn the switch to positive and set at the-appropriate levels for clientsBegin on the client's forehead gently rotating, Do Not break contact once the machine is on, or it will be uncomfortable to the clientContinue in the T zone (usually the location of oils) or any areas that are oily or need desincrustation, avoid areas that are dryKeep the electrode constantly moving to avoid over stimulating an area, keep the skin moist and pads wet. When nished turn machine off rst and then remove the electrode, rinse the skin thoroughly with warm Esti wipesPRO TIP * Baking soda in water can be used as a desincrustation uid for anaphoresis. Most water-based serums can be used as iontophoresis products for cataphoresis.IONTOPHORESIS PROCEDURE: (STEPS ARE VERY SIMILAR TO THOSE OF DESINCRUSIATION)58

The serum helps the needles to glide over the skin and prevent the pen from dragging.& well as penetrating the serum into the epidermisPerforming the nano-needling64
Choose your desired needle depth by rotating the dial on your pen, click here to see our depth chart. Working in small areas, apply the serum to the skin just before needling. The recommended pattern to move the pen is vertical, horizontal, then diagonal in both directions. We recommend working in a grid, so you know exactly where you have and haven’t passed over with the pen. Use light pressure, and use your free hand to hold the skin taut. Serum Mask ( using leftover serum apply it and allow it to absorb. Optionally apply a cold compress via cotton sheet mask (water only) or a cold towel.Done - Do not apply ANYTHING else onto the skin (even SPF) • It is NOT recommended Vitamin C, retinol, exfoliants, or other brightening ingredients be usedduring the treatment as they can cause irritation and reaction.POST-NEEDLING & AFTER-CARE• It’s perfectly normal to experience redness, swelling, and pinpoint bleeding after your microneedlingtreatment. This is nothing to worry about as this reaction is normal.• Avoid working out/sweating or applying makeup for 24 hours. If going outside you must apply a highprotection sunscreen.• Don’t sweat or apply makeup for 24 hours. If you are going outside, you must apply a high protectionsunscreen. If you have to wear makeup, use a makeup product that is specically designed for sensitiveskin or for post-treatment use to avoid irritation.24 HOURS AFTER MICRONEEDLING: You can wash your face with a gentle cleanser and use a nourishing moisturizer. Avoid products that contain fragrance, active ingredients (vitamin C, vitamin a, retinol), acids (AHA, BHA, lactic), physical scrubs, and toners that may irritate the skin. At this stage, you may experience some mild swelling, peeling, bruising, and aking. To minimize these effects, keep the skin moisturized. Moisturizing will also reduce shedding and alleviate the feeling of tightness.Avoid exercising, excessively sweating, swimming, or applying makeup for 24 hours. You must use a high protection sunscreen when going outdoors and avoid prolonged sun exposure.NEEDLING ( Depth Chart)48 HOURS AFTER MICRONEEDLING:Optional: If you have dry and aking skin, you can gently exfoliate to speed up recovery. Do not use a chemical or harsh physical exfoliant; opt for a washcloth. But avoiding this is ideal. And if your skin feels sensitive, do not exfoliate yet; it will subside soon. Continue to hydrate the skin twice per day.3-5 Days After Microneedling:Apply high protection sunscreen daily, avoid direct and extended sunlight. Focus on hydrating andmoisturizing products and avoiding active ingredients, scrubs, acids, and toners.7+ Day After Microneedling:Return to your regular skincare routine!TIPS • Ensure the device is fully charged or you’re near a power source.• Before you touch the client, Prepare the area, sterilize the pen, surface you are using, and keepalcohol close by. If you touch a serum bottle, brush, or anything other than your skin and thedevice during the treatment, you could be causing cross-contamination.Dispense your serum into a bowl and apply it with a brush during the treatment to make it easier and stay hygienic.65

General Waxing Guidelines: Hard Wax• Discard all used single-use materials in a sealable plastic bag and closed waste container (sanitize your hands if you touch the waste container)• Never reuse wax.• Do not place the used spatula, wax, or any other materials used in waxing directly on the counter. Use a tray or paper towelSetup supplies and wax warmer:• gloves, 4x4’s, powder, pre wax cleanser, wax residue remover oil, post wax antiseptic lotion, post wax soothing/cooling gel, fan, and wax sticksPreparing the Table/Client:• The head of the table should have protective paper for under the head, neck, & shoulders.• The client should be in a semi-reclined position on the table, with hair & clothing protected.Perform client consultation:• Ask clients questions to see if they have any contraindications• Instruct client on how to get on the table & put on draping (if applicable)• Instruct client to remove (their own) jewelry• Show client area to place their personal items/jewelryWash & dry your hands & put on glovesPrepare the skin:• Remove makeup & cleanse the skin in the area being waxed: Apply the cleanser to two 4x4s & cleanse the client’s skin thoroughly with a mild astringent cleanser.• Apply pre wax oil (if recommended by wax manufacturer/ or skin is dehydrated).• Make sure the skin is dry: If applicable, apply a powder to the area being waxed to dry out any moisture on the clients skin. Spread powder as evenly & thin as possible for effectiveness (you can add more powder later)Brush the hair into place to see the brow line.Measure the three lines (start point, endpoint, & point of arch) for shaping and examine what hair needs to be removed.Test the Wax Temperature/Consistency:• After draping the client, test the temperature and consistency of the heated wax by applying a small (dime size) drop on the inside of your wrist.• It should be warm but not hot.• Wipe off one side of the spatula on the inside edge of the pot, or spin the spatula, so wax does not drip.• If it is dripping off the spatula, there is too much wax, or it is too hot. • Correct the problem to avoid drips or hurting the client.Carefully take it from the pot to the brow area.Apply the Wax:• Standing behind the client, with a small spatula, apply the wax to the entire area under the brow, 1st apply the wax against the direction of hair growth, then back over the same area in the direction of the hair growth.• 2 or 3 wax applications may be necessary, so that neither the hair nor the skin is visible through the wax, however, be sure not to put the spatula in the wax more than once (do not double-dip).• The wax line should have a clean, even, edge all the way around for a clean removal, leaving a “tab” or “handle” at the outer edge where it will be grasped for the removal.Within 30 seconds, when the wax looks opaque & maintains a ngerprint, it is ready to be removed.PERFORMING THE BROW WAX WITHOUT TWEEZING HARD WAX74
Remove the Hard Wax:• Flick up the wax on the outer edge of the eyebrow with your thumb.• Using one hand to hold the skin taut at the outer edge of the brow, grasp the• wax tab with your other hand & pull quickly against the direction of hair growth, as close to the skin as possible (parallel to the skin)Immediately apply pressure to the area.Repeat the process on the other eyebrow (once you have mastered waxing with hard wax, the wax can be applied to the 2nd eyebrow while you are waiting for the wax on the 1st eyebrow to set) When applying wax to the glabella, the area between the eyebrows, the procedure is the same. 1st against the direction of hair growth, then back over the same area in the direction of the hair growth. Although there may be growth upward at the top of the glabella & downward at the top of the nose, hard wax can remove both directions in a single application & removal. Note: if needed, trim any extra long stray hairs using rounded brow scissors. Cleanse the waxed area with a mild wax residue remover (oil).Perform brow waxing aftercare:• Massage both eyebrows simultaneously with an antiseptic wax aftercare lotion.• Finish with a post-wax soothing/cooling product like aloe gel.Brush the eyebrows in their normal/desired position.Complete a post-wax consultation and discuss post-wax precautionsTIPS: • Cold compresses are also nice to soothe the skin.• It is normal for hives and redness to appear after waxing such a large area of thick coarse hair, or if the skin is sensitive to the heat or ingredients. • Shiny skin indicates lifting and you should start wound protocol.Use HARD WAX for: • HAIR THAT GROWS IN MULTIPLE DIRECTIONS to avoid using strips• AS CLEAN UP STRIPS FOR LEFT BEHIND HAIR75

Apply First aid ointment 3-4 times a day (EXAMPLES Neosporin or Bacitracin)5. Advise the client on what happened and give aftercare instructions. It may feel like a burn, sunburn or chang and may form a scab. The time that a wax burn or skin lift will take to heal depends on how well you look after the area, it will most likely go away within a week.Aftercare for client:1.
